Greek Life: GO GREEK OR GO HOME – Greek life IS life at Auburn. w/ minimal non-greek/greek socializing non-greeks will have a hard time finding fun (that isnt at a downtown bar) on a regular basis. also the greek process seems the hardest on the females who need to arrive a week early to begin the 1st semester pledge process. Also many guys end up going greek 2nd semester for the socializing that seems so hard to find as a non-greek.
& yes, the hottest girls are greek.... which expectedly leads to guys joining the frat scene in droves.

Nightlife: Drunk Bus – The greatest thing invented was the security shuttle, nicknamed the drunk bus. It will take you anywhere on campus for free. It comes up to toomer's corner, literally 5 steps from a bar. We have 3 or 4 bars that everyone goes to. We have a hookah bar right in the downtown, and an oxygen bar about 15 minutes away.We don;t have any clubs but La Vela, the largest club in the US is a short drive away.

Athletics: We're Alright. Each team has its own set of devout followers, along with the people who go every now and then. We have our annual rivalry match against Alabama, but our football team has been declining, it is suspected to improve within the next year or so. Our swim team has won the past 7 years in the nationals and the past 13 years in the SEC. We do not have a male soccer team but our female soccer team is pretty good.

Off-Campus Dining: Pretty Much Everything – There is practically anything and everything within 5 minutes of campus. North college st is home to world famous Toomer's Lemonade. There is also a chik-fil-a, pizza hut, starbucks, soup shop, sandwich shop, sushi and lots more a stone's toss away. Meals here can be about 5 bucks each so you get your money's worth. We have the major franchises along with some hometown favorites such as Momma Goldberg's.

Campus Dining: Food Is Good – The student center offers a variety of dining places. Overall I think they are all good.

Health & Safety: Campus Is Safe – I have never felt unsafe walking around auburn's campus. There are always many students around so there is no need to feel threatened.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Very Nice College Town – Auburn is a small city which is perfect for any college student. Also it has a very nice campus and a friendly atmosphere.

Parking: parking at auburn is terrible. you basically can't park there

Drug Safety: there is no drug scene – there is no drug scene that i know of

Guys & Girls: A wide range of student types – There are a wide range of student types.

Academics: The Going Away College of the Century. I came to Auburn University because it has an architecture program, the campus is great, and most of the professors I have had have been close to amazing. They are available to answer questions and give you extra help with course work. Class discussion is encouraged in smaller classes and makes it worth going to class.

Weather: Rain, a Lot. Auburn has a nice climate. It has rained a lot this year, but that's the worst of it. Classes were cancelled one day for snow.

Diversity: I am a member of the LGBT community and out in Auburn. Most people are generally accepting with a few hateful people. If people don't accept it the most they do is glare at my girlfriend and I holding hands. No one has ever said anything negative. Overall I would say the diversity is average in Auburn, but still predominately white, straight, and southern.

Campus Housing: I live in Sasnett on the Hill. I love my roommate/suitemates and that makeds the living situation easier. The rooms are relatively large with a bathroom in the middle of two rooms. I suggest bringing something to make the beds softer and lots of bathroom cleaning supplies.

2 College Freshman

Facilities: Auburn can connect you w/ many successful people

3 College Freshman

Computers: Always Readily Available Unless Finals or Midterm Week – a few scattered around campus but too far away. normally always within a 10min walk of a computer lab/access.

College Freshman

Transportation: it is really good! They have buses that run during day hours and then a special security bus that run all night long!

Recent Alumnus

Nightlife: Plenty of bars. Bourbon Street, 1716, SkyBar, and Bodega are the best. There's no dance club.

College Junior

Nightlife: Fraternity parties are always a good place for Greeks. You can pretty much find a party at a fraternity house every night of the week. SkyBar is fun when it's not Wednesday and high schoolers are there. Quixote's is always a good time, and 1716 is a good chill place. House parties are generally avoided by the time you're 20 and can find your way into a bar.

College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: It's a very small town. I'm from Auburn originally, and it's a very beautiful and unique town atmosphere. There is a community college nearby called Southern Union. There isn't a ton of things to do because this is a relatively small city, but there are fun bars and lots of nice places to go to hang out!

College Sophomore

Athletics: Varsity sports are always fun. Football is huge here since it's an SEC school. Everyone loves the spirit and tailgaiting atmosphere of game day. Intramural sports are also really popular and are a great opportunity for everyone to get involved.

College Sophomore

Facilities: The library is really big and has any book you could ever imagine wanting. There's plenty of space to study and meet up with groups for classes. The student center is new, very nice, and spacious. The athletic facilities are also pretty nice.

College Sophomore

Campus Dining: It's pretty good, but there aren't enough restaurants available in the student center. I only eat at two of them. There needs to be a more healthy variety of choices.

College Junior

Transportation: Public transportation to campus is pretty reliable, but I never take it. The Tiger Transit routes take a long time, and you end up having to leave for class really early. The parking on campus sucks, though, so this is basically the only option.

College Student

Facilities: The library is big but could be better. It's just one big social gathering there-if you really need to study, try going to a coffee shop downtown instead!

Overall, students are very happy to be in Auburn. They love the people around them and the experiences that they get to have.

College is what you make of it. If you sit at home and don't do anything, then you won't enjoy yourself no matter where you go. With all the options you have offered to you at Auburn, you have to try to not have a good time. And with a student body that is so happy to be here, it's also hard not to get swept up in the excitement. As always, it's a good idea to visit a college or university before making a final decision. Make sure you're as happy and comfortable as you can possibly be.
