Computers: Auburn offers many Internet services to students living off campus; however, most of us just get cable modems from the cable company because it is a lot faster. (It will usually run you about $40.) The computer labs on campus all run off of a T1 connection, and usually, they aren't very crowded (because there are so many), but bringing a computer would probably be your best bet.

Niche User

Computers: Most people here have their own computers, but computer labs are plentiful. There are labs in most of the bigger departments, the student center, and the library.

Niche User

Computers: WebMail is Auburn's official means of communication. If your teachers need to cancel class, then they e-mail you. They e-mail you quizzes, homework, practice tests, and grades, so it's essential that you check WebMail everyday.

Niche User

Computers: It's always good to bring a personal computer just because you can do work at home on your own time and don't have to worry about if the labs are open or available, and the campus charges to print stuff. The labs are good and usually not too packed until midterm and final time.

Niche User

Computers: If you go to a computer lab in the middle of the day, then you'll find that it will be pretty crowded. You can usually find one or two open seats, but if it isn't a big deal, then I'd recommend going at night.

Off-Campus Dining: There are lots of places on the edge of campus in `downtown.' Some great places there are Mellow Mushroom (pizza), Amsterdam's (very nice), and lots of other various restaurants.

Niche User

Off-Campus Dining: Most of the people I know eat off campus (off campus is like a block). There is a great pizza place one block off campus called Mellow Mushroom. There is also a bagel shop that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It turns into a bar at night, and it is a fun place to hang out and study. There are too many to name, but you will always have somewhere and something to eat!

Niche User

Off-Campus Dining: Everyone I know eats at Barbecue House on College Street. Very good lunch, even better breakfast, and not too hard on the wallet. Stay away from the Chinese places close to campus-bad reputations and the food isn't great.

Niche User

Off-Campus Dining: Momma Goldberg's Deli is really good. I eat there like five times a week.

Niche User

Off-Campus Dining: There's the usual Chili's and Ruby Tuesday's kind of places, but if you want to try some local restaurants, I'd recommend Momma Goldberg's, Niffer's, and the Terra Cotta Café.

Niche User

Off-Campus Dining: There are more than enough eateries available. Some of the places I enjoy to eat at are Mellow Mushroom (pizza parlor), the Brick Oven (pizza parlor), Quizno's subs, Laredo's (Mexican), and, of course, you have all of your normal fast food places.

Niche User

Off-Campus Dining: There is anything you could want from a deli (McAlister's) to pizza (Mellow Mushroom) to trendy restaurants (Amsterdam's Café) to soul food (Tine's Country Cottage) to bars (Bodega's, War Eagle Supper Club, Olde Auburn Ale House). I love to eat so I could go on and on. There is great food all around.

Niche User

Off-Campus Dining: The restaurants are pretty good. Mostly pizza places and wings. The Mellow Mushroom is the best pizza place in town. Auburn City Limits is the best restaurant in Auburn, but it's pretty pricey.

Niche User

Off-Campus Dining: Look for those who take TigerCard because if your parents pay for that, then they'll receive the bill. Some places that accept TigerCard are Domino's pizza, Cold Stone ice cream shop, the Auburn mall, Toomer's, and many more.

Niche User

Off-Campus Dining: Auburn has a unique variety of restaurants off campus and, since downtown is so close, they aren't hard to get to. The only problem is that the same types of places seem to be going up. I love eating pizza and sandwiches and all that, but I wish we had some really good ethnic food restaurants. There are no decent Chinese or Mexican restaurants here. For a college town, you would think that you would find at least something a little authentic instead of greasy noodles or burritos.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: Guys are guys, and girls are girls. There is someone for everyone, but what is most important is how nice and kind they are to each other. Everyone here is awesome in one way or another.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: You'll find all sorts of guys here: city boys, ravers, rednecks, and lots of good ol' country boys, too. The girls are pretty much just Southern belles. They are incredibly hot (for the most part). If you aren't from around here, then it'll take a little while for you to get used to the accent.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: Auburn's guys are cute. You have your good ol' boys, your frat guys, and some hot ones in between. Auburn's girls are ranked by Playboy in the top 10 for hottest girls at a college, so I'll let you be the judge of that.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: Auburn has its share of hotties, male and female.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: Well, the guys here are usually very nice. As far as the girls, several years back Playboy rated Auburn University in the top five for having the sexiest girls.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: The girls are hot. I find it hard to comment on the guys since I am one, but I can't think of many of my friends that have a hard time finding dates.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: Let me put it this way: frat daddies and sorostitutes suck, but that's completely my opinion. There are lots of pretty faces around here-lots.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: Well, Auburn has over 20,000 students, so you see somebody different everyday. So, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find more than 50 to your liking.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: Just like anywhere, you have different styles of people. That's what I liked so much about AU's campus. There is a little bit of anything and everything. You have preppies, fratties, hippies, punks, the poor, and the rich. People, in general, are great and friendly. Yes, the guys are hot. I was once told that AU has the most beautiful college women. The girls are really into staying in shape.

Niche User

Guys & Girls: The guys are great. Very cute! The guys are extreme gentlemen. I love how they will open doors for you (even your guy friends). I have made some of the best guy friends in the world.

Overall, students are very happy to be in Auburn. They love the people around them and the experiences that they get to have.

College is what you make of it. If you sit at home and don't do anything, then you won't enjoy yourself no matter where you go. With all the options you have offered to you at Auburn, you have to try to not have a good time. And with a student body that is so happy to be here, it's also hard not to get swept up in the excitement. As always, it's a good idea to visit a college or university before making a final decision. Make sure you're as happy and comfortable as you can possibly be.
