Online Courses: It was not hard to navigate the online student portal. I liked the subjact material. They brought up a lot of programs and classes I did not know of. I was pleastnly surprised at the level of education I was actually recieving.

Academic Experience: I'm a Health Care Administration major and its going good so far.

Academic Flexibility: The flexibility of this school and the courses is fantastic! I was feeling overwhelmed and was able to take a break from my courses, regain my focus and get back to class feeling great. Without that break, I may have quit school altogether. Ashford provides a great support system when you need help.

Student Body: We have students from all over the world in my class. It is great to meet everyone and hear their stories.

Student Body: Since I study online, I only interact with a small segment of the student body at a time. Racial, ethnic, and gender groups all seem to be represented well. I have been disappointed that many of my classmates seem to have poor writing skills and discussion skills at this point in their education, but there have been a few students in each class with whom I could really relate and interact academically. Most of my classmates are non-traditional-age students with families and jobs that keep them busy, and it is interesting to see the insights their lives outside of school add to their discussion posts.

Academic Experience: I have been very pleased with the academic courses at Ashford. I would have liked more math and science, but they are not relevant to my two majors and I did not have time for any more elective courses, so it was appropriate that I did not have those. I did have rich literature and writing classes, and psychology and sociology courses that enriched my learning. My professors have been very involved with the students, for the most part, and they have challenged me to think more deeply about the topics we have addressed. Class registration has been almost effortless, and I have always had the courses I needed when I needed them. My professors and advisers have been available to answer questions by email and by phone, and have encouraged me in my chosen career path.

Online Courses: Online courses are convenient because Ashford sets assignments and due dates, but not set class times, so I can work around my family's schedule. I do miss the face-to-face interaction of the traditional classroom, but the online discussion board provides quite a lot of interaction with professors and classmates. The assignment workload has been fairly rigorous, but always manageable. I have been pleased to have the same classmates in multiple classes, allowing us to form supportive relationships as we encounter each other again, similar to in-class friendships in traditional settings. The registration process was simple, and the admissions advisor was very helpful not only during registration but through my first few courses.

Academic Flexibility: The design of the online classroom was simple to navigate and the tools made readily available to me. I had a good experience with Ashford but would have to seriously research it's current accreditation to ever consider finishing the last couple classes in my masters program.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: I have heard that many online schools require students to be online with their class via a chat room at a certain time, Ashford does not have anything like this. They have a vast variety of assistance to make college level writing fool proof, tools that are personalized for each subject, and enough research tools available so any subject will never have no information.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: I have never had a problem with the schools network or my online classroom. I have heard many people having some sort of issue, but I never have encountered them, and the only thing that has prevented me from turning in my work on time was myself.

3 College Student

Academic Experience: So far my professors have been great. The transfer and admissions process has been very easy. Most of my credits were accepted. The classes I have already taken were waived so I am happy with my experience at Ashford.

Tuition & Financial Aid: It is commpetitive in its tuition prices but could be less. My financial advisor has taken quite awhile to get back to me to do our entrance phone call.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: The computer network is real easy to get through and to get things done without having any major problems.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: The campus resources are very usfull and easy to acess at times

2 College Junior

Campus Resources: they have very interesting class sceduales that make it very interesting to go to class online

4 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: It was easy to sign up and get enrolled into school they helped me with all my financial aid and any other help I need along the way

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid office here does not give out scholarships to out of state students. If I receive a scholarship through the college, then I would have won it through some other means and it can be transferred to me through my school's financial aid office. This is why I am looking for aid through these outside means for the help I need.

4 College Junior

Student Body: The student body of my online class is a very diversified group from all over the world and in many age groups. Taking classes on line affords me and others the opportunity to take online classes and work in other areas of life while getting an education.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: The program I am enrolled in is Environmental Studies. This program is very in depth and branches in many different directions. The instructors are very knowledgeable about each course they are instructing. The studies are not for the weak; they can be very tedious and a lot to absorb. The structure of the courses make the information stick and make a person want to research more information.

5 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: The education that I am receiving is worth the money that I am spending, by far. The financial aid department has many students to deal with and so there is a little extra time involved on the departments end. Overall, the experience that I have had with the financial aid department has been spot on. If I have a question, it is answered in a timely manner. That answer may take a few days but it gets answered and any issue gets resolved.

Student Body: The student body at Ashford University is very wide and diverse. A majority of the student body are hard working individuals, many with families, and are taking the opportunity to achieve a goal that could not be grasped in younger years. Many are there to help one another, have fun with each other, and keep the drive to continue strong. As with any school, online or brick/mortar, there will always be the handful that have negative things to say about their experience. When the number of attendees climb the more work administration has to conduct and the process of FA, admissions, or even to answer a question is going to take a little longer.

College Junior

Career Services: I have not used the services, although it is provided.

5 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: I love the flexibility of Ashford. I could attend class via online in the day and work at night.

5 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: I work all the time plus I am a mom of two boys who are 1 month and 3 years old going to school has been the best thing for me. I can work at home when I am not at work and still be here with my boys. I can work at my own pace but follow the deadlines also that we are give. With Ashford University they have really made my college life a lot better. I attended another college in a different state where I was living and didn't think all my credits would transfer then when I started at Ashford they all transferred in so that helped me out a lot.

4 College Junior

Student Body: Every one here at Ashford have been very helpful to me when I need the help the most. I feel that the response that I get from them is faster then my past colleges I have attended.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
