Campus Strictness: Although some policies are tough they aren't actually enforced. It's pretty easy to get away with just about anything in the dorm as long as you aren't caught. Some teachers may drop you but for the most part your attendance is only a factor if you fail the class

Facilities: Campus is pretty on the outside and totally walkable. The student center and library are nice. There are two or three building that all students dread going to but this is a small number compared to how many buildings there are total on campus.

Local Atmosphere: There is enough to do to fill a weekend or two and if all else fails you can hop across the border and go to Atlanta.

Greek Life: I am not a part of a Greek organization but it doesn't affect my daily life in anyway. You often see Greeks involved in the community as we'll as throwing parties or hosting concerts. Only fraternities have houses on campus. Some dorms are primarily Greek. The nphc Greeks don't have houses on campus and there is a clear divide between them and npc

3 College Sophomore

Majors: The are a list of pre engineering courses required. As long as you complete them before the end of your sophomore year with a gap higher than 2.2 you can enter your major.

College Sophomore

Majors: I haven't entered into the major program yet. The building is kind of old but still nice.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: The curriculum is pretty strong in the college of engineering. The professors are generally helpful. Registration is kind of a mad grab but gets better as you earn more credit hours and an earlier time ticket.

College Sophomore

Academics: As as ooh more I am still taking pre engineering course non specific to my major.

Diversity: For the most part Auburn students are white, Christian, and southern. Other groups are however not silenced by this majority. Campus in general is a safe place. There is a club for any kind of support you might need.

Off-Campus Housing: The closer to campus the higher the rent and also the smaller the space for the most part. There are a lot of different options. The school transit stops at most complexes so it's not necessary to drive to school everyday which can reduce cost because you won't need a parking permit. Also the required meal plan is cheaper.

Overall Experience: The first year general science courses are designed to weed out non committed students but in general the teachers are helpful and the classes pretty small.

College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I haven't reached that point in my academic career to discuss these topics. Career services is very help for resume writing and the job site does a good job finding positions for internships or full time positions.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: If your looking for a late dinner there are very few places to get it unless you order from a restaurant. Hardly any healthy choices.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Everyone goes out to support the the different sports teams although football has the largest crowd. The athletic center is great and the offer awesome group fit classes.

Diversity: I live in the south. Alabama is a conservative state. There are not a tremendous number of outspoken liberal people here.

Overall Experience: I grew up in this area of the state. I use a wheelchair for mobility and the accessibility of classes is excellent. When I've had a class scheduled to be in an inaccessible classroom, the class is moved prior to the day the semester begins. I know accessibility is covered under the ADA, but I appreciate the ease at which accessibility is handled. Also, along those lines, Auburn University offers the JAUNT service for students with disabilities to travel from building to building on a golf cart so as to not have to use their own transportation and risk being late for classes.

The Social Work program at Auburn has been exactly what I wanted. All my instructors have a love for what they do as social workers and a love for the people they have served over the years. It makes the classes enjoyable.

Football season isn't bad at Auburn University either!! I BELIEVE in Auburn and LOVE it!!

Off-Campus Dining: There are lots of choices for off-campus dining, with both chain restaurants and "Auburn" restaurants.

4 College Senior

Campus Strictness: Rules are enforced, not too strict or lenient.

3 College Senior

Greek Life: I'm not involved, but overall I have a decent view of Greeks. They don't seem to overwhelm campus life, but are definitely present.

4 College Senior

Campus Dining: There are a lot of chain choices, like Chick-fil-A, Papa John's, Au Bon Pain, etc. There are also a variety of other options for places only on Auburn's campus, such as pasta, sandwiches, mexican food, southern food, Italian, etc.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I avoid walking alone at night.

Overall, students are very happy to be in Auburn. They love the people around them and the experiences that they get to have.

College is what you make of it. If you sit at home and don't do anything, then you won't enjoy yourself no matter where you go. With all the options you have offered to you at Auburn, you have to try to not have a good time. And with a student body that is so happy to be here, it's also hard not to get swept up in the excitement. As always, it's a good idea to visit a college or university before making a final decision. Make sure you're as happy and comfortable as you can possibly be.
