Academic Flexibility: The flexibility of Ashford has been one of it's greatest aspects. The online courses are in 5 week intervals and attendance is met by a loose once a week sign on policy. Getting my courses in line as well as mapping my degree plan was made simple and allowed me to plan for entering into the masters program next year. Ashford has a 90 credit transfer limit. When I transferred 84 of my credits transferred leaving me with 36 to go. They offered me the ability to complete my degree in the shortest, cost efficient manner of any other college I researched.

Online Courses: The professors have an online link to contact the personally as well as a page to post course related questions. If I am ever unable to contact a course instructor, my advisor had been great at answering any questions. The courses also allows students to interact in relation to course material.

Campus Resources: The best part about Ashford university is how easy transferring has been. My credits transferred leaving me with only one year to my bachelor degree. I also love the variety of majors as well as the masters degree program. As a stay at home mom to a newborn baby, I am finally able to finish my education without losing valuable time with my new son. My advisor has been a tremendous help as well.

Campus Resources: I basically hardly never went outside of Ashford University for academic resources.

Academic Experience: I like that they expected college level work and attendance; and they were also fair. The ride wasn't easy; if any student that attends Ashford University thinks that it will be easy, they are wrong. Ashford University expects the most from their students and they push you; I appreciated this (because I can be lazy at times).

Tuition & Financial Aid: I picked this college because the tuition was fair and not over-priced.

Career Services: I have not yet had the opportunity to access the services of the career center; therefore, I do not know what to expect.

Academic Flexibility: The online classes are very convenient, though I do think that the accelerated program is a little too accelerated sometimes. It would also be nice to have a choice in classes. I would like to be able to have a selection of equivalent classes to choose from.

Academic Flexibility: I attend the online campus. My classes are 5 weeks long. I have a ton of flexability because I know all of the homework and assignments for the entire course at the beginning of the course.

Academic Flexibility: My experience has been that Ashford University makes adequate accommodations for me to accomplish my work goals and shifts classes to ensure I am able to finish my course work in an appropriate timeframe. My military credits applied to a year's worth of school which saves me a great deal of money as well as time spent in school.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The cost of the university is reasonable and they are willing to work with you when you run out of financial aid. Make sure you process your FAFSA early and send the back up information as soon as it is requested. They also help you to locate scholarships if available through links posted on their website.

Academic Flexibility: I love this school. I chose the university since there is no program available within an hour drive from my home and I needed the flexibility since we move consistantly with my fiance's employment. This school can be taken with me no matter where we go and I am able to maintain my GPA and continue with the university to get my Master's as well.

Campus Resources: The writing center is very informative , when it comes to helping you with different style papers.

Academic Flexibility: The main reason I chose this school is because my daugther is a student here also, and my attendance at the same college at the same time would be of great encouragment to her.

5 College Junior

Student Body: My school consists of different kinds of students. Some classmates are young and single, some are old and married, some are single parents, some are hard-working parents, and some are in the military.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I definitely believe that the tuition that I pay is worth the education that I am receiving. My financial aid office is also very quick to respond to any concerns that I have or help that I need.

4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: The classes are set up for maximum flexibility, this allows for me to take care of the rest of my life while still learning a new career. the university was able to quickly accommodate a reschedule of classes when I had an emergency situation with my life outside the university.

College Junior

Career Services: I haven't made to the time when I will need these services, but if the way I have been so helpfully treated I would say A+.

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: This grade would have been an A+, but the wireless does not work in your room. You have to relocate to the main lounge of your residence hall or actually go inside one of the other buildings on campus to connect to the wireless network. So, if you don't have an ethernet cord of 25 feet, then your basically going to be sitting at your desk, or all the way downstairs in the lounge, which may be full of noise and distractions. But on the upperhand, the speed of the internet is great. I can plug in my internet cord and log right on to the internet with no problem. I don't have to wait for anything to load or refresh. Printing is accessible and so are the computer labs. It will be an advantage to own your own computer, but if you don't then there are other computers you have access to on campus.

Campus Resources: I would say overall that the resources on campus are great. The only thing is the Durgin Center, which inside is a gym and work out facility, is a little hard to get into. You have to go there during a certain time of the day because nine times out of ten, the sports teams are in there throughout the day. Other resources such as the library, student center, and campus activities are awesome. There are a lot of events that occur in these areas on campus. When there are events happening on campus, you see mostly everybody attending. It's a really good experience to get involved and be apart of this kins od community.

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: My school has a tutoring program in a section of the library called the Flavian Center. They offer FREE tutoring to active students from students, staff, and teachers in certain subjects that you are having difficulty with. You don't have to have appointments, you can just walk in and get help with your work. The Flavian Center does close around 5pm, but the library stays open until 12am so you can go in and have a quiet place to study and get some work done. It's an awesome program they have here at Ashford. It really comes in handy during finals week.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
