College Sophomore

Nightlife: Given that it's a Christian school where partying isn't allowed, I never actually saw any or heard of any parties.

College Sophomore

Greek Life: The only greek life at APU is the academic honor societies.

Guys & Girls: I really liked the people at Azusa Pacific. Especially in those first few weeks everyone was really nice and helpful. Also if you run with the right people you will find serious students.

Computers: The library is essentially the computer lab. It provides a decent number of computers with full and efficient internet access. Printing is offered as well from the library, however one must be prepared to pay a small fee. The hours of the computer lab/library on the weekends can be a problem every now and then.

Academics: As a psychology major there comes a lot of excitement. However, the workload is significant, which is expected. The focus on the psychology department isn't very significant on a wide scheme of things. They have some very interesting path's of emphasis, however, few full time professors to teach the curriculum which results in poor teacher/student relationships.

Academics: Professors, at least in my experience have been all adjuncts. This has been rather upsetting, especially as a transfer student. I have heard great things about some of the full time professors, however, due to the fact I am a transfer student, I receive the lowest priority for class registration. My first year, I had 1 full time professor simply because all of the other classes were filled to the brim.

Local Atmosphere: There is a lot of convenience in the area as far as activities and shopping go. Grocery stores and restaurants are located in close proximity. Along with that there is a movie theater and a frozen yogurt shop near by which are both walking distance. However, the local community is rather dangerous and sadly enough possess many homeless. The crime warnings issued to students are rather frequent, especially in evening hours.

Academics: Azusa Pacific University's School of Business provides a variety of courses pertinent to my specific major, business management. The school also provides world renowned guest speakers to come present their motivational stories. The speaker series really helped me and inspired me to choose my career path. However, Azusa Pacific University lacks internship/job opportunities. They have very limited resources and lack specific job opportunities that relate to my career.

Health & Safety: From my experience, the school's safety and security on campus would be described as dangerous. The school has provided multiple on-campus safety personnel but they still fail to maintain a sound environment. There were several incidents in which my friends knew of someone in the campus who were victims of sexual assault and theft. Ultimately, I believe the campus could take further preventative measures to create a safe environment for the students.

2 College Junior

Academics: The registration process is very difficult. From my experience, the undergraduate registrar has misguided me with wrong information or they did not answer my questions. Some of the faculties have no knowledge on the school's curriculum or criteria. Therefore, it is very difficult to choose what courses to take and be aware of the next steps to fulfilling the school's requirements for graduation.

Off-Campus Housing: There is quite a bit of violence surrounding the school. It's best to live on campus or at home.

Campus Strictness: Mandatory Chapel for undergraduate students could present potential issues when students have class and are unable to meet the mandatory chapel requirements.

Majors: I am very happy with the mathematics program at my university. I would do it all over again even if it has been extremely difficult. I look forward to becoming a math teacher which shouldn't be hard to get hired as.

5 College Senior

Majors: As a mathematics major going into education, I will be student teaching. That requires alot of time on my part and I do not get paid.

5 College Senior

Majors: I love the mathematics program at my school. The program is small so we all know each other and have mathematics bbqs often.

3 College Senior

Majors: The process of getting into my Mathematics major was relatively easy.

3 College Senior

Athletics: Varsity sports at Azusa Pacific University are attended, but are not a huge part of campus life.

Campus Dining: Campus Dining is amazing at Azusa Pacific, because they offer a bunch of options for students. We have about eleven different eating areas in total. It is extremely convenient to order food between classes, because students can order online and grab it on the go right away. A couple of the food places open until fairly 12 - 1 am, which are located on the campus of the dorms.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: Azusa Pacific has two separate campuses, however there are about four trolleys that take students from campus to campus. Although some students do not own a car, it does not matter because there are a lot of restaurants, fast food joints, and supermarkets that are located just across the street from the campus.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: I do not own a car, so I am not sure if my answers may be accurate. Any who, I believe the cost is a bit expensive; however, of course the more credits or the longer you are a student there the more priorities you get. Parking is not too bad, but during chapel hours drivers should wish their car can fly. Other than that, I think parking is not too bad.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: There are a lot of beautiful girls at APU. Men are in minority at APU. It can be an adjustment being a male coming into an environment where the ratio of girls to guys is 2 or 3 to 1.

Parking: I thought the parking passes were a little expensive at 110 in addition to the cost of housing. I never had any trouble finding parking on either campus.

3 College Junior

Nightlife: From what I experienced, there was not to much of a nightlife at APU. There is a local bar that a lot of students from APU go to and there are parties at houses that people have.

Diversity: Primarily Caucasian. There are many different races at APU overall.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: The professors genuinely care about their students. Although many professors have office hours, many of them are willing to go out of their way, past their business hours to answer any questions, sit down and drink coffee, or eat lunch with students.
