Academic Experience: I didn't realize that the courses would be accerlated, so sometimes it is hard to keep up. But I like a new class every 5 weeks. I didn't have any credits do I have had to do take those English, history, and government courses.

3 College Junior

Career Services: I really have not taken advantage of their services in this area. I know they have a career office and hold seminars

2 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I think I was buffaloed and will have tremendous debt, but I told the school when I started that if I couldn't get grants I couldn't afford to go, they did secure a loan for me I don't know I will pay back as I am on Disibility, but I keep going to scnool, I love it!

4 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: Ashford really does try and accomidate me around my work schedule.

5 College Sophomore

Career Services: I find everyone very helpful and the resources for research are extensive so the student can be assured that all avenues are taken for essays

5 College Sophomore

Student Body: so far I've noticed that students are from all walks of life and we bring totally different views to the table. everyone is tolerant of each other's views

3 College Junior

Student Body: All of my online courses have been made up of a diverse student body ranging from early 20s to mid 50s. Many of the student body shares their life experiences, including work, raising a family, and military service stories.

The only issue I have with the student body is the level of education they come to Ashford with. I have no idea what grades my classmates are getting, but if they are getting the same grades I receive or better, there are some serious ethical violations going on. If I have to hear or read one more essay filled with poor grammar, misspelled words, incomplete sentences and thoughts, I am going to snap.

College Junior

Campus Resources: I attend online courses, I do not know about campus life.

College Junior

Campus Resources: I am not sure about their on-campus resources, as I attend the online university.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: The classes have been challenging but the teachers, for the most part, have been easy to communicate with. My schedule is predone for me and I get notices when they are about to start, making it easy to prepare. I like having it spelled out for me, especially with my busy schedule.

4 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: I am not very good with paperwork or understanding te financial aid process but the Ashford Financial office is easy to contact and has been vigilant about keeping me informed about any changes to my aid or financial status. They have even personally called to make sure I understand the process and stayed on the phone while I looked documents up, printed and faxed them to the school. It is very appreciated as I tend to forget to follow through with paperwork.

4 College Senior

Student Body: The students are respectable for the most part. When there is questionable responses from students, I have seen the instructors correct the behavior quite swiftly.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: It is military friendly and ensures that I can do my job and school at the same time. I occasionally get emails or calls from my adviser checking up on me and my progress.

5 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I am military and use the TA and with the furlough and lost of TA, I like many others were impacted. Ashford walked me though other routes to stay on top of my education and because of their efforts, I qualified for the Pell Grant and was able to continue my education.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: I take online courses and the updates are always projected and I have not had much issues with assignments and accessing my school page.

5 Recent Alumnus

Academic Experience: I never had an issue that an instructor couldn't help me with.

5 Recent Alumnus

Academic Experience: The advisors and instructors were very helpful in me obtaining all the information I needed to succeed. The classes were all geared toward my major course of study. Being a student at Ashford University has given me the edge I need to succeed in my current job title.

4 College Sophomore

Online Courses: I feel with online courses I'm able to focus better rather than get embarressed in a real class room. Everything has been so great

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I feel everything so far has been great. I do wish there was more personlized lessons like videos to watch of certain lecture or math courses but over all I've enjoyed everything

1 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: This is the worst school when it comes to probelms and figuring out that if we cannot get to the school web page, that it is ok to email our homework directly to our teacher. Then, load the paper later when the web page is available.

3 College Junior

Student Body: I would say there is a good mix of all demographics.

4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: This school allows me the ability to take courses at my own pace and does nto keep me restrained to a set schedule for classes. This is especially helpfull with my ever changing work schedule.

4 College Senior

Online Courses: I felt that the first online classes that I was taking that I would not learn anything because I am not in an anctuall classroom setting. Once the courses started I begann to understand that I can learn just as much in an online class. I feel that the assignments are evenly divided and with the coursework being provided at the begining of the course it allows me the opportunity to work ahead and allows me to free up my schedule for later on.

4 College Junior

Student Body: Most of my classmates are hard working professionals that are career oriented and looking to excel. I believe that most of mates are here to make a better life for themselves and their families.

2 College Junior

Campus Resources: Required to only provide research from the Ashford library. We are limited to the information, text, and rules of Ashford. They manipulate individual funds upon dispersement from government delaying residuals up to 3 months, simply because they can. My student advisor is not familiar with my degree program nor, I believe, qualified for this position. She does not have the knowledge to assist others.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
