Campus Resources: What sets Ashford apart from other schools is it academic programs, they are present and relevant to your career, current and future endeavors. The homepage gives you quick access to the social scene as well as what happening with the campus life. The unique opportunities are displayed and very accessible any time you need them. Connecting with blog and Facebook keeps one connected to the inside scoop! It is a team you want to be a part of.

Student Body: Online Classes – Our student body usually communicates in class discussions that are due every week. We comment on each others posts. A lot of times, students will bring religion into the conversation where I feel that it should have been left out altogether. Unless you want me to talk about my religion, keep yours to yourself.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Affordable! Easy Access – I always put off school because I thought it was too expensive. There are so many financial aid opportunities, something can be found for everyone.

Tuition at Ashford is $390 per credit hour. A lot of the books are digital and can be downloaded to your computer, phone, pad, or reader. Classes can also be accessed through the Ashford App. Yep, there's an app for that.

Apply for all of the financial aid that you can. You never know what's available and what you can qualify for.

Overall Experience: Enjoying School – After being out of school for 18 years, going back was a bit daunting. I knew I had to change careers due to my health, so I looked into several schools.

Ashford is a great choice if you aren't able to attend a conventional college.

I like Ashford because the classes are split into 5 week blocks. This way, I can still work full time and complete my classwork when I'm available to do so. I work midnight shifts, so I can do my classwork at night, or when I'm at home. The beauty of online classes!

There is a lot of writing involved. How else would they be able to evaluate what you're learning? There is usually a main paper, 6-8 pages due every 5 weeks.

Online Courses: Online Comparison – The peer to peer interaction is much different because you must initiate conversations and information transfers with students. You can't just sit in a class room and observe other classmates and talk or go to lunch and discuss lecture, this takes some getting used to. But it is very important to network in online classes.

Academic Flexibility: Academic Experience – They are very helpful and understand that some students have priorities such as families, work, or extracurriculars. Transferring credits was a breeze and I loved that about this university.

Overall Experience: I am very pleased with my overall experience, but I wish Ashford would do more with their career services and internships should be mandatory to help secure employment after graduation. Other than those factors course work is great and instructors are very knowledgeable.

Online Courses: The online courses I have taken so far at Ashford have been a good experience. The workload is manageable and I have been able to learn more I think being able to focus on one class at a time. I went to a Brick and mortar school straight out of high school and while I learned a lot I think with my other responsibilities now it would be difficult to carry a full load in a traditional school environment. The Shortened classes help me complete a full load in a more manageable way.

Academic Experience: Manageable Workload – I was having difficulties finding the needed time to go back to school, but with the 5 week classes at Ashford and only taking one class at a time it has helped keep the workload manageable for me so I can juggle my life and school work.

Overall Experience: Non-Traditional Student – Going to school online works well for me where I am right now in my life, being a non-traditional student and having the family responsibilities made going back to school difficult but finding a good online school made it possible. I am hoping to be able to stay on course to graduate next summer. I would choose Ashford again the professors and TAs have been helpful as have the enrollment counselors and the Academic Advisors.

Campus Resources: Everything is done through the student portal. There isn't any printing so no cost for printing ink and paper just copy and paste. They have online books which makes it very convenient to study.

Tuition & Financial Aid: You have an admissions advisor that works with you every step of the way to helping with financial aid.
Ashfords financial advisors are also your academic advisor. They can assist you in all your courses and with your funding as well.
Neat program.

Campus Resources: I started at a community college finished all the prerequisitions required of my academics. I chose Ashford University because of the willingness to work with me. They were very encouraging and helpful. I have always struggled with interpretation, they recognized this and worked with me to overcome my disabilities.
Go Ashford!

Overall Experience: Online Courses – I love being able to take my courses online. I know I'm missing out on the living on campus experience, but that's okay. I can access my courses anytime I want too. Wondering why college students have to take courses that don't seem to have anything to do with my major (criminal justice) like literature. I know that it's a good way for schools to make more money, but I think some of them are a waste of time and money.

Academic Flexibility: The online coursework fits in to anyone's schedule. The flexibility is enough that does not allow excuses for NOT to further your education.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I have a full ride scholarship to be in this school. i only pay a small amount of money to the school for the fees. the tuition i pay is worth it because i get a great experience here. I think it is not a lot but it is a lot for a person like myself.

Overall Experience: Expect the Unexpected – I love my school. It has made my experience in college so enjoyable. The people in here are so welcoming and friendly. Everybody is always smiling and help each other out. The level of education is a college level.

Campus Resources: Im off campus and the schooling is online so the student definetly has to have a computer and internet connection. The schools network seems to be very reliable.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: The classes i'm taking are Online classes which allow me to do my class work around work schedule. The class are weeks long which isnt long at all so you have to be on top of your time management. The down side if this there is no tutoring available to you also when you need assistance with academic advisor or financial advisor it takes approximately to hear back from them.Another downside is the school is a profit institution so finacial aid is very limited.

4 College Senior

Career Services: Post-Grad Services – The Post-grad services were very helpful in helping me find a graduate school that I could attend. They explained that University of the Rockies was a sister school and they basically follow the same format that I am already familiar with.

4 College Senior

Student Body: The student body at Ashford University was very diverse. I met people who were in their 50's as well as some who were in their 20's. There were students from all areas of the country. I got to associate with many different people with various backgrounds. It was interesting and enjoyable.

Academic Flexibility: This has been great, I was worried about online but I have had no issues.

Campus Resources: Open Door – I have no wait or problems getting the infomation I need from them.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
