5 College Freshman

Campus Resources: There are always computers available around campus

5 College Freshman

Campus Resources: The library is the only place I have really gone.

2 College Senior

Campus Resources: There is not really much going on at all. Maybe because it is on a military installation.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: They have a great tutor center.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: Computers and classrooms look really old.

4 College Senior

Student Body: It`s a good mix of everything. We have young people coming fresh out of high school, non-traditional students and former students attending new classes

2 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I think the tuition is a bit much. I was able to take classes on a different campus before. They offered 2 classes for the prize of 1. Barton does not do that. One class is $137 per credit hour.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: My major is nursing, everything that I need is offered in every cycle.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: Barton offers a verity of subjects to choose from, I am very pleased.

4 College Senior

Online Courses: I took online classes before, so I was not really worried. Everything worked out great. Assignments were explained very well, the Professor was available for any questions.

Academic Experience: Well I graduated from Barton Community College with an associates degree in science. I took most of my general studies with had to do with my major which is Biochemistry and minor in leadership studies. Most of my classes are able to transfer somewhere else which is nice.

Campus Resources: Our campus is filled with activities for students to use. They recently remodeled our gym floor it was actually quit slick to dance on but it looked really nice. It is a campus students live on and in the Student Union, underneath level of the student union there is a lobby and is free were we spend some of our time playing pool watching t.v. or playing a basketball arcade game or even just relaxing. Out in the dorms we do have free laundry that is always a plus and by the laundry room we do have a facility were we have a stove, fridge, and an Ice machine. We sometimes use the stove to cook meals and pastas and we have a pool table were we can just play and relax.

Campus Resources: One of the good things about BCCC is that they library does offer free printing to all students both black and white and in color. The students who are staying in campus have good network reliability they are able to access the internet easy in their dorms without a problem. I really took my personal computer into the library but my friend was able to take in her personal laptop and use it in campus and was able to access the internet in ease.

Tuition & Financial Aid: My tips and advice for students is to apply for FASFA ahead of time in case there are any issues with FASFA because sometimes waiting until the last minute can really cut you back on some classes and enrolling on time. I was on a dance scholarship so I did not have to worry about any problems with it. It all went smoothly. The financial office is really good about letting students know about any scholarships the school is offering and steer you to the right direction and who you can talk to or visit about scholarship applications. They helped me a lot.

Campus Resources: Our school is meant to help students out no matter the race or ethnic background. Our school is filled with friendly staff members who goal is to create a safe environment for the students to be in. I lived on campus for a semester and honestly that was the best semester. There were security guards checking throughout campus in the day and at night making sure the campus was safe and no harm was going around. We have a tons of campus activities that are offered to us such as $3 movie nights on Wednesday's, we have luau dances one a year, the Hispanic American Leadership Organization celebrate Hispanic heritage month with piƱatas and delicious Mexican food. Our sports have what called big brother big sister who help out the little kids for volunteer work. There are numerous activities to get involved in. Most importantly they do an outstanding job on making you feel like a BCC Cougar family. Something I will always appreciate.

Academic Experience: The professors are involved in the academics of the students. All of my teachers I had were very helpful, and when ever I had questions they were always right there answering all of my questions. One of the things I appreciate about my teachers is the time they took outside of class to help me on a homework or even a question I had in class. That outside experience really made me bond and grow closer to my teacher because I felt like I had an opportunity to get to know them outside of class. I really enjoyed all the effort my teachers put when homework was assigned to us. I work hard for the grades I earn and most of my thank you goes out to my teachers for being so patient with me when I mostly needed help.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The campus is small so it is easy to navigate around without getting lost. I wish the research centers were bigger because the library only has 16 available computers to use. But the printing is free so it is definitely worth the wait to print on one of the campus' computers.

4 College Sophomore

Student Body: The school mostly consists of student-athletes which is great since I am one myself. There are some organized student-activities but not as much as I would like. For the ones they have they need to make them more well known by advertising for them more.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: The classroom size is small making the relationship between the professor and student personal. The only thing I have a problem with is that the number of classes that are offered at the college isn't enough to get a doctorates degree.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: There are always computer labs open and you will always be able to get on a computer and do whatever you need to, but if your trying to do stuff on the internet wirelessly with your own computer it can be kinda slow at times. I would suggest you invest in your own router.

4 College Senior

Student Body: There are many ethnicities at this college and everyone gets along really well. People hang out and talk with everyone no matter what race or beliefs everyone gets along really well.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: There is a tutoring section in the library for those who need it. I personally dont need the tutoring but for those that do this is a great opportunity and there are plenty of tutors to help out so you will always get the help you need when you need it,

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: The union is an alright place to hang out but there is only one pool table and one ping pong table in there for everyone to use and it can get a little crowded at times.

5 College Senior

Online Courses: I am impressed by the amount of material that is covered, and the convenience for those of us who maintain a household and have children at home. A student must be responsible and mature enough to handle the fact that nobody will remind them to turn in or do work, all instructions are cut and dry.

3 College Junior

Online Courses: The online courses at Barton are very good. The workload is a fair amount, and the Professors are almost always on campus.
