3 College Student

Student Body: All Stages of Life; Working-Class – My school seems to be mostly young adults that havent been out of high school for too long but also has a great deal of adults either returning to school to further the career or to finally get the college experience they never had. Most of the sudents are working-class and enjoy what ACC has to offer because the tuition is fairly cheap.

Overall Experience: I'm Liking School – I like my school. I don't have that typical college `pride' in it like other people have, but ACC is giving me an education, which is all that matters. I haven't really attended many events or school functions, but that's not why I'm here. As long as that diploma is on the horizon, I'm happy with my school experience.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Not Bad – My experiences have been satisfactory in every class.

4 Recent Alumnus

Academic Experience: my Major is in education which i think is going very well the work load is not big if i need help i have class mates and teacher to go for help all the time

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: College Life – The school is very small which i like a lot you get to know your teachers and class mates very well which i good because you have someone to go to if you need help with a class or make a study group

4 College Junior

Online Courses: Busniess English – I am currently in an online course called "Business English" it is my first experience with this kind of class and I must say it's not as hard as I thought it would be. But it is not for everyone, if you're not self-desiplined I do not recommend this type of class.

Tuition & Financial Aid: As far as the tuition at ACC the cost is low, but the education is the same if I were to have go to a 4 year college. Their finacial aide office didn't help me at all and they make it really difficult to get any finacial aide, they are not helpful and unwilling to work with you.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: There is a wireless network. I haven't really used it much.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: the thing that makes my school unique is small class size and the school is like a family

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: No idea. I guess I would have to talk to a counselor.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Stuff I Don't Even Know About – I've seen a weight room at one campus, student centers and libraries at every campus, I know that there is a Student Life group that organizes activities for ACC students, and there are clubs and organizations. Other than that I have know idea what else is offered.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Nothing Special – There are several campuses so sometimes you can get a class at the campus nearest you, other times you have to go a bit farther. When taking several classes it is highly likely that you will have to go to different campuses to get to the classes you're taking and you don't really get to know your campus and get lost easily. Everyone's focus there is to get in, get out and start they're career or transfer to a college or university that's better known and accepted.

College Sophomore

Career Services: Career Center Is Helpful – Everyone is happy whenever I walk into a Career Center. They always help me find what I'm looking for. I felt welcomed and at home.

College Sophomore

Online Courses: Registing for the First Time – When I first registered I was a bit nervous because it was my first time. I felt pretty confident once I found a class I needed to take. The help was great. They were so understanding and had some much patient with me that I felt at home.

College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Great Experience – The main reason I chose this school was because of how close the campus is to where I live. I like my experience at my school because the classes are not too huge like in other schools, which is awesome because I don't get distracted that much. Everyone is really nice to you when you come on campus.

Student Body: Unusual Diversity. "Community College" doesn't exactly attract the most prestigious of students. A lot of the students there are people well older than 23 and a few students who actually just graduated high school (And had complications getting into other colleges). Overall there is nothing wrong with this, but to students who recently graduated older students feel like they've been "out of the game" for some time.

Academic Flexibility: Good Kick-Off – Being a community college, courses are fairly short and classes are available at almost any time of day. Although not a "true college" experience, it does provide a good stepping stone for many who plan to transfer to another college. The prices are low, the hours are short and the credits are often very transferable. The only problem I have is getting to school by bus, and even then, they give you a free bus pass for the semester.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: Computer Network – The computer network is pretty decent. I have no problems getting to the website or emails i need. The speed is fast, and every time i need to print something there's no wait.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: Not Many Community Clubs – I thought they would have more community clubs, but they don't there aren't many choices out there for me to choose, thank God I'm here just for two yrs.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: I Like My School – Being in college is a great experience, I like my school, because of the people here, they are very friendly. They don't have as much school spirit as i thought they would have, it's like if I'm in high school all over again, it's like whatever I'm just here to study.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: Class Registration – Registering for classes is easy as pie. You are able to sign up for classes based on the amount of hours you have accumulated. This helps the older students get out quicker, what you might call a "turn and burn" way of getting students in and out so they can pursue their degree/career faster. The college also offers classes Monday through Sunday so you have no excuse in finding courses. There are 8 campusus all over the Greater Austin area which is helpful for commuting purposes.

4 College Junior

Student Body: Most Transfer – My school consists of mostly transfer students. This college offers many basic courses as well as higher level courses of all disciplines. Most students who attend are receiving credits to transfer to UT or Texas State.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Great Starter School – I like ACC, it is a good transition from high school to college. However, it does feel a little too much like HS because everyone from HS goes there. That's not the colleges fault though! Most of the teachers, advisors, and other staff are a great help. Every once in awhile you run into someone that you wish did NOT work there.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Very Flexible – I am able to take night and evening classes around my work schedule which is the only way I'd ever be able to attend college. Plus with 6 campuses in the Austin area there is always a campus close by no matter where I choose to live.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Unique Teaching Techniques – With my school, our classes are small so we are able to go on field trips and museum tours with the art classes and can have very intense class discussion which is not available in 500 person + lecture halls. It gives you more room to make closer connections and network easier than if you were surrounded by massive amounts of people that you just barely got to know there names.
