Tuition & Financial Aid: they we fantastic about helping me through and explaining the process and i received a notice fast!

Student Body: Highly diversed classes with students having many common goals and values

2 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition didn't seem like such a big deal compared to other universities I had previously attended. However, for the education that you receive, I would expect to pay less. It's nice to know what to expect with classes but I would like to be challenged in the classroom, not financially. Financial aid tries to be helpful but seems to have difficulty coming up with any solutions to problems, almost forcing you to go with their initial, and only recommendation. Short notice on holds and bills is what earned this grade.

Online Courses: I have been very satisfied with online courses. The main importance tome is flexibility. Working full-time and being a parent can present challenges in it's own, an added burden of having to go to a campus is not favorable. Being able to set my own time of day from home to do schoolwork is the only way I could accoplish my goal.

Campus Resources: My school offers different kinds of online classes. I was able to have the opportunity to take my classes online.

Online Courses: I have had the opportunity to experience college courses both in a classroom and online. I have always tended to be a bit backward in crowds and find that I do just as we'll in the online realm as the classroom. I do however enjoy the freedom that online courses allows me. I have two active teens and work outside of the home, so the online courses at Ashford have been awesome for my hectic day to day life.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I am very pleased with Ashford's tuition. It's affordable and the help with financial aid was tremendous. The staff that I've had the opportunity to deal with has been such a big help, very patient, and answered every question I have had so far in a timely manner.

Campus Resources: Although I am not able to be on the campus because of the distance, my experience with the online environment at Ashford has been mostly a very positive one. The student pages are easy to access and navigate, however my only qualm would be about the time limit that is set while signed into the student portal. Both in the 'classroom' and on the portal page, there is always the threat of being signed off while doing something critically important such as a discussion post, writing a long email to a professor, or even reading through my online text!! This can prove to be a huge stress factor and I wish it didn't exist because otherwise everything else runs smoothly and without issue.

Online Courses: The only aspect of these courses that stopped me from giving them an A+ is that sometimes it was difficult to contact the professors. But as an overall review, the work load, online environment and accessibility of Ashford's classes has truly allowed me to blossom both as a student and as a person. I moved through grade school believing that school was never going to be 'my thing', but these online courses have given me the perfect set up for proving to myself that I had the potential to be successful in the classroom. Having to deal with my ADD on a daily basis is no longer a hindrance to my completing my course work and turning it in immediately, giving me the instant gratification I have always desired as a student.

Thank you Ashford.

Campus Resources: I go to online classes and have never been on campus.

Career Services: I am not post-grad yet because i'm just now starting the school.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I have had great communications with my advisor and Financial advisor. The process for financial aid can be confusing but then the advisors help with what ever you are having problems with.

2 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: The process was never explained to me. I now owe Sallie mae which I did not know I applied for. I still have 2000$ out of pocket expense.

3 College Sophomore

Online Courses: I have excelled in my 8 classes. I have received 6 a's and 2 b's. The classroom structure is similar to all classes. Five weeks of discussion posts with a 8 pg research paper due at end of class. One major issue is the instructors are not on the same page when it comes to grading. They do not follow the same citing set up.

Academic Experience: I am majoring in Accounting. Every class that I've taken at Ashford, I believe, will be applicable in the real world and in my future career. The courses I've taken so far has exceeded my expectations! The class workload here is slightly intensive; however, I have been able to complete the work and have successfully passed.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Unfavorable experience with financial aid the school leaves it up to the student to obtain their own financial aid there is no guidance and unclear explanations as to the use of financial aid. There are some advisors who are helpful but in the end there are no alternatives other than the student obtaining their own funding

Academic Flexibility: Course Schedule – Courses are selected for on-line students no choice or flexibility

4 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid person I was assigned was great at communicating with me. I wish I was able to get more grants but loans still help.

5 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: I feel Ashford had been wonderful to work with from the very beginning. They helped me complete my transcript requests, financial aid documents, and made enrolling in classes completely pain free and easy. I love the five week formats, the flexibility of the online classes, the efficiency of the academic advisors when I ask questions, and the instructors have been very helpful. I enjoy the graphs that show my progress toward my degree, they motivate me to keep going. I would highly recommend Ashford to anyone wanting to earn a degree online.

4 College Senior

Online Courses: Courses follow a general layout. Although the online courses make life doable, it is the quick 5 weeks that make this course of action best.

4 College Sophomore

Online Courses: I am loving the flexibility that going to school online offers me, and I really enjoy Ashford University. The classes fly by and so far, I've enjoyed all of my Professors. :)

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: The online school experience has been very easy to navigate! I was super apprehensive at first but have had very few issues. I have had both good and bad experiences with Tech support when it was needed, but overall was able to resolve the issues I was having and able to get my work done.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: I attend online so I am not really familiar with campus resources other than the library that has been pretty useful in my studies.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: I love that I can do school on-line around my busy life schedule - wife, mom, and career woman. It is a lot to juggle. I like the interaction with my classmates and have learned a lot in the classes I have taken. The 5 week courses move pretty quickly so you do have to stay on top of things. Financial Aid communications have been a challenge but things have been working out with that so far.
This has been a good alternative to a traditional campus school for me and I will be very happy to get my degree

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: I am a online student, I have no difficulties because all resources I need I research and find myself. But Ashford does provide some informative resources.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
