Campus Strictness: The University has an enforced policy geared towards each student achieving to the best of his or her abilities but has consequences for those that don't, including probation, which can lead up to expulsion. Campus police are strict on parking, which is limited as it is, and are quick to write tickets and hand out fines to those unfortunate enough to be stuck in a no parking zone with five minutes before class starts.

Diversity: As APSU resides close to a military post, there is of course a huge diversity of religions and races, but by attending this school it is quite easy to see that the school itself, as it may be a reflection of our very own country, is often divided and segregated between those who are willing to accept one another aside from being merely tolerated by other differing groups.

Local Atmosphere: The town is lively and there are many attractions and festivals throughout the year, but much of the shops are practical for the military and while there are many of them, many people have complained of not having much to do in Clarksville.

Campus Dining: There are a lot of options but if you don't buy their meal plan which is bout 1500 a semester then you'll e spending a ton in food because its very very expensive

Facilities: I really like APSU's campus and the facilities that they offer for the students. Also the professors and faculty are always there to help out and guide you in the right direction.

Transportation: I would give the public transportation around APSU with an A because they are all really friendly and have good route that run constently and go everywhere around campus.

2 College Freshman

Parking: Parking on campus is really good before 8, around lunch time, and usually after 4. Any other time you could be driving around for a good 45 min. trying to find any parking.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: APSU has campus phones throughout the campus that go directly to the security office. The campus police will escort you to your dorm, library, or anywhere else you might want to go. APSU has a low crime rate and I do feel secure on campus

5 College Freshman

Majors: I may become an Art major. I have taken a couple of Art classes my first year and have really enjoyed it. The Professor is great and the different art projects are fun. The projects take quite a bit of time, but are worth it in the long run.

4 College Freshman

Majors: Currently a freshman. I have not really declared a major, but I did not have any difficulty getting the classes I wanted. I started the admission process early in my senior year of high school after I had decided on APSU. I did not have to rush around and get everything done at once.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: not really anything exciting but there's meetings from clubs that happen.

5 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: the people at APSU are good people. everybody is seeking a degree and/or could be struggling somehow like you so you really dont have people looking down on you for some reason.

Academics: Academics at Austin Peay are not too bad. Make sure to do research on all the teachers you can so you can best set yourself up for success.

Athletics: Sports at Austin Peay are pretty nice. I pay attention to basketball mostly because I am working towards trying to play basketball here next year if possible.

1 College Junior

Academics: I go to Austin Peay State University and at first I would give this an A based on my freshman year. I am now a junior and have recently found out the classes I have been advised to take were not even in my major, so I now have to take a lot of science classes that may end up hurting me in the longrun. I was using the veterans affairs G.I. bill to help pay for school, but now have to rely on loans because of being told to take the wrong classes by previous advisors.

Campus Strictness: Campus strictness is what a student would normally expect such as making sure to attend class if you want a good grade, having parking decals, and phones in case of emergencies that are easily accessible.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: There are little to no issues concerning the enviornment at Austin Peay, asside from the occasional dorm disturbances, which are quickly and efficiently handled if an administrator is notified.

4 College Freshman

Parking: There is always available parking, if you arrive early enough to snag a spot. If it's your first time on campus, directions are liable to be a hassle, however parking is available.

5 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Austin peay is a very professional school I have never encountered this problem.

Majors: All I had to do was speak to my counselor and enroll online at APSU's one stop. It is very easy and you can look at all courses available at the main campus and at Ft Campbell.

Majors: For my major all we have is legislative internship and working on campaigns. I did the latter and I gained tremendous experience and made tons of great contacts and friends.

3 College Senior

Campus Strictness: The campus does a pretty good job clamping down unruly people.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I love the HHP department at Austin Peay. The classes are interesting and the teachers are very willing to help if you need it.

Campus Dining: Over all, campus food is good but it gets tiring choosing between The Cafe, Subway, Chick-fil-A, a generic burger place, a generic taco stand, a generic Bar-B-Q stand, and a Poppa John's. Of course, if coffee is what you want, we have both an Einstein's Bagels and Starbucks. The fast food stands are of good quality, but the cafe's food generally sucks. It's usually either under-cooked, overcooked, tasteless, or too salty. There's no real in-between and their hours suck. If it's late-night food you're looking for, Subway is open to midnight as are the mini grocery stores scattered about campus.

Diversity: APSU is an extremely diverse University with people from all walks of life, though there are more active Military and military related students than others as we a re a military affiliated University. As far as religion goes, Christianity is the predominant religion, however there are many others that can't be counted out including a fair sized knot of Atheist and Agnostic students, most belonging to APSU's Students for Secular Humanism student organization. Everyone is welcome, we try to get along to the best of our ability. The diversity of sexual orientations on campus was a big thing for me. We have our own gay-Straight Alliance which accepts Everyone and is very active on campus. On the political scale, basing it on the last Presidential election, I'd say that APSU is highly Liberal. there are some conservatives, but they mostly keep it to themselves and don't start trouble. Like any school, we have those people that try to cause trouble, but over-all we are a very accepting school with a niche for everyone.
