Academic Experience: Good balance of workload for people that work as well as attend school.

Online Courses: Ashford makes it easy to keep up with the workload if you apply yourself. The flexibility of online courses made me think why didn't I do this the first time instead of going on campus. My only problem with Ashford is how the financial aid don't add up to the courses they give you so they take all your grant money and leave you broke. I received two $300 grants and a Pell's grant of $2775 and they took it all leaving me in a big bend.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: The overall experience has been great! I am a transfer student and all of my credits wthere accepted. All my classes are related to my major and they will help me in the future.

Student Body: My school consists of mostly athletes, this is not great for those that are not in some sport. Students for the most part are traditional age college students. However, the ethnic diversity is good there are studens with many different backgrounds.

College Student

Campus Resources: I have never been to this campus because I am an online student.

5 College Senior

Online Courses: I received my BA from Ashford. I loved the platform of learning and found that I got out of each class what I put into it. There were times that I was busier and not able to put as much effort in and while I still got an A in the course I did not get as much out of it. Some instructors are better than others but, I would imagine you would find that at any university. Overall I would recommend Ashford to anyone that loves learning, is a self motivator and wants to earn a degree. if you are not a self motivator it probably is not the program for you.

Academic Experience: The online courses are designed to offer flexibility for students.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Ashford has been very flexible. I participate when it is convenient for me and when I was having some financial difficulties, my courses were switched around to accommodate my needs.

5 College Junior

Student Body: My classes are all online. I imagine the people are very diverse in many aspects. Some are working parents, many are people returning to school after several years due to life circumstances, and some just like the online environment versus a traditional classroom.

5 College Junior

Online Courses: I understood everything my class had to offer. I turned in work that was on a college level and all my work was on time. Starting a class can be scary because you do not know what it is going to be like until you actually do the wok. Overall I have done well and I am happy with the school.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I have had a great experience with Ashford, the only downfall I see is how much papers we are required to write. I am a single mother, I work full time, and I have the worry and stress of completing 2-3 and 8-10 pages a week. I feel like I am always busy and don't have much time for my daughter.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I am unable to rate any of the proffesors. I recenlty switched from Wake Technical Community College. I had the great opportunity of attending the north campus as well as the main campus. Had a great introduction to business instructor as well as my instructor who taught principles of marketing at main campus.
I start Ashford University on May 21, 2013. Although I have had a short experience it has been a good one. My advisor is by far one of the best and if I have any concerns or questions he normally respond that same day.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The resources available are very user friendly and quickly available.

5 College Sophomore

Career Services: I love that the counselor that helps sign you up stays with the student all the way through the courses and after.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: They are always updating and gives students advanced warning when network maybe down.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: some classes do have tons of workload, the instructor and the students are involved in the class and interact with each other.

5 College Junior

Student Body: both students in the classes i have taken so far, differ in age, cultural backgrounds , but most of us are or have been part of the military, no matter what branch, but we all share some common understanding on what it takes to work hard to achieve our educational goals.

5 College Junior

Online Courses: i couldn't be happier with taking online courses and attending online college. it helps me continue my education, to achieve my goals, in a more effective way. Being a mother, a wife, and a soldier, like can get hectic and actually attending face to face classess has become almost imposossible to do so.

5 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: I recieved financial aide and it helped me out alot.

5 College Sophomore

Online Courses: The teachers are always there when you need them and at first getting to know what to do was hard for me. The teachers will explain what has to be done and they always work with you to help you understand if you have a problem;

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: I wish that we could at least make voice communication with our instructors and TAs.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I think that the tuition at Ashford is rather expensive considering you cannot reach your instructors personally and you are not get that one on one teaching service.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: The classes have been pretty good so far. Financial aid is pretty tough to get

5 College Student

Online Courses: Online courses are more flexible and you are able to do your assignments when you have the time to before they are due. The instructors are there to help you and don't take a lot of time to respond back to your questions. I am glad that I chose to do online courses because of my schedule. Discussions are graded on how well your spelling and grammar is, the length and debt of them. Its pretty simple if you are wanting to go back to school

3 College Student

Academic Flexibility: working one course at a time is what I was hoping for and that is why I wanted to go to this school

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
