Weather: Spring comes early and fall stays late here, which is very nice. It will rarely snow in winter, and when it does, expect a fewdays off. Being in Alabama, there is a lot of precipitation, but it usually comes in downpours, which means there are plenty of beautiful, sunny days throughout the year.

Computers: Auburn offers plenty of computers, though everyone has their own laptop. Not everyone has a printer though, and there are plenty of accessable printers available in the library. There are even computer labs and printers in some of the apartment complexes which come in handy sometimes. The only complaint I would have is about the atrocious WiFi. Keeping a connection around campus is tough, I would expect everyone at Auburn has felt victimized by the terrible connection.

Local Atmosphere: Auburn is a quaint, quiet town. Which is nice if you like that. As a lively college student I find it extremely boring. The shopping options are minimal, and I guess the only good part about Auburn is the fact that it's less than two hours from Atlanta.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a ton of places to eat off campus. Most are the typical chain restaurants, but there are a few local ones that aregreat as well. Recently the Auburn area has even gotten a couple new restuarants, so there is really always something to choose from.

Health & Safety: I can't think of a time that I didn't feel safe on campus.

Majors: As a large school, there are a ton of possible majors to choose from. Might not offer as many as some of the even larger schools, but you'll probably find what you need here, and if you decide to change majors, it will probably be here too.

Majors: I originally came in to school as a wildlife management major. I have decided to change my major, completely based off my own preferences. The wildlife school at Auburn is incredible and there are so many oppurtunties for internships or even just day long oppurtinities helping possible employers.

Campus Housing: I live on campus and the Village is the best (even South Donahue). We have our own dining facilities, laundry, and we're five minutes from central campus and the football stadium

Campus Strictness: They're pretty lenient. I've never seen someone get into huge trouble here.

Transportation: Good luck walking everywhere. Especially when it rains.

Nightlife: If you're not 19, then you can't get into a bar. So you have to go to Frat houses.

Local Atmosphere: There's a reason why everyone goes home so often. There's only one mall, and it's "where clothes go to die" so very picked over and nothing really good. We don't even have a Macy's. And the "stores" are more like clearance bins. Boutique shops are better, but pricey. Everyone buys online. And if you're from out of state, make friends with someone with a car because the transit doesn't run on the weekends.

Weather: August to November is hot, then December is bitterly cold. And up until March, it stays cold. So get used to wacky Alabama weather

Drug Safety: Alcohol is probably the most prevalent but it's college, so we're all kind of used to it.

Athletics: We have literally the best Student Athletic Center ever. The Rec center is brand new and everyone goes there. It's better than any other gym I've ever been to.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: It depends on what you're looking for. If you want to spend the money, then you can get a really nice place that's close to campus. And parking off campus is better than parking on campus.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: I would definitely bring a car or make friends with people who have cars. It's harder to go to parties or outside of auburn if you don't have a car.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Living on campus is fun when you have friends who live on campus as well. Even though the newer dorms are expensive try to get into South Donahue or The Village, these are the better dorms plus you get your own room. Roommates are okay until you get into a small confrontation. Try to avoid getting into arguments over stupid things and find someone you know for sure you would actually like having as a roommate.

Computers: I have my own laptop and printer so I've never had to use the school's tools.

Nightlife: Parties are fun but sometimes they are over-hyped. Being 18 you can't go to bars so unless you're going to the club or a house party not much else to do.

Overall, students are very happy to be in Auburn. They love the people around them and the experiences that they get to have.

College is what you make of it. If you sit at home and don't do anything, then you won't enjoy yourself no matter where you go. With all the options you have offered to you at Auburn, you have to try to not have a good time. And with a student body that is so happy to be here, it's also hard not to get swept up in the excitement. As always, it's a good idea to visit a college or university before making a final decision. Make sure you're as happy and comfortable as you can possibly be.
