Local Atmosphere: There is a lot of crime by my school. Many students are either hurt, threatened, or harassed by locals or other students. The campus safety does not even do any type of investigation. They only send out emails giving us reminders on what we are not supposed to do (such as leave a dorm door unlocked). One situation, there was some students who had their room broken into within a 20 minute time frame when no one was in their dorm. A gaming system was taken and a couple of laptops were stolen. All campus security did was send out an email saying to not leave your doors unlocked. But their door was locked. There was no further investigation done by campus security. THis goes for a lot of crimes around here.

Local Atmosphere: It is nice to have a walk on the campus of University of Minnesota especially during the spring time. The Mall of America and Target right next door makes shopping a little too easy. I would say that living in Minneapolis is big plus but you still have to be careful around certain hours. Big cities also imply that we hear of criminal activity more. Knowing that, you avoid going to certain places at certain hours , by yourself .

Local Atmosphere: Minneapolis is a constantly evolving area, Minneapolis has many attractions that are promoted throughout the college campus like an event at the Mall of America, and a great clinic (only a short light rail ride away), the Mill city Museum, and a ton of cultural and different lifestyle (that target different ethnic eaters, vegetarians, out of state and southern eaters, and just average every day foods) restaurants close to the campus.

Local Atmosphere: Minneapolis has an abundance of attractions and entertainment

Local Atmosphere: The locals are almost entirely Somali, so I don't see a great deal of kindness from the locals. There are alot of restaurants and the Mall of America isn't too far. Plus, the school is close to downtown, so a lot of stuff is close like football games or concerts.
