5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Overall a lot of resources available and if not available professors try their best to find way to get help

4 College Sophomore

Career Services: I can learn and apply myself, anything else is the students problem. All doors are open for me as far as the university point of view.

4 College Student

Student Body: Have lots of perks to get the students in a good place. Has activities and food available during most semester except summer.

4 College Junior

Online Courses: Some classes offer online textbooks. The instructors give adequate deadlines for completing homework and taking tests. Questions are answered in a timely manner.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: Limited availability for those who are employed full-time and attending classes.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: Very limited hours for those who are employed full-time.

Campus Resources: Austin Community college resources are great for every student

5 College Junior

Career Services: Austin Community College is great to get a feel for what college is like and prepare you for your four year college choice

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: The computer labs are always open and is alway accessible to students. You need a student ID# to use the computer. The first 15 pages are free to print then 10 cent for any after. If you need computer help, there is someone there to assist. You can access wifi anywhere on campus with student ID# and password. Unless you are taking an online course, you can probably get away with just using the school computer. Laptops are available for in-library check out.

Academic Experience: My major at Acc is General Studies of Science, its also of science classes of course. Was not much of a studier but these classes I had to spend a lot more time with and get a better study habit. Which I need for the future and I love that it has pushed me.

Campus Resources: Acc has many campuses and each one has their own strong side with different things. For example Rio Grande I love the library for studying but it can get crowded also. For Eastview I love the student life and involvement between the campus and students. Plus the library is never too too crowded.

Campus Resources: Love the access to computers and the labs are always open and if not then the library is open during the weekends.

Campus Resources: My school has great sizes for students in individual classes. You are able to meet your teacher one on one in order to get an better relationship with them.

Recent Alumnus

Student Body: ACC is a varied bunch. Most 4-yrs have a certain age group, whereas community colleges can have gifted middle-schoolers all the way up to returning elderly. There's a little bit of everything. Don't be surprised if you run into 16yr olds and 70yr olds in the same class, but it depends on the course field as well.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Financial Aid at ACC is cut and dry. The financial aid faculty know how to make your visit as short and simple as possible. Usually, a seemingly complicated financial situation can be put "in English" with one visit. However, during rush times at semester beginning and end, the wait at the office can be long. They don't e-mail you when something is missing though. Individuals need to stay on top of their financial needs by checking in with them BEFORE classes begin.

Online Courses: Online courses are really good if you prefer your own methods of study. I'd rather lay on my bed when I feel like reading a textbook than not get enough sleep and try to go in. If you get bad grades because of attendance, online classes are your true savior. You can express your intellect, without the annoying setbacks of time and space. I find this more motivating, but I'm a pretty responsible person and know what needs to get done. It helps to have a dry wipe calendar so you can easily keep track of when due dates are. I took history online and never had to write an essay.

College Junior

Academic Experience: I've recently changed my major from Sec. LAN Admin to English, so I can't really say much. I do know that for the few courses I've taken related to the previous major, I wouldn't like to peruse it for another 2 years.

Student Body: The diversity is dependent on which campus you go to. You'll find a lot more recent high school grads at the SAC than you would, say, Riverside or Rio Grande. I think that goes for the majority of categories listed. This is my own thought, an individual that was an Atheist would probably find more acceptance if they were Christian or some other commonly-know religion. A transgendered individual, such as myself, has a fairly hard time with school, as it's an ongoing battle to maintain my 'stealth', not have the teacher call my legal name out, and just generally ruin everything. It's happened before, and I've had to drop the class because it just because so uncomfortable to be disrespected by 24 other students. So, I suppose sexual diversity is very low, as well is acceptance.

Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: I have never used any of the facilities on campus.

Student Body: It is a very poorly run college. I've taken classes at 3 other colleges and have a Bachelors. I've never run into as many problems just enrolling in classes as I have here.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: there is a vast majority of different people but the people are what make acc a school, there are some wierd ones and some that are just focused.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: there are some classes that you would not think should fit under the degree plan and then there are some classes that fit the degree plan perfectly.

3 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: for the quality of the courses i feel that the tuition is ok, it is a little high but compared to out of state cost and universities the tuition is fairly descent, but i feel the financial aid could be more broad on the requirement there are some people that are going for a two year degree and can only pay for one or two classes a semester and finacional would help, but those people make "too" much to qualify for the financial aid.

3 College Sophomore

Online Courses: teachers are willing to help you get the grade that you are deserving of and some of the counselors are willing to help you.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: first 15 pages are free, after that have to pay for copies.
