Online Courses: I really enjoy that I am able to attend classes on my schedule. I have a full time job and need to have a school that works around me instead of me working around the classes.

Overall Experience: Cant say enough about the virtues of the on-line education option... outstanding

Online Courses: I've got nothing but good to say about my time as an on-line student with ashford. Like with any school you get back what you put into the course of study. Deadlines for work is reasonable and really arent an issue as long as you the student stays engaged.....Props

Academic Flexibility: Online education is great. Being a mom of two young boys, volunteering as a writer for an online entertainment site and being able to receive my education is great. I feel good about what I do and know that I am in good hands.

Academic Experience: I am majoring in Journalism/Mass Communications. I love that I am learning about everything I need to know such as writing, editing, media law and ethics on top of other applicable general education course to my degree. Some of the information gets a little repetitive, but it helps instill information into my head when working on something. I am able to cross reference from past classes and current ones, aiding in my education.
Some teachers are a little more hard on students than others, but I think that is normal where ever you go. It's a good way to strive for your grades, and push your self in your education.
I plan on taking English course by spring as well to add a double major to my plan.
As of right now, the course I take are applicable to my current volunteer position at All that's Epic. I write stronger, I research in a matter of minutes and get my news out at a moments notice if need be.

Academic Experience: I don't have a lot of work to do with classes that is not overwhelming. I have a set schedule, same basic idea every week - two discussion posts, quizzes, responses to posts, papers and final assignments, but each week pertains to the text we read in a given week.
Professors are great and if I have a question, the professors are great at getting back as soon as possible.
Registration is very simple and I like that you can take your classes in a particular order so you are not getting burnt out over any given subject.

Overall Experience: I have had a great overall experience. I called to inquire about Ashford University and was starting class a week later. Honestly, it is one of those things that I never look back to recall on because I am so happy with my decision. I know I will go far and I have a great team of instructors and advisors there for me, whenever I need a little push or a simple question. I have learned a lot in the last 15 months since I transferred in from community college and love that I can access class when convenient with my schedule.

Online Courses: I like the peer-to-peer interaction. I say this because when you are working on your discussion posts for the week and you have an idea of how something may be, another student can chip in and say something else that can challenge you. In the long run, you work together and form you own opinion. I like that flexibility in class because you learn more off of one another along with course text and information.

Student Body: I have a wide variety of people in classes from all over, whether it be the military, different races and people from all over the world. I am able to talk to them about their personal experiences and they tell stories of their area. It is nice to be able to connect with other students in class, even if it is online education. It makes class more enjoyable and less of a pain.

Tuition & Financial Aid: From the time I had enrolled, they walked me through what I needed and took care of anything they were able to on their end. I have had the best experience, no complications whatsoever.

Overall Experience: All of my classes are online. Most of the teachers have been helpful. There have been a couple of exceptions and two of the teachers were horrible. They never responded back when help was requested and one of them didn't even respond when asked where I could find help. All in all a hood experience, but prices do go up every year!!!

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
