Academics: Professors at assumption seem to be either a hit or a miss. I have had awesome ones that teach me a lot and I have had ones not so great. My english comp. teacher specifically did not teach anything about composition and she did not help me to learn anything new. It is kind of frustrating when you spend so much money for a class and get nothing out of it. But I have also had very awesome professors as well.

Nightlife: I have no problems with the nightlife on campus. There are some nights where nothing is happening but you can find that at any campus. Sometimes police are a little tight but they are doing their job. I find it easy enough to have a good time on the weekends on and off campus.

Campus Housing: The housing lottery at Assumption can be disappointing. I wouldn't get your hopes up. I have never gotten the room I want but I do get the next best thing. On the bright side housing is guarenteed all 4 years at Assumption. The space and size are great and reasonable.

Academics: Being the accounting major so far has been fine. I am only in my second year of the major so I do not have quite the experience as older students. I have however had issues with acedimic advisors. My first advisor was not in the business department therefore could not really direct me in the direction i needed to go. Once i switched to an accounting advisor it was then told that there were things i should have previously done but i was unaware. It would have been a lot easier to have been originally assigned a business/accounting advisor.

Computers: There are a lot of computer labs located in many building of Assumption. I have never had to wait to use a computer before. The internet while using my personal computer can be frustrating though. The internet can be really slow or not even work at all.

Campus Strictness: Assumption has the perfect amount of strictness. They make sure that you are not doing anything illegal or out of line but they still leave room for fun. I believe they keep us in line but are not overly commanding. I have no issues with it. The people who deserve to get in trouble generally do and those who are better behaved are understood.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Extremely Safe – Assumption makes me feel so safe. There is only one entrance to the college and it has a guard house. They check everyone that comes in. It's a small campus and help is available pretty much everywhere. The social atmosphere is friendly and kind. I've never felt so safe anywhere else.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: It's a Hassle. I have received a great financial package from Assumption, which actually helped a lot when it came to decision time of where to attend college. Getting loans and grants is quite the hassle though. I always have to do it a few times before I even get it right and approved. It can be extremely frustrating.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: It's Pretty Good Here. Assumption is a little pricey, but most would say it's worth the money. I'm extremely challeged in all of my classes and get the attention and help that I need. I have made great life long friends and can't wait to go back. There is also plenty of things to do. There is no such thing as perfect though. I have had some tough times first starting out. It was a lot to get used to in a short period of time, but I have no regrets.

Facilities: the entire campus is clean and a great environment to be in. Students have a great time around campus

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Some Sports Are &Quot;Better&Quot; Than Others – Some sports are definitely looked as "better" at this school. It only seems that football and basketball matter. Nobody (especially the staff) cares about any of the other sports -- track and field, swimming, crew, etc. It sucks actually because I am part of the track team and I went to talk to the staff about changing the program/getting new coaches, but nobody seemed to care at all about my concerns.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: Mostly White, but Still Diverse! Assumption has mostly white students, but there are still many black, Hispanic, and international students. Nobody segregates from them and everyone seems to get along on campus!

1 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Mostly all of the kids stay on campus, and nobody seems to dislike this at all! Although there isn't any off-campus housing, nobody cares and everyone seems to want to stay on campus!!

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: Buses and Cabs – There is a Woo Bus which brings you to local food stores and target and other stores, very convient

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Pretty Good Can Be Repetitive – The food is not that bad there are many options to choose from and they have all types of food and they always have opportunities for you to tell them how you like the food

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Could Have Been More Smooth – The financial aid process is tough anywhere you got but Assumption gives out a decent amount of money to all students.

Guys & Girls: Very Fun Campus – Everyone is really welcoming and nice here. They are all really involved and many activities are always going on throughout the year... very fun campus.

Facilities: Excellent Recreation Center – The Recreation center is unbelievable and there are always activities and events there. It opens early and stays open late with expensive equipment and plenty of space. The Library has a great set-up based on how much silence you require to study with three floors.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Drinking Is Popular, and Few Drugs Are Used. There are only select, small groups of students who partake in drugs other than smoking marijuana, which also does not play a big part in campus life. The majority of students are involved in drinking more than any other substances.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Charlie's Is Good but Taylor Has Few Options. Charlies always has something new and excting to eat however Taylor Dining hall gets very repetitive and boring. There are some days when nothing looks appetizing to eat, especially on Fridays during Lent when no meat is provided anywhere on campus. Taylor can be good, however, when the student suggestions are taken and the school tries new items.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: A Safe Campus That Provides Individualized Attention – The classes are interesting and the teachers know the names of all their students. Assumption has a five year masters program for many areas of study and a rigorous Honors Program. Most of the professors are very approachable and reasonable. My only criticism is how unreasonable campus safety and the RAs can be in the freshman dorms.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: There are so many facilities. The library is huge and yet constantly full with students. The gym is awesome with new equipment is other things. The support center is always there to help. the diners are big as well. there are so many facilities and rooms to choose from and many things that you can join.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Some Things to Do – There are many options for activities to do off campus like shopping, movies, clubs, bars, restaurants and other things but it all has to do with your preference. There are also theathers and museams that people can go to as well. There is so much to do and choose from if you leave campus, but there is also a lot to do on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Good Food – The Dining hall is open fearly and closes around evening. The Diner is open in the morning til midnight. The food is good and they have many options, but they are usually the same options week after week. they do spice it up once a week and do a weekly special. Recently they got a milk shake machine which was pretty interesting for a while. I personally love the stir fry area but again there are different options.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Off Campus Guest – The Campus has a beautiful atmosphere at night, but guest must be signed in. Males can have male guest stay in their rooms and females can have females. This is an understandable rule and this rule is enforced completely. if you are found to have an opposite sex guest in your room after hours whether signed in or not, they are told to leave nicely or are told to find another room to sleep in for the night. most people understand this rule, so not many punishments are given out, but if they are they are strict about the rule and people have to follow it, because the second time they would not be so nice about it.
