3 College Senior

Campus Strictness: Keep in mind that Auburn is very conservative.

5 College Senior

Weather: It can get hot, but it's usually moderate.

5 College Senior

Majors: There were no barriers to entering my major.

3 College Senior

Majors: The microbiology curriculum is ok.

4 College Senior

Transportation: Having a car is important if you need to shop.

4 College Senior

Campus Housing: Everywhere but the Hill is great.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: There are plenty of reasonable options.

5 College Senior

Health & Safety: I've never felt unsafe on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: The Harbert College of Business has great programs for making students aware of job/internship opportunities. They also have a really great number of employers willing to come in and take to students about those things.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: I love the Harbert College of Business! There are so many resources that are made available to me and the professors really are the best!

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I, personally, do not partake in drugs. I know people who do, but have never really been judged or excluded for NOT using drugs.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I have never felt unsafe on campus, but I have also never noticed much of a police presence on campus. However, there are emergency notification devices all over campus, lit up with blue lights. If anything were to happen, it would be very easy to get to one of these emergency "poles" from most places on campus.

Transportation: The Tiger Transit in Auburn is incredible!! I have never had an issue finding a route or a location that didn't work for me.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I will be receiving federal loans in the Fall, but not the grants that I should have received (about $3000), because my stepdad's income is too high. Even though he does not contribute at all to my educational costs, his income has caused me to lose $3000. There should be a way to distinguish between the biological parents' contribution and that of the stepparents.

Greek Life: There are two only things that I don't love about Auburn University. One is the lack of parking. The second is how little they allow student-workers to work (20 hours maximum - and unlikely to get a full 20) at minimum wage. Obviously, Auburn University knows how much it costs to be a student here. Yet, they limit their student workers to working only twenty hours a week. If I could only work ten or fifteen hours more, my finances would be a lot less tight and a lot less stressful.

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: The nightlife is usually pretty consistent and depending on who you hang out with it can be happening all the time.

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Everyone here is so loving and kind and we all share the same love for the school!

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Depending on which area of the on campus you live in it can either be amazing like a five star hotel or like living in the first dorm built on campus.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: The on campus transportation is very accessible and a great convenience. If you travel out of town, however, it can be somewhat of a hassle but usually works out.

3 College Freshman

Computers: Most of the computers on campus are up to date and depending on where you go you can have the best technology.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: We have the top athletic facilities on campus and almost every sport usually has a packed crowd because of the spirit not only on but off campus as well.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The campus has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to the honor code and drug use. Although, it is pretty easy to get your opinion heard so if you have an idea for a protest they are usually pretty lenient.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Depending on the crowd that you hang out with it can be a problem for some. Although, it is college and it can have that typical college feel. People do not drag you into it though if you are uncomfortable with it.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: The wide variety of off-campus housing is very vast within town. We have a large price range available and most are very well maintained.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: The diversity can somewhat be a problem at times on campus. The biggest issue I see is the problem with international students and the view that some people portray them to have.

Overall, students are very happy to be in Auburn. They love the people around them and the experiences that they get to have.

College is what you make of it. If you sit at home and don't do anything, then you won't enjoy yourself no matter where you go. With all the options you have offered to you at Auburn, you have to try to not have a good time. And with a student body that is so happy to be here, it's also hard not to get swept up in the excitement. As always, it's a good idea to visit a college or university before making a final decision. Make sure you're as happy and comfortable as you can possibly be.
