5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I have seen nothing more than cigarettes on campus.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: All of our athletes are very personable and have lots of school spirit.

Computers: Everything runs perfectly fast and a id, your student id, is required to log on.

Drug Safety: The grade on this is pretty arbitrary. One person could rate a university with an A because they aren't into drugs or alcohol and don't see a much of that around. Conversely, somebody who is into that and does like the drug and alcohol scene could also give this an A.

If people are doing drugs, it's usually just weed. A LOT of people drink here, and just going to a fraternity party or a house party off campus, you'll be able to find what you are looking for, if you're looking for it. There are a lot of drunk people wandering about on weekends and there are a few bars in Auburn that people like to go to. However, to get into the bar you have to be 19 according to Alabama state law (still 21 to drink.)

Transportation: Tiger Transit is Auburn's daytime transport system. They will take you all around campus and make frequent pick up/drop offs. However, finding out the transit route is a little difficult. However, after 6PM every night (except football game weekends) a security shuttle will come and pick you up and drop you off anywhere on campus. It's extremely reliable. Parking at Auburn is a bit of a bear though..

Off-Campus Dining: I am serious about getting my pplication. I studydaily and work hard to maintain a "B" average.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: The bus system (here called the Tiger Transit) does for the most part well in making sure that students who don't have access to cars are shuttled between campus and their various places of housing safely, and the same goes for the security shuttles that runs at night. However, if you are looking for them to take you to a night out on the town, you have better luck just calling a taxi or carpooling with some friends.

3 College Freshman

Weather: The weather isn't great, but I think it's more of a reflection on the horrible weather of Alabama as a whole, more than what happens just Auburn.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Not very spacious at all, but great for getting to class on time.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: We have some good options for food, but many are open only for lunch and many are also closed on the weekends. But, the food trucks are pretty cool.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Mellow Mushroom is the best pizza in town! There is also a Pita Pit, Jimmy Johns, Cheeburger Cheeburger, Korean BBQ, Five Guys, Gigi's Cupcakes and of course Toomer's Corner very close to campus. Also some good options in Tiger Town if you don't mind the drive.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Friendly Southern guys and girls. The girls are really pretty. It takes a while to get used to the accent and the choice of clothing.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: On campus the alcohol is not big. Drinking is generally done off campus in fraternities or housing.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: SEC Football is huge. School has new head coach so excited to see how the team plays in 2013.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: The Auburn/Opelika area has plenty of delicious restaurants!

Greek Life: Joining a sorority or a fraternity is good because it's an automatic friend base. It's also fine if you go the non-Greek route because it doesn't hurt your social life. Only 1/3 of Auburn's campus is Greek. Fraternities have houses and sororities have chapter rooms and sorority halls in the Village.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Police patrol the campus day and night. Late-night transit is offered on and off campus. And there are emergency poles placed around campus that students can press if they feel they are in danger and the police will respond.

College Freshman

Nightlife: Once again, not really into the nightlife stuff yet, so I cant answer this accurately.

College Freshman

Drug Safety: I don't take drugs and don't hang with others who do, so I can't grade college or answer question accurately.

4 College Junior

Majors: I plan on getting an internship. I am currently waiting to hear back from Southwest Airlines about their internships. I am a little nervous. But the Office of Professional and Career Development is there to answer any questions students may have and are glad to help.

4 College Junior

Nightlife: Plenty to do later on in the week. Lots of different bars available and there are plenty of off campus parties going on as well. I always have a party to go to or something to do during the weekends and I'm under 21.

3 College Junior

Computers: Computers that are un-occupied are pretty tricky to find. It makes it challenging to find an opportunity. But once you find an open computer, they are pretty quick and have the software you need.

4 College Junior

Majors: I really like my program so far. I'm still taking some gen eds but I really like the faculty and the program. Even though the classes can be large, professors try to make themselves as available as possible and that really helps out. They all want you to do well as a student.

3 College Freshman

Parking: Permits are usually never cheap and having to find a parking space amongst traffic can be awful. The best part about Auburn is that most off-campus students just take the Transit. It picks me up right outside of my neighbor and it only takes about fifteen minutes to get the campus. It's included in tuition so it makes sense to take advantage of it.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I am a pre-Nursing major at the moment which means that I am not presently enrolled in the nursing school. I have heard that it is very competitive and grades are one of the biggest priorities. They anticipate 3.7 GPAs as the average for first-time applicants and a level of commitment in terms of volunteer work. Just work hard in classes and keep a high GPA.

Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Overall, students are very happy to be in Auburn. They love the people around them and the experiences that they get to have.

College is what you make of it. If you sit at home and don't do anything, then you won't enjoy yourself no matter where you go. With all the options you have offered to you at Auburn, you have to try to not have a good time. And with a student body that is so happy to be here, it's also hard not to get swept up in the excitement. As always, it's a good idea to visit a college or university before making a final decision. Make sure you're as happy and comfortable as you can possibly be.
