4 College Junior

Academics: Workload depends somewhat on which teachers you enroll for. I am majoring in business finance and have not begun my major classes. I have heard the work load for this major is heavy, the curriculum substantial, faculty is good and valid, the technology is alright, job opportunities are often available, and gen ed is a large amount and pain in me arse.

Campus Dining: There are multiple available places around campus with different options and opportunities that are good. I will say it is very expensive and your bathroom experience will go downhill. But im an easy going guy, I typically always eat at the Dining Hall for their buffet and enjoy their stuff. Although many people cant stand the food i think they are spoiled and un-creative.

Campus Strictness: Depends on how you look at it. APU gets an A because it is very strict and effectively enforced. Aside from it being a dry campus and other religiously inclined rules, security is always around, there is a large amount of students who look to rat people out thinking they're doing the christian thing, there are many assigned supervisors in on-campus housing who are not easy going and are rule pushers, visiting hours are dangerous, parking is limited and quickly rewarded with tickets. Anything outside the slightly narrow guidelines is attentively rewarded with different consequences and payments.

Majors: I am only enrolled in one business class so far, accounting, and so far I am enjoying it a lot more then I thought. The school provides so many opportunities for us to get involved and be seen. I am excited to continue my education.

Health & Safety: Azusa Pacific emphasis on it's safety for all students and staff. I feel safe walking anywhere on campus and help is a phone call away if not a viewing distance away. Theft occurs in any school, so just be smart but many of the students leave doors open in the dorms and nothing gets stolen though it's not recommended because like in any school there are thieves.

Off-Campus Dining: There are many restaurants to choose from, fast food to fine dining like Marie Callenders. It doesn't matter where you are from there will be something for you. Most of the areas to eat are really nice and are really close to campus. No matter the price range there is something for you. The great part is some give discounts to students and it adds up to a lot of savings. Chinese, Mexican, American, African-american, no matter your race and preferences there will be a restaurant around the corner for you.

Facilities: The community is spectacular. The Staff and teachers genuinely care for the students and how they are doing. APU partners with numerous Ministry Organizations to go Abroad.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of options off campus, as far as them being good choices, not really. The restaurants directly around campus are not that great of quality restaurants.

5 College Junior

Facilities: All of the facilities are state of the ark and up to date. They meet the students needs and wants for the most part.

4 College Freshman

Majors: It's really easy. All you really have to do is apply and you're in.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Azusa is alright. Not too many people hang out in Azusa. Most people go elsewhere like the beach.

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: Most people just like to hang out on campus and play volleyball or pull pranks on each other. It doesn't sound very fun but when you're with the right people it can be very fun.

Athletics: The athletics at my school just went under construction by joining the NCAA for the first time this year and you can tell it's our first year in a bigger conference.

4 College Freshman

Academics: I really like all of the classes I am in right now.

4 College Freshman

Academics: I came to Azusa Pacific University because I heard that the teachers are daily challenging you.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I am a music major, and there is no difficulty to get into the music major, all you have to do is declare. For performance majors, however (I am a vocal performance major), you have to audition to get in. the audition isnt difficult, and very relaxed. Just do your best and you should be fine.

2 College Senior

Campus Strictness: Campus safety and R.A.'s are strict about keeping the university laws and codes. This means no drinking or drug use on campus. Curfews are definitely enforced here as well.

3 College Senior

Weather: Very humid especially in the beginning of the fall semester. But once it cools off more, the weather is fairly mild. Spring semester it is usually pretty cold and rainy, but not cold enough to snow. It is Southern California after all.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: The health center is a great and convenient place to go whenever you have any medical problems. The staff there is very kind and caring. And campus safety is fairly good as well. They definitely have stepped up their patrols between east/west campus so I feel safer walking at night.

3 College Senior

Transportation: There is a trolley system at APU to get from East to West Campus and vice versa. Most of the time it is reliable with 2-3 trolleys running at the same time. However, right after chapel, it can be difficult to get on a trolley right away since there are so many students wanting to use it. Overall though, they have a good system worked out.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: I personally have not witnessed to bad of a drug scene around campus, with the exception of those who do partake in normal smoking, and I assume those who smoke weed. Generally if there is any scene it is not shown within the proximity of campus.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The drug scene at Azusa Pacific University is very monitored, the school does its best to keep the school drug and alcohol free. There are very few people who do drugs and drink alcohol but most of them get caught and result in disciplinary actions.

Facilities: The new renovated Dillon Recreation Center is fabulous! Turf field and sand volleyball courts are definitely the place to hang out any and every night, if you don't have/are procrastinating your homework.
