Local Atmosphere: Wellesley is good, safe, and very nice. Don't expect much to be open after 8pm though. Boston is a lot more vibrant and there's a lot more to do.

Off-Campus Housing: Basically Babson offers housing for everyone, first year students must live on campus. A low percentage of students live off campus since it gets expensive to live around Wellesley. If you live farther, it's inconvenient to commute in it seems.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Generally health services and BABO (the campus police) are there when you need them. Health services you need to have an appointment which can get kind of annoying.

4 College Senior

Athletics: Varsity Sports are encouraged though not a large part of school activity.

Transportation: There are currently shuttles and taxis that you can use, but taxis tend to be pricey and the shuttles are usually pretty inconvenient. There are T stations pretty close by to take you into Boston, which is helpful. I brought my own car there because it only costs $75 for a parking pass.

Computers: Babson provides all their students with Lenovo laptops. The are great to use in class and outside of class. The network is usually pretty sturdy. If any classes require special software, it is usually free to download and easy to do so. Printing is also free. The laptops are also wireless from any part of campus, so it is extremely easy to the laptops anywhere. The IT Tech Support is also very helpful. I currently work there and we help all students that need help with network, software, replacements, etc.

Greek Life: Greek life is very small at Babson simply because the school itself is small, but it does play a big role. There are currently three sororities and three fraternities. I am in a sorority and I absolutely love all the people I meet and hang out with. They are great connections, but they also involve all other students on campus to participate in some of their events. It has really helped me become a better leader, friend, student, etc. It's definitely been a home away from home, and I have loved every part of it.

3 College Junior

Weather: Well it is New England, the weather changes with the seasons, and we have all 4, Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall

5 College Junior

Diversity: We have a lot of Diversity, due to the fact of the high international presence. Also there is a lot of diversity when it comes to economical background because the school is able to award funds to students who show promise. There is a little bit of everything here but things do tend to get very cliquey

Nightlife: It all depends on who you know and what you consider to be fun, the college doesn't put on too many parties but there are plenty of students who will throw them in their dorms or suites

3 College Junior

Transportation: The only transportation around during the week is the shuttle which only takes u to other colleges for classes and the only way to get around town is to walk because the commuter rail takes you into Boston, there are no buses at all in wellesley

The best way to describe Babson: At first you'll feel like a fish out of water, but as time goes on, you somehow survive and become a lizard with tougher skin. No matter how hard you think your high school was, nothing can prepare you for the incredible and challenging academic life of a Babson freshman. Most students agree that the workload is by far larger than they initially expected. And although it takes some time to get used to the curriculum, students feel that the impeccable education is worth it.

Those who are unhappy with their education here are usually just not used to it yet. Many say that the school is too small and they get bored walking around campus and seeing the same people all the time. Voicing the fact that this college is smaller than many high schools is not uncommon here. Some students also complain that too many of their peers come from the same economic backgrounds, even though the campus is diverse in other aspects. The social scene, however, is better than expected for a business-oriented school, although it's not a party school by far. Students here are very serious about their education, and many are very competitive. School size is also directly proportional to the faculty-to-student ratio, which is where Babson excels in comparison to larger business schools. This ratio is important for the special attention that students receive from faculty. Professors are very well-educated and try their best to convey their knowledge to the young Babsonians. Although the workload can be shocking at first, it gets better with time. Most enjoy the challenges and hurdles of Babson's college experience, and believe that the education they receive is valuable to their future careers, and their future in general.
