3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Good atmosphere in terms of campus and academics, I personally found the student population to be somewhat privileged.

Greek Life: There is no Greek life on campus as Assumption is a Catholic school.

Academics: Professors are great and very willing to help. Can be a lot of work depending on major (sciences) but manageable if you keep up with it.

Local Atmosphere: It's like living in the center of the city without being in the city. Located on a more remote side street that is only a few minutes from downtown. Plenty of things to do in proximity.

3 College Sophomore

Computers: Necessary to have your own computer for convenience so you won't be fighting with others when the labs are busy. Printing is great, IT'S FREE! Wireless is good but can be slow at times when a lot of people are online.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: People definitely take part in somewhat excessive drinking and smoking on the weekends but there are alternative activities provided for those who are not interested.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: Awesome new science building build a few years ago! Up to date labs and nice classrooms. Great science programs and very helpful faculty.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: Some diversity but mostly upper middle class whites.

Off-Campus Dining: Good food but can be somewhat pricey depending on where you go. Not many student discounts offered or advertised.

Campus Housing: Living on campus is not bad but it depends on where you dorm. The housing lottery is a mess and only makes everyone's lives difficult. Be ready for a stressful afternoon! They tend to accept to many students and then find it hard where to place them. Especially if you're a sophomore.

Freshmen have certain housing: Alumni, Des, Salisbury, and Hanrahan (but pretty much for the honors students only). Alumni and Des are three floor identical twin buildings in the heart of campus. They house students in doubles. They're not bad but you're living on top of another person, so hope that you get along. Everyone on that floor shares a bathroom. Don't worry there are girls floors and boys floors. Hanrahan is usually 95% honors students housed there. There are two triples in the basement floor and the rest are doubles. It's a maze like building that makes you feel like you're just living in one giant house with 40 people. It's not bad except the furniture could be updated. Salisbury is usually not the best place to live. Many students enjoy it but it's not for everyone. Typically you're in small rooms where three or four people are made to live together.

Health & Safety: The campus police are great. They do their job well. The campus is not in chaos. People seem to feel safe on campus especially at night.

The health center is not that great.

Weather: It's very rainy in Worcester.

Overall Experience: Assumption is a great school. I was told to go here. They don't seem to care much about my club sport or my major here, but I stay because my teacher and my coach/team are so amazing. It makes it worth it.

3 College Junior

Athletics: The school loves their football team. That is their crown jewel. The other varsity sports do get many perks in their own right, but the intramural are probably more popular to the disdain of varsity and club sport athletes. The club sports are not seen to be sports at all by the rest of the athletic departments but they are award wining and the student athletes are hard working. Students of all athletic departments are great and put their all into their sport.

Local Atmosphere: Worcester is a nice city. The scenery is nice. There is a park down the street but Assumption's grounds are lovely enough. There are many colleges in Worcester and so the students interact a lot. The Art Museum is great and there are plenty of places to go shopping.

4 College Junior

Computers: There are a number of computer labs on campus. If your own is having a problem you will still be able to use one of the labs or rent out a laptop in the library. The IT center here is pretty good at getting your computer running again. Printing here is in black and white only, but it is free.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Worcester is a large city with many great surrounding towns. There is an abundance of food options. Pretty much take your pick and it's somewhere. The prices do vary so be aware. Some places offer student discounts or if you have the WOO card here in Worcester that can be helpful.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: The school does a great job in educating incoming freshmen about the consequences of alcohol and drug use.

3 College Freshman

Academics: The courses aren't very challenging.

2 College Freshman

Academics: There aren't many courses offered.

Guys & Girls: The really attractive guys are either creeps or in a relationship. Kind of sucks for everyone looking for guys.

Health & Safety: The safety is good, I guess. The campus police are always present. The health isn't always present, however, the center isn't even open weekends.

Overall Experience: None of the students have any school spirit, no one is involved with campus activities at all. It seems like almost everyone goes home on the weekends, campus is pretty much dead all day Saturday and all day Sunday. It's the most boring college ever. It feels like you're still in high school, even in the classes.

Nightlife: It's not great, it's kind of monotonous.

Academics: My major is Chemistry and I am tracking pre-med. There are a lot of people in this program making the classes hard to get into. Upper-classmen take all the available spots and the school doesn't have enough sections open for the major. The workload is hard, but "do-able". The teachers, besides Jones, are very helpful & informative.
