5 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: The UWS is a great part of the city. The best if you ask me. There are lots of food spots, speckled with great little local coffee places. Loads of diversity with smaller crowds.

5 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Restaurants are probably hat NYC has the most of.

College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: There is none. All graduate students need to find there own accommodations here in NYC.

Majors: I do enjoy the program. Being an international student, I feel that there needs to be an emphasis on health care programs in other countries and how that would potentially effect the role of child life.

4 College Senior

Academics: Curriculum in the Child Life program is specialized and rich. Class size is small which allows for deeper learning and experiencing of topics and activities. All professors are CCLS's and are very proficient in their field.

Local Atmosphere: Bank Street is on the Upper West SIde of Manhattan. It is in close proximity to Columbia University, so the immediate area has many students. There are many restaurants in this neighborhood, all cuisines, all price ranges. Riverside Park is one block away, a beautiful park on the Hudson RIver. Being in NYC, there are numerous cultural events, diverse neighborhoods, always s something to do.

Drug Safety: Bank Street consists of one building, no campus. I have not seen anyone who appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Majors: This is a graduate school of education, but there are many niches available. I chose this school, for example, for the program in museum education.

Computers: There is a computer lab filled with Macs, as well as a library with many computers. The staff is friendly and knowlegable. Printing costs are fair. Wi-fi throughout!

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Bank Street is located in Morningside Heights, on the West side of Manhattan, between the Upper West Side and Harlem. This neighborhood also has Columbia University, and Barnard College, so there are many young people around, plenty of coffee shops, and bookstores. It's a calmer taste of city life, with many families living nearby, as well as students. It's not nearly as hectic as anywhere midtown or in other tourist-filled locations. However, you may find clusters of tourists in front of Tom's Diner, snapping pictures of the famous exterior used in Seinfeld!

Campus Dining: Plenty of options, even for VEGANS! They even serve Stumptown Coffee!

Facilities: Its Just One Building – There are not a lot of student groups or events, other than lectures.

3 College Junior

Weather: The summers are hot and humid. Winters are not too bad.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Upper West Side – Its a pricey neighborhood. Finding something close to campus in a student budget is hard.
But most people commute from all over the city

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: It's Grad School – You're expected to take care of your self. The One strict rule they have is that if you miss more than 2 sessions of a class you are in danger of failing.
