3 College Junior

Diversity: In my experience it seems that most people are accepted for who they are. There doesn't seem to be a lot of friction between students with differing viewpoints.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: When I was living in the dorm my RA did not really take care of any issues. She basically let everything go so I found that living in the dorm was somewhat difficult.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: I have never felt unsafe while on campus. If you were to call the safety office there is always someone there to answer questions or check something out for you.

5 College Junior

Scholarships: I have had great experience with scholarships and financial aid. I don't receive anything but transfer scholarships and it was convenient to get it all figured out.

3 College Junior

Weather: It changes a lot depending on the day.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: I don't spend a lot of time going to these places. We are in the heart of Kansas City so there is a lot of choices.

3 College Junior

Athletics: Seems like some sports are better than others. Many students have a lot of school spirit.

Local Atmosphere: The atmosphere Avila is located in makes a pretty big difference. It's a small school in a big city so whenever you are bored on campus you can drive 5 miles and find a ton of things to do.

2 College Freshman

Weather: Often times here in Kansas City it rains a lot, its always cold, or snowing, Weather changes constantly.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Avila's dorm rooms are typically 3 times as large as any other college dorm rooms.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: There is no Greek life here at Avila. There is no fraternities or sororities either.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Being in an area of Kansas City surrounded by rich neighborhoods, there usually is nothing to worry about.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Scholarships seem great at first, until you realize our school cost is 30,000$ and the most money you can get is up to 65% of the cost.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: Avila is a very small campus, 50 acres to be exact.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: Compared to other schools it's not that great, but we try to make it the best we can.

3 College Freshman

Parking: The parking at my school is sub par. Its usually pretty hard to find spots.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Avila athletics are slowly becoming more popular. The teams are finally getting good recruits and the games are starting to become enjoyable to watch. From what I hear, the past couple years have not been too great, but this year as a freshman I've got to experience some pretty amazing games and be involved in Avila superfans

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Off-campus housing is pretty great here at Avila. The houses are conveniently located next to the school or at least in a 5 mile radius. The houses typically save you a huge chunk of money compared to dorm rooms, they provide good parking and it also provides a sense of responsibility you don't quite get to experience living on campus.

Academics: Honestly the Pre-Medicine program at Avila is great. The way I my schedule is set up I will have graduated from here in 4 years. The required classes include a lot of science and math classes, but the way they set it up lets you balance out your classes within the four years so you're not cramming in two hard classes in one semester. After I graduate here, I will already have great ties to UMKC or other schools around the area for med school in which my adviser has helped me attain. The job opportunities are endless and Avila has provided me with a great kick start into my career.

5 College Freshman

Academics: The academics here at Avila are top notch. The school only hires the best of the best in each field requiring the highest obtained mastery for each subject. Not only that, the teachers they hire are amazing. They teach in a way that is easily understandable, and they are always available to you, which is hard to come by. I recall just last week I was in need of help with one of my papers I was struggling with in my Literature and Culture class. I emailed my teacher and we met up for lunch at a local bakery down the street discussing my paper over coffee. Teachers like the ones they hire here are hard to come by. As far as the difficulty level for classes goes, Avila is very challenging. The classes require a lot of outside class discussions and study groups, but with teachers and dedicated students like we have here at Avila, it really is not too bad.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel like Im safe while walking from class to class because the security is always riding around campus

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: There is variety of people at this school.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: Everyone accepts each other. There are always people who don't like each other but as a whole it is a very nice place to be.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: Since it is a small school they are very helpful. Everyone in my department knows who I am and help me a lot.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: Winters are very cold and usually get snow that could cancel class but other that that it's nice weather
