College Freshman

Career Services: Just Started – Unfortunately I have no certain grade right now reason is because I just started my summer classes but so far I am doing well in my Government class and Public Speaking class. I am very positive about my future grade which will soon appear.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Flexability and Inexpensive – I chose this school because the classes were flexible and it wasnt very expensive.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Great Professors – I have had great professors at austin community college. Very knowledgable.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Good Community College – I have had a great experience while taking classes at ACC.

2 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Prepare to get the runaround. ACC makes it incredibly hard to complete their admissions process. Prepare to wait a long time for them to respond to inquiries about your admission status. It took three days to hear from the Records department about my transcript -- they lost it when it was sent in.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: So far I have loved the flexibility of the classes. From online classes, to 6 week classes. I have the flexibility to work with all aspects of my and my families schedule.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: When in-district, their tuition rates are very affordable. They definitely allow me as a parent/student to continue taking classes without feeling a strain in my budget.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Resources are available to students, computers, rooms, printing, copying.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Academic Experience – So far I am very pleased with the classes I have taken and my professors.

4 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: I believe that tuition is decent and financial aid has been great, the department handles financial aid in a very well manner. I have had no issues.

2 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Why Am I Here? Sometimes when registering for classes, it's almost as expensive as a university. So I have to wonder, why am I here working on my prerequisites if it's just going to cost the same as a university? Courses are generally not flexible, meaning you don't have the luxury of missing a class without falling extremely behind.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: Professors Don't Seem to Care – A good majority of professors don't seem to give a flip about the student's living situation, whether it be not having the time to do things for class or why they seem to be slipping in class. I realize it's college and we're adults, but I've noticed most of the professors just seem to want to get in, do their lecture, and go home. Class registration is normally relatively easy, but there are countless times where it has caused complications that require me to to the campus and sort it out--and I'm not the only one.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: For the most part, the teachers do a good job of actually teaching and making sure you understand the material. Of course, there are some teachers who have no idea what they're doing, butt that's why it's a very good idea to research your teacher well before the semester ends. I've found that about half of the teachers are competent and know how to teach and help, but the other half have no right to be teaching. It's also the same with trying to contact the teachers and their ability to update grades, half are good half are bad.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: I am a nursing major and I think they have a very well respected program within the schools and the community. Employers welcome ACC graduates knowing that they received a very good education. My only complaint is the program is very small compared to the demand. You are almost automatically denied your first time applying. Also they have a lot of fluctuations of teachers.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: Lots of Locations – I think ACC is a good school because they have so many locations and they offer weekend classes but it would be nice to have something where you felt more connected if you have a problem.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: As soon as I was admited into the program of nursing I was confident that I could go in and speak with someone regarding scholarships and get personalized information for me. I got the run around from office to office and once I did find the office that handled that type of request they just forwarded me to the general scholarship page that the school offers. I think the community feeling is a little lost in the college.

5 Recent Alumnus

Academic Experience: Working on My Associates in Government. I had no idea I love politics so much, until my counselor asked me to try it. and now I will be done with my degree on fall 2012. most of it done online, the workload is not that bad, curriculum is very clear and specific.

5 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: Computer Lab. the computer lab hours are great open from morning to night. and there is always a computer open and never had any network problems

5 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: Testing Centes Is Great. I love the testing center at the round rock campus, is huge not a lot of people at what ever time I go. Is quite and the staff there is great

5 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: I Love It – I am a housewife, and stay at home mom, and like I say my online teacher are always there when I need help. My counselor always receives me with a smile and ready to answer all my questions.

5 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: Online Classes – I have been taking online courses for the last 4 semester and I love it. The teachers are very well prepared, the classes are easy to understand and follow.

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: Many Options – At ACC, there are different campuses all over Austin that offer different facilities and classes. Having the different options is nice because there might be a really great library at one campus and then a really great student union for food and coffee at another.

3 College Freshman

Online Courses: Learning to Study – The fact that my very first college class was online was a little scary as I was also taking high school classes. Once I started however, it became more of an issue of learning which sections of the textbook were the most important and how I was going to be tested. The practice tests helped a lot but when I got to the midterms, topics that I didn't think were as critical were on the tests. Throughout the course, I was able to develop better study habits and it helped me with other classes as well.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: Classes Are Interesting – i love my school but the only thing that sucks is that the major im going for is not at the location i attend.. i can take all my core classes but the other ones im going to have to relocate

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: Proffesors Involved – austin community college is a great way to start your career path. so far the teachers i've taken have really worked hard to see myself and other students achieve their goals. i would highly recommend attend this college before any university.
