3 College Freshman

Weather: The weather during the summer and fall is fabulous. Unfortunately weather during winter is brutal and lasts forever.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: The financial aid process is good, however, if you are a middle class kid who's parents don't make enough to pay for your schooling but make too much for a lot of support from financial aid, you don' get much.

4 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: The town runs in to other cities nearby making it feel like a town very spread out. Easy to catch the train to Chicago.

3 College Senior

Nightlife: Only 45 minutes from Chicago so can catch the train there if you want big city excitement. Lots of stuff to do on campus without leaving.

4 College Senior

Campus Strictness: The teachers are very interested in doing everything that they can for your success in both academics and atheltics. Meet with team members individually 1x/week to review grades and classes. GPA requirement enforced to play on team.

4 College Senior

Academics: Probably athletic training, physical therapy or coaching.

4 College Senior

Diversity: Quite a bit of diversity on campus, especially athletes.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: I started early in the application process and was given information immediately on what scholarships I would qualify. Very competative as a private school with any public university after scholarships, even an out of state person.

4 College Senior

Campus Housing: Not required to live on campus freshman year, but good way to meet people. Will probably move off campus in houses provided for lacrosse team for rental my sophomore year.

4 College Senior

Computers: Wireless access and plug ins everywhere. Good support for personal laptops.

4 College Senior

Greek Life: Organizations include Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority, Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Sigma Delta Gamma Sorority, Sigma Gamma Rao Sorority

4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: Very laid back and comfortable clothing with many people wearing athletic clothing of sweats, hoodies. Athletic teams hang together and are very supportive of each other. Big family

5 College Senior

Athletics: Alot of great support from the students and surrounding community. Nice to see that lacrosse is the number 1 sport even above football.

4 College Senior

Weather: Really no effect as living on campus.

4 College Senior

Drug Safety: Random drug testing of athletes at least 3x/year so athletes are less likely to participate as will be kicked off the athletic team

3 College Freshman

Facilities: There is not much student life here, because there isn't much of a community feeling. The athletic center for students sucks, and the library hasn't been updated in what seems like a very long time. It has no air conditioning, and all the books are extremely old, so it smells musty in there

3 College Freshman

Facilities: The campus is small, which is convenient for students

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: It's a good school, however I do not believe it is for me. I don't feel like part of the community, and there are some times I just don't want to be here. If i could do it all over i would not pick this school, because it hasn't really met my expectations as far as a college experience should go.

4 College Freshman

Majors: there are plenty of opportunities for an internship

3 College Freshman

Majors: Getting into a program is not too difficult, theres just a lot of stuff involved with it

1 College Freshman

Parking: We do not have enough parking for all the students that go here. Students have to park in the residential area, for which of not careful, they can get tickets for. Although the parking pass fee is reasonable ($25), it gets to be a waste of money just because half the time students are not able to even use the parking area.

3 College Freshman

Academics: The professors are iffy. Some are really great and friendly, and some you even question how they got a doctorates. Registration is a hassle because no one knows how to register on their own. Classes fill up quickly, especially because of all the students we have had this year.

1 College Freshman

Campus Dining: The food here sucks! There are only two places to eat, the third option is a cart that is part of the commuter plan, and it's probably the most decent place to get a good snack. The cafeteria food is questionable, and there's not too much variety. There is no fresh cut fruit available, you must purchase separately with"points". As far as "the spot" goes, the food is bad quality, and the people who work there aren't always friendly. I would never eat any kind of "meat" from there, because once it made me gag. Everything else is pretty much fried, and there are not many healthy options

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I'm not involved with Greek life, so I don't know much about it. But they don't seem to recruit as many people as you would think. However, they do throw some events that all the students are invited to.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: AU tries to give any incoming student a scholarship. We have many people out of state here because of a sport scholarship. They also work well with students to get the financial help they need by offering grants and student loans
