Campus Resources: In this response, I will be referring to the online classroom. I never have any technical issues out of the online classroom at Ashford. I am able to access the online classroom using any browser, whereas other schools may require you to use Internet Explorer. It is required for students taking online classes to have a computer. Unless of course, they go to the public library a lot. Although, I believe it is essential for anybody in college to have their own laptop. Having a printer is also important so students can print their online course materials and keep track of due dates and course calenders.

Overall Experience: If I had it to do all over, I would definitely choose Ashford University again. I complain about the cost of tuition and course materials, but when it comes down to it, I believe I will remain at my university until I complete my Bachelor's degree in 2017. The online classroom is very organized and the teachers utilize their teaching space in the classroom effectively. Everything is easy to locate and turning in assignment is simple!

Campus Resources: I cannot touch on the topic of the actual campus, however, the online library is very easy to use. Anything you need to research, you can find numerous resources using the Ashford Online Library.

Academic Flexibility: I must say, the teachers at Ashford are usually very understanding. They make reasonable accommodations to work with their students. There have been a few times when I would run out of time before completing an assignment. As long as you contact your instructor prior to the due date, they will usually work with you. My advisers have been very helpful and have made reasonable accommodations to help me manage my work load as well. The only time I really become frustrated is when I procrastinate or when I am working on a difficult assignment. I cannot recall a time when the administrators or faculty have frustrated me. Nor do I recall any hassles over the last year. Overall, the school and it's faculty are wonderful and will do anything they can to help you succeed and encourage you along the way.

Academic Experience: I rated Ashford at a 4 on this question because I am currently in my sophmore year and I have only taken my basic fundamental courses as of now. However, the work loads throughout those courses have kept me very busy. The teachers expect you to read and understand all materials. You have discussions, quizzes, and sometimes a written assignment each week. However, isn't this what we are supposed to expect out of a good college?

Tuition & Financial Aid: If I had known this was the next question I would not have included my criticism in the last response. With that being said, I would have actually rated Ashford as a 5 on the last question. The reasons given in my previous response should actually be applied here.

I do feel that the value of the education I am receiving is worth the tuition. However, as I stated before my husband is paying $2000 less at his university. The reason for this is because APU doesn't charge it's students for the cost of course materials, even if they have to send you a textbook by mail, there is no charge. Other than that, the financial aid process goes smoothly. The advisers are always available to answer any questions you may have and are very helpful.

Facilities: I rated Ashford University at a 4 because rating them at a 5 would be a lie. Everything about this college is wonderful. The advisers are terrific, the teachers and faculty are very helpful and encouraging. Overall, my only issue with Ashford Online University is the cost of tuition. The fact that my husband is paying $2000 less than I am every year at his school, is the only reason why this school did not get a rating of 5 from me. However, I would refer a friend to Ashford if they were inquiring about a really good school that is helpful along the course of your educational journey.

Overall Experience: It's pretty good. I received less financial aid than what I wanted, but the classes are pretty good, the teachers are nice and helpful, and my academic adviser is terrific. Also, they cut the time that you would waste searching for classes, commuting to classes, and so forth, saving more of your time for studies.

Online Courses: We can go to class when it is convenient for us. No commuting taking up our time. At my school we take one class at a time, which is also more efficient. Every class operates the same. No surprises.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
