Overall Experience: I have found everyone at Ashford University to be very helpful and considerate of my goals and helping me best achieve these goals. They have given me various options and implemented them according to my wishes. I would pick Ashford again as my experience there has been very posititive. I am attending my classes on line but will actually attend my graduation ceremony to receive my degree. I look forward to finishing my degree process at Ashford. I have found my instructors to be extremely knowledgable for each class.

Student Body: Online Student – Not sure, never been on campus, just on the internet for all classes and registration.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: Although I have not spent time at Ashford on campus I would only imagine it is as student friendly as there online services.

Online Courses: Online Is Awesome – Online schooling is wonderful for those that have full time careers and family. I was hesitant at first because I was unsure of what I would actually learn in this type of format, but to my surprise the course work can actually be very challenging and made me learn even more that I think I would in a traditional setting.

Student Body: Varied and Multicultural – I go to school with a wide variety of students. From veterans, to businessmen, to single parents, to recent high school graduates, there are a multitude of students from every facet of society. I have learned from my classmates as well as my teachers.

5 College Freshman

Campus Resources: Accessible and Helpful – Each student has a team of advisers available at any time. The Library is not only large, but all the data is available online as well, allowing me to do my research anywhere. The Writing Center is second to none, and the staff there are willing to help whenever I need it.

Academic Flexibility: Overall Pretty Solid – The experience I have had since October 2011 with Ashford has been almost 100% positive. I chose Ashford because the main campus is in the town I grew up in so I was already familiar with the school. They also offer online classes which is what I need for flexibility of my time. The only reason I gave the grade of B+ is that their tuition reimbursment policies are too strict. I ran into problems at the very start of the process which almost caused me to retract my decision to go back to school.

Online Courses: Professor/Student Relationship – The hardest thing about going to school online is that there is no one on one interaction. It makes it extremely difficult to learn subjects such as statistics when you cannot ask live questions and get live answers from the teacher. Since we all have busy lives outside of school its also hard to get your questions answered in a timely fashion before the assignments are due so you have to take it upon yourself to look for help outside the virtual classroom.

2 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Statistics in Psychology – The material is like a foreign language to students who've never had statistics. It's hard to ask for help being that the class is online. A lot of us students have no idea what we're doing and it's hard to help each other by chatting through email. They should have some sort of webinar time set up for students w/ questions that need face time for explanations.

Student Body: I am currently taking online courses. From what I learned in previous courses, there is plenty of diversity. There are different ages, races, religions, locations, genders, sexual orientation, and others. We often have discussions to post, that allow everyone to state their thoughts and opinion. I have also learned there are a lot of military veterans at Ashford.

Online Courses: The Pros to Online Classes – Online classes are very convenient instead of sitting in class. I am able to manage my time better, since I do not have a specific time to attend class. Everything is organized, so I know when everything is due. The course work helps me learn better. I am able to chat with others in my course about assignments. Professors are always available.

3 College Sophomore

Online Courses: Ease of Workload – since working fulltime online courses are a easier to do.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: THIS IS ONE AREA I WILL COMPLIMENT THE EASE OF PROCESS.

Overall Experience: HAS CHANGED PEOPLE THREE TIMES SO FAR AND THEY WONT RETURN OR REPLY TO MY REQUEST FOR CHANGING DEGREES AND POSSIBLE TRANSFERING

1 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: NO SCHOLARSHIPS AVAIL – BEWARE , PLEASE CHECK YOUR SCHOLARSHIP STUFF PRIOR TO APPLYING, THIS SCHOOL OFFERS NOTHING FOR ONLINE ATTENDANCE.

4 College Student

Career Services: Post Grad Services – I do not know yet what the services are like post graduation.

Online Courses: On-Line Vs Traditional – On-line courses were kind of scary for me to think about. I am not proficent in computer stuff at all. But I decided to take them for the easy and convience. I am getting the same education as a traditional student, but can attend class when I want. It's easy to submit my work and the grading has been fair and reasonably quick. In all I would say that if you are a busy or returning student, look in to on-line courses. They have the flexibility you need, with the education you want.

5 College Sophomore

Student Body: All of the students I have spoken to seem very nice and want to learn about you and you want to learn about them. I have not ran across a student I did not like. I am sure it will happen but so far so good. All of the students talk to each other everyone week in the discussions and give each other our ideas/thoughts on the subject. Which I must say is a very good idea!

3 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: The Unknown – What I am paying for college is not the problem. What the problem is, you do not have enough money to go to the college. I thought that I had everything taken care of but found out that I do not have enough for the next semester. Therefore, I am looking for grants to help me with tuition.

3 Recent Alumnus

Online Courses: Not for Faint of Heart – Online classes are not for everyone. However, Ashford does their best to ensure that you get accustomed to the way they run their programs. I do like the fact that there is a lot of interaction with your classmates and you learn sooo much. You really do not miss being in class because of all the interaction. The only issue with the online classes is that they are five weeks long and they go by fast, so you do not have as much time to fix your grade if you are not doing well. However, if you have good time management and are open to new ideas, it will be worth the challenge.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: They Believed Even When I Didn't – A few years ago, I was having difficulties getting accepted to colleges due to financial/transcript issues with a previous college. Every school I applied to told me that they would not accept me because of this despite the fact that was ten years ago, being paid, I currently held an associate's degree and had a grant to go to school for free. Every school turned me down and I was starting to give up and then Ashford contacted me. I told them my situation and my academic advisor literally said, "Is that it because you can start school in two weeks." Their belief is that if a person wants to go to school, they should be able to and I ended up getting my Bachelor's from them. I am so thankful for them because I literally had given up.

Online Courses: Sometimes the weekly papers we have to do it to much and sometimes a final paper is to much when you can think of 8-10 pages without a title and reference page. Everything at Ashford is simple for me.I have more time with my kids and when they sleep I can do homework. No getting out of bed at the crack of dawn either.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Classes Online – I am in course online through Ashford because I have children and attending traditional college is not in the cards. Online school is more for me. I can learn and take my time on things you have have to post on stuff certain days of the week.

5 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: Keep Your Head Held High for the Prize at the End – This School is so easy to work with. The staff are very helpful in all departments and if they do not have the answer they will bend over backwards to find it. The teachers in the online classes are very nice and some are more understanding than others. Then their are times when you realize certain instructors are only teaching online for the money. I do not like it when a teacher take 3 days to email you back. I recommend Ashford to everyone though.

5 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: Ashford University has excellent flexibility as I am enrolled in classes online because I have restraints like children keeping me from attending campus courses. I love being able to go to school from my home.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
