Academic Experience: My Major – I'm a Microbiology major. The classes are definitely challenging but this will be helpful for the career I am planning to pursue. Since I am a science major, I have to deal with a lot of long hour labs and intensive critical thinking.

Campus Resources: The resource center is good and I like the availability of inofrmation available.

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: I have not had the chance to use the career center but there is always someone there and ready to help if needed.

5 College Sophomore

Student Body: The student body is diverse in culture and age. Ireally liked going to school where the mix of people are different and everyone has something new to bring to the pot.

Overall Experience: I am happy with my choice at ACC as a stepping stone for my education. I am looking at transferring to a major university and ACC is a perfect way to get into the swing of things :)

Tuition & Financial Aid: Be on Time – I dont think that ACC is very knowledgeable about all the financial help that could be available to students and if you do not fill out their financial aid application on time you will not receive aid on time to pay tuition.

Academic Experience: Class Registraion Process – The ACC onlie web page is a wreck. trying to work in that sight and get some where you might just want to forget it. I dont know what they were thinking. when you clink on links they just bring you right back to where you where when you started. like going around in one big circle. And they when your done doning that then you just get mad and say forget it.

When you go down the school they say oh well you can do it online. Ya right talke about conffusing.... They just direct you to computer and say okay this is how. Normally they dont help with the registraion at all. But if you make them do there jobs then they will...

Campus Resources: The Network Is Slow. When everyone is trying to work on the computers. It becomes very hard to get your stuff done in a short amount of time. Teachers are trying to load something for the school, and it always seems to have to buffer for a few mins.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: Theres Pretty Good Resources. They have computer labs open till 8pm, some classes dont get out till 9:30pm. I have never seen a library but then agin most-everything can be found on a computer.

2 College Senior

Campus Resources: Theres Not Enought Communication Skills – communication is everything in life, if they cant communicate proberly, then something is wrong. everyone in this world depends on technology which is great to a exstent. email a studdent is not always the best way to get a hold of someone. what if they dont have a computor or a smart phone to look at there emails?? i dont think anyone ever thought of that. im just saying, pick up a phone make a call dont just email and assume they get the email.

Academic Flexibility: They Tried but Not Hard Enough – I love the flexiblity but the people are terrible at their jobs

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: It's Fine – I haven't received financial aid. I have been paying for school with my money. I have had no problems so far.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: Facilities Are Okay – The Rio Grande Campus is an old high school. Some classrooms are better than others. There are lots of spots to study in between classes. On campus cafeteria is okay at best.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: Budget Issues – The Rio grand campus has a smaller budget than other ACC campuses. This was especially felt over the summer with a lack of a tutor in anatomy and physiology labs. However, science classes that I have taken have SI programs, which prove to be helpful.

3 College Junior

Student Body: Hard Workers – My school consists of first time college students and students returning to find better employment upon graduation. The majority of students I have met in my classes are hard workers and often juggle a heavy school load with work.

College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Flexible Hours – I chose ACC for a few reasons. The main reason i chose it was because i do not know which univeristy i would like to go to yet and this gives me a chance to get my associates degree and time to think where i would like to go. Second reason is the have a wide range of horus wehn i can take my classes and because i work and plan on dancing as well this will be very useful for me.

College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: Get It Done – You want to do your financial aid and tutition as soon as possible, so you have one less thing to worry about while you are in college. Once you get your financial aid done it will make payments and other fees less of a hassel.

College Sophomore

Online Courses: Check Blackboard – I ahve not recieved any homework asignments as of right now with my two online courses. So to make sure I am not getting behind i check blackboard for any recent updates on my classes.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: The classes are small which in helpful. Tuition is lower than a University. Teachers are willing to help, ACC offers a learning lab for students. The parking is not so great.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Flexibility Is More Than a Class Schedule – No matter how flexible the course, College still requires a lot of schedule rearranging. Working a full time job and taking full time courses has been difficult with the amount of studying and projects I have.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: First Time Student in My 30'S – I have been at ACC for several years now. I entered college at 30 after not having been in school since I graduated High School. So far the professors have been helpful, as long as I ask for help. I have enjoyed the fact that many professors expect you to take the initative in class and on your own time.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: Facilities are kept clean and updated, everything is pretty nice and organized. People take pride in the facilities at the school.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: Campus Has Green Incentives – I get a free parking pass and close spot due to the fact that I have a hybrid car, additionally, you get incentives for recycling and other things.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: Mostly Functional – Sometimes spaces are limited, and printers are down, so it can be a fight, but for the most part you can get access to computers and printers fairly easily.

5 Recent Alumnus

Student Body: The student body is diverse from age, race, gender, and more. Most people are trying to use ACC as a stepping stone to get to the next part of their journey.
