Scholarships: I applied for financial aid for last year and I found out within a couple of days! When I ad to go to talk to someone in Mary Martin Hall about accept more money, they were very willing to help!

Athletics: Athletics is an extremely huge part of the Auburn community.

Local Atmosphere: Auburn is a small town but there's charm to it that's hard to resist! It's a big family!

Diversity: A bunch of rich, white, conservatives.... Not very diverse at all. Most of the students don't even seem to promote diversity. Not only are most people the same race, they also all dress the same..... Which is find weird. So yeah.... Diversity...... No.

Academics: US News has Auburn ranked as a top 100 university. This makes sense, as the school has one of the lowest average GPA's of any university in the nation. The reason for this, the rigor or the course work. Teachers make classes pretty difficult, and unlike what I hear at most schools, these teachers seem reluctant to curve grades. What you get is what you get.

Nightlife: Nightlife at Auburn....... I mean..... There's sometimes stuff to do..... I would have expected a lot more from a big SEC school. The downtown is rather small and most parties revolve around frats, which honestly usually aren't that fun.

Off-Campus Housing: Sooooooo many incredible off campus housing options, and at really good prices. Being from the north, the cost of apartment living doesn't even compare. There are plenty of options for what you want. I lived off campus my freshman year and the apartment complex set me up with 3 random based on common interests, and it has been great.

Transportation: I love the transit system, it is very convenient and drops students off at multiple spots on campus. Whether you are already on campus and want a ride to the other side, or you want to take the transit from your apartment to campus, it is easy to find a shuttle to do so.

Scholarships: I was just out of reach from gaining a scholarship, but I did receieve some financial aid. I was suprised that given my situation I did not receieve more aid. Auburn seems a bit reluctant to give out financial aid.

Drug Safety: As compared to other colleges I have been to, drugs are not very prevelant at Auburn. Some students smoked marijuana and occasionally you may find some who partake in using cocaine, but for the most part, drugs aren't a huge problem. Alcohol, on the other hand.... Well..... It is an SEC school after all.

Greek Life: Greek life is incredible.... If you're apart of it. It truly runs much of the social life at Auburn. Sororities flock to the concourse, where they promote their activities and what not. Everyone I know who is apart of Greek life loves it, but that's expected. In a way Greeks sort of alienate themselves from anyone outside of their fraternities or sororities. If you're a rich, white, conservative the chances are you will fit in very well with Greek life, and if not..... Auburn might not be the school for you.

Weather: Spring comes early and fall stays late here, which is very nice. It will rarely snow in winter, and when it does, expect a fewdays off. Being in Alabama, there is a lot of precipitation, but it usually comes in downpours, which means there are plenty of beautiful, sunny days throughout the year.

Computers: Auburn offers plenty of computers, though everyone has their own laptop. Not everyone has a printer though, and there are plenty of accessable printers available in the library. There are even computer labs and printers in some of the apartment complexes which come in handy sometimes. The only complaint I would have is about the atrocious WiFi. Keeping a connection around campus is tough, I would expect everyone at Auburn has felt victimized by the terrible connection.

Local Atmosphere: Auburn is a quaint, quiet town. Which is nice if you like that. As a lively college student I find it extremely boring. The shopping options are minimal, and I guess the only good part about Auburn is the fact that it's less than two hours from Atlanta.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a ton of places to eat off campus. Most are the typical chain restaurants, but there are a few local ones that aregreat as well. Recently the Auburn area has even gotten a couple new restuarants, so there is really always something to choose from.

Majors: As a large school, there are a ton of possible majors to choose from. Might not offer as many as some of the even larger schools, but you'll probably find what you need here, and if you decide to change majors, it will probably be here too.

Majors: I originally came in to school as a wildlife management major. I have decided to change my major, completely based off my own preferences. The wildlife school at Auburn is incredible and there are so many oppurtunties for internships or even just day long oppurtinities helping possible employers.

Overall, students are very happy to be in Auburn. They love the people around them and the experiences that they get to have.

College is what you make of it. If you sit at home and don't do anything, then you won't enjoy yourself no matter where you go. With all the options you have offered to you at Auburn, you have to try to not have a good time. And with a student body that is so happy to be here, it's also hard not to get swept up in the excitement. As always, it's a good idea to visit a college or university before making a final decision. Make sure you're as happy and comfortable as you can possibly be.
