4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: I have not had any problems accessing the online classroom from my home.

Academic Flexibility: Online courses make it very easy to work around your job and family schedule.

College Sophomore

Student Body: online courses do not see them and do not ask

Campus Resources: Attend online courses but library and all other resources are easily assessable.

Campus Resources: Attending online so need my own computer. Everything works great and if you have any problems tech support is always available.

College Sophomore

Facilities: Attend online courses have never been to the campus.

5 College Sophomore

Online Courses: Ashford University has a very unique online learning system. The teacher are very helpful and patient with you.

3 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: Things have gone fairly smooth. As a first time student I have no experience to compare to. There were occasions when communication and availability could make less frustration and confusion.

3 College Freshman

Online Courses: My experience has been that online courses require more work than traditional on campus classes which is a trade off for the convenience of it online. It's too bad because having more courses online means less overhead for the school thus less money going out for having a traditonal classroom.

College Freshman

Campus Resources: This is a online school so there is no chance to check things out on the campus.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: If I found another online degree that fits my educational goals better I would choose that one otherwise this a very good school and they are willing to help you.

4 College Freshman

Career Services: From what I have reviewed they are pretty good but since I am going on into a degree that isn't offered there I haven't studied them too closely.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: Compared to other schools of it's like it rates up there. My problem is that I work and process things faster than most and I am left frustrated waiting for the others to catch up to me. That is a common problem with online schools because the vast majority do not allow self paced learning.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: Like I said before it's hard to find degrees in Alternative med so I was very excited to be offered this opportunity.

5 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: This school is very military friendly, offering tuition discounts and all required books paid for. They helped me fill out all of the required paperwork and told me what had to be done, where to go to do it and how to make sure it was accepted.

5 College Freshman

Student Body: It's hard to rate or review the student body because it's an online course but judging from our introduction assignment we have a very diverse group. My class includes everything from stay at home parents to business owners to military personnel and they come from all over the world.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: It's hard to find online programs dealing with alternative med. and it was a relief to finally find one!

4 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: Overall things have been pretty good. I had some issues with getting logged into the student portal but we have finally got that figured out and things are going smoothly.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I'm very happy with the people I've been introduced to and the friends I've made here. Some professors are absolutely brilliant and fun to have. The school's technicalities and rules are what bring it down. Security is a joke, food isn't generally good, and the technology is only average.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
