4 College Junior

Academic Experience: I am a nursing major and I think they have a very well respected program within the schools and the community. Employers welcome ACC graduates knowing that they received a very good education. My only complaint is the program is very small compared to the demand. You are almost automatically denied your first time applying. Also they have a lot of fluctuations of teachers.

Campus Resources: Lots of Locations – I think ACC is a good school because they have so many locations and they offer weekend classes but it would be nice to have something where you felt more connected if you have a problem.

Academic Flexibility: As soon as I was admited into the program of nursing I was confident that I could go in and speak with someone regarding scholarships and get personalized information for me. I got the run around from office to office and once I did find the office that handled that type of request they just forwarded me to the general scholarship page that the school offers. I think the community feeling is a little lost in the college.

Academic Experience: Working on My Associates in Government. I had no idea I love politics so much, until my counselor asked me to try it. and now I will be done with my degree on fall 2012. most of it done online, the workload is not that bad, curriculum is very clear and specific.

Campus Resources: Computer Lab. the computer lab hours are great open from morning to night. and there is always a computer open and never had any network problems

Campus Resources: Testing Centes Is Great. I love the testing center at the round rock campus, is huge not a lot of people at what ever time I go. Is quite and the staff there is great

Overall Experience: I Love It – I am a housewife, and stay at home mom, and like I say my online teacher are always there when I need help. My counselor always receives me with a smile and ready to answer all my questions.

Campus Resources: Online Classes – I have been taking online courses for the last 4 semester and I love it. The teachers are very well prepared, the classes are easy to understand and follow.

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: Many Options – At ACC, there are different campuses all over Austin that offer different facilities and classes. Having the different options is nice because there might be a really great library at one campus and then a really great student union for food and coffee at another.

Online Courses: Learning to Study – The fact that my very first college class was online was a little scary as I was also taking high school classes. Once I started however, it became more of an issue of learning which sections of the textbook were the most important and how I was going to be tested. The practice tests helped a lot but when I got to the midterms, topics that I didn't think were as critical were on the tests. Throughout the course, I was able to develop better study habits and it helped me with other classes as well.

Academic Experience: Classes Are Interesting – i love my school but the only thing that sucks is that the major im going for is not at the location i attend.. i can take all my core classes but the other ones im going to have to relocate

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: Proffesors Involved – austin community college is a great way to start your career path. so far the teachers i've taken have really worked hard to see myself and other students achieve their goals. i would highly recommend attend this college before any university.

3 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: Ease of Transfer – ACC makes it very easy to take core classes to transfer to a University. They even have all of the resources you need to articulate each class into the university standard.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Extremely Flexible – This school is very accommodating when it comes to class availability. If you work full-time, you will easily be able to find a majority of the classes offered in the evenings and night for you to still pursuit a degree.

3 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: Efficient Most of the Time – The financial aid office has great staff and they are usually very helpful with many inquiries. There have been a few times however where I had to jump through many hoops and converse with a myriad of other people just to end up starting over again with the issue not being resolved.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: The resouce desk was very kind and helpful in helping me get my ID and parking pass.

College Senior

Career Services: Never Been There – I have not visited the career center at my campus, but i have found many of the other areas on campus to be helpful to me.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: The professors at Austin Community College understand that the majority of their students work, and what I mean by this, is that the professors are willing to work with the students and give assignments out well before the deadline.

4 College Sophomore

Online Courses: Manage Your Time – Online courses can be really great if you don't have the time in your schedule to go to campus but make sure you stay on top of the course work because it goes by quickly.

2 College Sophomore

Student Body: It's an interesting group of people. There are a lot of older students returning back to school so as a freshman it made it difficult to meet new people.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The Teachers Are Great – I enjoyed all of my professors at ACC. I wish that the administration was half as competent as the teaching staff. Get used to registering for classes alone and advising yourself on what you need to get credits as the employees are useless.

4 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: It's a Deal – ACC is bargain compared to 4 year universities. You're receiving the same level of education for a quarter of the cost.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: Open Door – Many of the students have a different background. They dont reject people.

2 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Not Enough Contact – This school is just focused on the high schoolers not the other students transferring into the school. They dont return calls and there are always long waiting lines to see someone.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: At Austin Community College we are truly blessed to have the quality of resources and staff that are available for us.
