5 College Freshman

Parking: I live on campus and there are alwyas parking spots near the dorms.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I live in North Commons and I really like it. You only have 4 suit mates (including yourself). It is not noisy and crazy when you are trying to sleep and get work done. The residents life always has activities planned for the whole month. I would really recomend staying on campus here at AUM. They are building new dorms that will be open fall 2013. They are going to be even better then north commons because they will have full kitchens... Like apartments but better becaues you can walk to class.

2 College Freshman

Campus Dining: The dining hall is not that great it only has 3 places to eat. However, they do have good salads, which is important when considering "freshmen 15". East Chase mall is right down the street and Atlanta highway has a lot of great places to eat.

Local Atmosphere: Montgomery is a very nice and clean city. There are not a lot of activities, however, if you are use to contry living then this is the perfect place to be. I love how everything is so close and you don't have to travel far to get to the mall, stores, movies and etc. I think that SHORT traveling distances is very important for college students because gas is not cheap. East chase mall is right down the street off the same exit as AUM... Love that!

Guys & Girls: This school is good, however, I do not consider it an upgrade from high school. I still see the cliche of cliques from geeks to the jocks. I have not come by any Grade A men here, but then again I have only attended AUM for a little over 3 months now. The social life is alright. It could be better, but we do not have Greek homes like the University of Alabama so there is not a designated party spot. All in all, I still feel as if I'm in high school.

4 College Junior

Academics: There are a lot of programs offered, but it all time hard to manage your elective courses, since a lot them you had already took when you made your undergraduate degree. Business program is fairly hard, which is good. Professors are strict, but easy going and put a lot of efforts to teach students.

4 College Junior

Campus Dining: There are plenty of different food available in campus cafe. But if you are a vegetarian you won't find much. The food is pretty expensive compared to other fast-food or dining restaurants.

4 College Junior

Computers: AUM has a lot of computer labs on campus and I am not very good at evaluating technical devices, but so far I have never had any problems with computers in here. They just work fine.

4 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Montgomery is a peaceful city surrounded by beautiful nature. There are a lot of parks and recreational areas available for the public. It is a very nice place to live. Also, it is a historical place so there are a lot of legends and myths connected with the city. I enjoy each day of my staying in here; it is just amazing!

4 College Freshman

Academics: Most of the courses at AUM are fairly easy if you pay attention and actually give effort.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: Many of the professors are very kind and helpful. They give many opportunities to bring grades up and offer separate tutoring times. Also there are tutoring centers on campus that are totally free.

4 College Freshman

Majors: AUM has a great range of programs that one can choose from and it's expanding. The nursing program and business department are most popular and highly competitive and challenging but are great.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: I do not know much of the transportation on campus because I have my own car. But I do believe that there is a transit that travels around campus and also outside of campus to Eastchase which is down the road and to grocery stores nearby.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Just down the road from the campus is Eastchase Shopping Center. There's many different restaurants located there like Texas Road House, Ruby Tuesdays, and Five Guys. There is also many fast food areas too. Some include Wendy's, Chick-fil-a, and Boardwalk. If you like coffee there's a Starbucks right at the entrance. The prices vary from $7 to $25 depending on the place that you go. It's very nice and easy to get to. Plus, there's clothing shops too!

3 College Senior

Diversity: AUM is a really conservative campus. The faculty allows students to be diverse in their different backgrounds, but the students are pretty close-minded. If it doesn't have anything to do with conservative christianity, it's pretty much frowned upon by students. The Gay-Straight Alliance put up posters around campus a few semesters ago and a lot of them got ripped down. I would think adults would have a lot more open mindedness and tolerance as far as other religious/political beliefs and sexual orientation goes, but it's unfortunate they don't.

3 College Senior

Facilities: AUM just opened the Wellness Center, which is pretty cool. The dorms are nice and they are in the process of building new dorms. The parking lots were just redone. The cafeteria is being redone. I only wish the school would focus more of their attention on the Fine Arts department, because it could really use some upgrades. People pretty much hang out wherever. There are plenty of hangout spaces and study areas.

4 College Senior

Facilities: Wellness Center – AUM just go a new wellness center and it's pretty awesome if you're into working out.

College Senior

Athletics: You don't hear much about athletics unless you are part of athletics.

4 Recent Alumnus

Academics: The different types of majors at my school is A big problem for me because they do not have vet classes that are useful.

3 Recent Alumnus

Athletics: The athletics are not a big deal at my school. I never see athletes walking around

3 Recent Alumnus

Academics: Teachers Help – I am pleased with how much my teachers have helped me over the past semester. I think I will do well in my future classes.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: Great Atmosphere-No Tolerance – Drinking and the use of drugs on campus is prohibited. And enforced by the on-campus police force.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Getting Better – Greek life is slowly getting stronger & you can expect to see a lot more of it on campus within the next year! The Greek numbers are growing & the involvement is getting much better!

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: Pretty Good – The Cafe is newly remodeled & so is the student center, where you can go to study or go use the brand new computer lab! AUM in the past couple years has been getting a lot mor traditions and really breaking off from Auburn to become its own school! The Student hangouts are pretty good because you can find anywhere to hang out on campus.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: Getting Better – The facilities are doing great beacause AUM is currently remodelings their campus. Campus life is also getting a lot better now that there is someone new in charge of it & we do a better homecoming week & Have our own mascot & everything. Greek life as well is getting bigger & stronger than ever! Expect to see more of them as well!
