Academic Experience: This program gave me a second chance to go back & finish what I started. The admissions team was very helpful. Also each & every professor made themselves available to assist with each class & student. Also the accreditation of this school is highly ranked even though it is considered a distant learning school. I will forever be grateful to Ashford for their part for helping me finally receiving my bachelors.

Academic Flexibility: I chose this school because of the flexability. I have three kids and I sometimes need to get into class late at night when things calm down. Ashford makes that possible

Tuition & Financial Aid: They care and it shows - well most of the time. I did have an issue because they were revamping their system so it was a revolving door as far as advisors for a period of time. They really do try to make things as smooth as possible and keep things flowing.

Online Courses: There are pros and cons to both. I love the ability to enter the classroom on my time and terms. It allows me to take care of the other things that are important in my life. The workload seems to be about the same although there are more papers. I have always found the professors approachable. Peer-to peer interaction could be better.

Campus Resources: Well some unique things between WNCC and Ashford are that I had a counselor that I can talk to about anything especially when I need help with my classes I didn't have that back at WNCC.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
