5 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: Ashford provided a military grant which was half off for the cost of a semester hour credit. This was important to me being unemployed and still having to support my family.

5 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: Ashford University transferred all my credits including the credits I earned in the military at the Community College of the Air Force

4 College Junior

Online Courses: they have great tutorials on how to use the online system for classes and other resources that they make available to students, weather its online or in classroom.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: i have just started the online classes, and there is a few things i find different but the online classes are really good compare to other online classes that i have taken before.

5 College Junior

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: I LOVE Ashford, the technology the classes, its simple and efficient.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: Ashford campus is located in Iowa, Ashford is online also... I am given Many resources but not a gyms and the such

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: The advisers really now their stuff and are most helpful and patient. The teachers are friendly and reasonable. The students, I'm most proud of them, are there for a purpose and seem to take the studies very seriously.

4 College Senior

Online Courses: I really am enjoying the online courses, as well as the online communication with my fellow students and teacher. Each assignment has clear and concise instructions for completion. The library is outstanding,

4 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Tuition and financial aid were described in great detail so I knew what I was getting into. Additionally the school was most helpful in directly me to other sources of financial aid and scholarships.

4 College Senior

Student Body: There are students of all walks of life at Ashford. Wide age differences and different ethnicity backgrounds make for a very interesting class and discussion time. In my current class everyone seems to get along very well.

Academic Flexibility: Every one at the school I spoke with was exceptional in their job. Very knowledgeable and it felt like family. Not a huge university where you are just a number. I went to EMU right after high school and it was not personal or friendly. Additionally this school had exactly what I was looking for. The degree, the timing, online courses, and a flexible learning schedule.

4 College Sophomore

Online Courses: My online experience is going well. I love being able to set my own schedule and having my own balance with this online course. I am able to work at my own pace and completing assignments in a timely manner. The workload could be more than expected but fair and reasonable.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: My major is in Elementary Education or Education Studies. The class is off to a great start. Everything that I am taking is in connection with education and children. The workload is fair and not overwhelming at all.

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: My school may consist of people with full time jobs or full time parents. They have other responsibilities that may require their attention, in addition to being students. Most will agree that they are putting in work to provide a better life for their families and hope to start their career.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: The process to begin is very long. The professors are more than happy to assist you on anything you may be concerned about. The workload is manageable but you have to have the right mindset to get it done and some sort of balance.

3 College Senior

Online Courses: The workload was challenging in the beginning but I learn how to manage it with my work schedule in time. The online classes was very convient for me go to work during the day.

1 College Senior

Academic Experience: What a rollcoaster ride. My educational experience has very stressful and unfulling. I have had some difficulties with my core classes. I haven't successful pass due to my own fault. I have reached out to my advisor, but most of the time you hear from them unless you own money and then they call like you have committed a crime. Once I finish my degree program, I will never recommend this university yo anyone

5 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: The reason I chose Ashford University was because of the flexibility. I was able to work a full time job, be mom and still continue my school work. I am able to log into my account any time day or night and submit my work. The deadlines are very reasonable. My only complaints are that the Academic counselors are not very helpful as well as I have had 5 different ones in the last 6 months for who knows why. The school keeps changing them on me. I also find it frustrating that the counselors do not know what to refer students to and they do not know if you are even taking the right classes for your major.

1 College Junior

Career Services: After I graduated with my AA I tried accessing the career center and even submitted a resume. Needless to say 6 months later I yet to hear anything back from them. I am really disappointed with the academic advisers. Whenever I ask them for assistance either I do not hear back or I am told to just read the website and make my decisions based on what I read.

2 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Im getting an OK education but it is NO WAY! worth what they are charging for the classes. My only hope is to be able to find a good job after I graduate.

2 College Senior

Student Body: Primarily geared towards minorities and military. Felt very out of place at times.

3 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: When I was in my last two classes the University did cut backs and laid off my advisor. It was chaos after that. When continuing into the masters program there was little help and was unable to contact anyone for assistance. Took way to much time!

4 Recent Alumnus

Academic Flexibility: They are there when i need them and i know there work hours and they get back to me as soon as they can. the classes have there dead lines but it is easy to follow them.

4 Recent Alumnus

Career Services: SO far i have an A and i work my butt off and i love that i can still do my daily routine and get my work done with the time i want to

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
