3 College Sophomore

Weather: Bad winters, but beautiful during fall and spring

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Ashland is a small school but has a lot of very good qualities and provides a great atmosphere

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: Their nursing and education programs are very good and well known around the area and/or state

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: The rec center and most of the buildings are newer and in great condition. Some of the dorms are not very nice, but they are livable

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I would like to have the opportunity to get more financial aid

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: A lot of off campus houses available, they are for a reasonable price and not far from campus

2 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Not a lot of life- but for a small college town, they know and like to have fun and throw parties

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Ashland is a small town, alot of land and farming. Not a lot of attractions or activities available- but nice parks and outdoorsy places

4 College Sophomore

Computers: There are numerous computer labs around campus, however, it is easy to take notes on your own computer and save prints!

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: Very small campus, everything is within walking distance

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: The campus police are very strict and give tickets like they are candy!

5 College Sophomore

Academics: Ashland's academics are very well known. Most students travel all over the country for Ashlands academic program. Their nursing school is rated one of the highest!

Transportation: Walking is the main way students transport around campus, but if you want to venture off campus, a car is the only option.

Campus Dining: The dining hall is the best thing Ashland has. Convo has great menus full of variety and value for your price. You can use your own money, a meal plan, or credit/debit card. I don't think the cost for meals is unreasonable considering the quality.

Health & Safety: Campus crime does not happen often. I personally feel safe on campus. Special security measures are taken when needed. Safety services is really helpful and there when you need them, but not overbearing.

Campus Strictness: There are not many academic restrictions that are different or more strict than most universities. The social life is more restricted if you live on campus as oppose to off campus, but that comes with paying to live at the university.

Local Atmosphere: There are not many attractions, activities, cultural, sports or shopping available in Ashland. However, the local attitude and treatment of not only students but to everyone is great and Ashland is highly safe.

Off-Campus Dining: The cost is typical for a college town. There are many fast food options that are convenience. Student discounts are excellent! There are even discounts to stores and not just dining.

Drug Safety: I have never experienced peer pressure. The policy enforcement is strict, but I have heard students getting away with it without enforcement knowing. Drug and alcohol is only visible if you live on campus.

Computers: The computer labs are numerous, spacious, and have many computers. The printing on campus can be expensive, but it is no more expensive than home printing of school work. The network speed and reliability is great. The only time I have ever seen it crash is during crunch times, such as finals. The wireless access is great and I connect to it daily. The need for a personal computer depends upon your major, if you are taking an online course, and if you find it more convenient.
