Tuition & Financial Aid: I feel the price is a little too high for an accelerated course and that you are pretty much teaching yourself through each class but again I wouldn't know how I would manage my crazy twenty hour work shifts on a traditional class

Academic Experience: I like the fact that I can choose to declare a minor, I couldn't do that at University of Phoenix.

Career Services: I have not used my school's career services yet, so I don't know much about them.

Student Body: From what I've seen, my peers are many different ages and come from different backgrounds but we all have the common goal of wanting to improve our lives.

Tuition & Financial Aid: My financial aid package is covering everything but I did have to get a large amount in student loans. I'm hoping to get scholarships so that I won't have to borrow so much next year.

Facilities: I'm an online student. I am not familiar with the campus.

Campus Resources: I'm an online student, so I'm not familiar with the campus resources.

Overall Experience: The thing I like most about Ashford is that the academic advisors and financial aid team are with you, motivating you to succeed. My academic advisor calls me at least once a week and emails me several times a week to check on me.

Online Courses: Online courses require a lot more self-discipline. Since there's no set class time, it's up to you to stay on top of your work, and motivate yourself. Another thing about online classes is that it's a requirement to interact with your peers every week in what are called discussion questions. That's been the most difficult part for me because I never know what to say and I have to force myself.

College Senior

Online Courses: I do not take online courses.

Campus Resources: The athletic center is small and hard to use if a team is there. I don't really use the student center. There are a variety of campus activities which are fun like club events and the midnight movie screenings where the school rents out the movie theater once a semester so students can watch a free movie. The university and town libraries are small, but if you can't find what you are looking for you can ask them to bring something to you from a different branch.

College Senior

Career Services: I haven't really used the Career Center.

3 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: I only had one college credit in high school and it transferred without a hitch. Professors are willing to be flexible with their classes as long as students have good reason (death in the family, sickness, athletics) and go through the proper steps to excuse themselves from class or ask for extensions on assignments.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: Since it's a small school class room sizes are small. Even the lecture halls probably can't hold more than 40 students. The workload seems pretty fair (hard but not impossible) and the curriculum is pretty good too, but I feel that since Clinton's so small there aren't many internship opportunities especially in my field (Computer Graphic Design).

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: Our professors are really helpful and accommodating. They are always available during office hours and willing to work around your schedule. There are also tutoring facilities like The Flavian Center which you can visit. The class registration process is easy and quick.

4 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Tuition is really low (about $12,000) and if you have a 3.5 grade point average or higher you automatically receive the Presidential Scholarship which pays your full tuition leaving you to pay only for things like room and board, and technology and activity fees. You can also apply for a room and board scholarship that includes the $6,000 room and board fee plus the meal plan.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
