4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: There is always someone willing to help

Nightlife: Not a huge party school, but there's things to do!

Diversity: Baldwin Wallace prides themselves on diversity

Academics: I like my program a lot and feel that it will prepare me well for graduate school. We have a cadaver lab and dissect the bodies our selves which pulls us apart from those students who do not have that same experience. The workload is a lot due to a lot of the classes being in the sciences but it is bearable if you work hard.

4 College Junior

Academics: I like a lot of the professors I have had so far and most of them are very good at offering to help. All of them knew my name which was a result of BW's small class sizes. Registration is a nightmare and I almost always need a plan B.

College Junior

Campus Housing: I am a commuter so I do not know first hand. There are some dorms that aren't very good and some that are SUPER nice. You pay more based on which dorms you live in.

3 College Junior

Facilities: Student hangouts are pretty much only in the cyber. I enjoy all of the trees and squirrels on campus while I walk from class to class. The athletic centers are pretty nice.

Greek Life: Greek Life is a HUGE part of BW life. Most of the fraternity and sorority members are involved in most things on campus, not non greeks. I think non-greeks view greeks as snobby sometimes but it depends on the chapters you know personally. There are Greek Floors but no greek houses due to Berea Laws.

Majors: My major is Pre Physical Therapy. The hardest part for me is class scheduling. Since it is a smaller school, only certain classes are offered in particular semesters. Also, there are smaller class sizes so classes fill up quick. Be sure to have your schedule planned out ahead of time also with some back ups just in case plan A falls through.

3 College Junior

Majors: I love the faculty in my major but again class scheduling is the biggest nuisance to me. The course load is filled with a lot of sciences so it is a "harder" major in that respect. Our department chair is good about communicating information to us about internships and opportunities about our major.

Health & Safety: In Berea, Ohio, not a lot of crime is evident. I feel very safe walking around campus at night and safety and security is always around to help out.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Panera, Chipotle, Bob Evans, Mcdonalds, Wendys, Dunkin Donuts are some just to name a few. These are all pretty close and could be a 15minute walk.

4 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Berea is a cute town but there is not much to do around campus. Neighboring cities like Strongsville have a large mall and Cleveland has a nightlife as well as museums to go see.

College Junior

Nightlife: I do not partake in many parties. However when there are some, they are in houses and often broken up by the local police. April Reign is the biggest party event of the year and everyone is drinking that weekend.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: I think most of these responses depend on the RA you have in your dorm. If you have a lenient RA, more things will be let go easier than if you had a strict RA.

Off-Campus Housing: I personally have not ever had an interest in off campus housing. However, from what I hear, it is a lot better than living on campus. The apartments are very close, even within walking distance and reasonably priced. There are also opportunities to get free housing from the school by participating in certain groups or projects for a major.

Off-Campus Dining: Dining off-campus is usually a treat for me, but there's enough variety to keep things exciting.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I only know through friends, but off-campus housing is always available and about as affordable if not more so than on-campus housing. Very safe.

Academics: Opportunities EVERYWHERE. The program is family first. We're innovative in our art form, but with a huge respect and focus in classical theatre foundation. Constantly trying new programs, new approaches, fusing art forms together. All students are in practice of what they want to do if they put the effort in. You truly get out what you put in. Professors work professionally in Cleveland while they teach and direct. They are your friends more than anything else. Variety of talents, decent workload, and improving facilities. The conservatory of music is virtually the best in the midwest. If you want to be a professional musician, you go to this school.

Academics: Many professors aren't the most enthused about their students. They love their subjects, but they don't know how to communicate with their students as capable learners. Curriculum sometimes feels dumbed down, and debate is occasionally stifled to avoid potential conflicts (silly). Registering is easy, though. Graduating on time or early is very possible for most. Study help is ALWAYS available as well as study areas. You get out of it all what you put in.

Guys & Girls: It can be hard to find a mate, but it is SO easy to find a friend. Kind of fusion between Midwest and East Coast cultures.

Scholarships: Massive scholarships are the majority of the reason why I opted for BW over other schools. If you have something BW wants, they will fight to win you over. I have scholarships for being an out of state student, for my eligibility through FAFSA, for my academic achievement, and just because they like my personality. Seriously. Never be afraid to ask people questions. It takes A LOT of work to fill out the paperwork, though. Worth it.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: About half of the dorms on campus are GORGEOUS (clean kitchen, lounge, and TV spaces, massive rooms, perfect temperature control) while the other half is pretty average (exposed piping, OLD designs, cramped). Vending machines are life savers. You kinda gotta get lucky with your Residence Hall Assistants, though. Most are very helpful, but some could care less.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The campus is distant enough from the city to feel safe. As a woman, I don't feel entirely uncomfortable walking alone at night. However, I think this allows security on campus to slack a little. Phone requests for escorts aren't always responded to immediately. Students do take care of one another. Alcohol use can often get excessive at parties, which doesn't usually end in violence but more in illness.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I hope to have an internship with a theatre company in the Cleveland area, and my professors are extremely supportive and generous with their connections. Snagging an internship, however, is very competitive, and I'm not too sure about living in Cleveland.
