Academic Flexibility: Academic Flexibiltiy – My experience so far at Ashford has been great! I enjoy the classes and have learned a lot. Transferring classes has been a problem because the last online University won't release them to Ashford because they did not recieve their financial aid. I feel that was not my fault. I tried contacting the other school from March-July about my portion of the financial aid and I kept getting the run around. I could never get up with my financial aid advisor and her supervisor was telling me different stories yet I was advised to continue taking classes. By August I had taken about 4 or 5 classes with little or no contact from financial advisors. Therefore, when I decided to tranfer it became a problem, they wanted money from me. I applied the money was there it,the school had access to it, was not my fault.

Academic Experience: Since I have transferred to Ashford University,I have had more time to share with my children. The previous online school took up a lot of my time after work. I was to the computer trying to complete assignments all the time. At Ashford university Online, I have discovered that i do not have to spend most of my time on the computer. The classes are well organized and not overflowing. The Instructors and TA's are very informative, they respond to your questions quickly and provide as much help as possible to help you complete your assignments. If you want to look at your financial account it can be viewed on your home page where all the information is in order and updated each day. Telephone numbers of advisors ae available and they (DO)return calls immediately and they email to keep you informed of what's going on in the University and your educational progress. It took no time all to get registered and begin my first class. Everyone at Ashford has been wonderful! I am glad I transferred!

Academic Flexibility: Online Education – Because of oinline education flexibility is number one. I have received absolutely no problems because my Graduation Team handles issues before they become a hassle.

Overall Experience: My Cheering Squad – My Graduation Team has been with me for almost three years and I believe I would not be on traveling an educational quest without them. I am a recoverying alcoholic/addict (23 yrs. clean) although my family judges any possible accomplishments as negative. My Graduation Team has become family and because of them I believe my school experience is an A (so is my GPA 3.97).

Student Body: I LOVE THE STUDENTS – I THINK THE INTERACTION WITH THE STUDENTS IS GREAT. THE DIVERSITY AND THE BACKROUNDS WITH EVERYONE IS GREAT!

Academic Flexibility: The Hassles in the Financial Offices – DEALING WITH FINANCIAL OFFICES HAS BEEN TERRIBLE. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER AND I WAS TOLD THE SCHOOL WOULD COST ONE THING AND AFTER I WAS APPROVED, ENROLLED , AND ATTENDING THE SCHOOL I FOUND OUT ABOUT ALOT OF EXTRA CHARGES. IF I COULD READJUST MYSELF TO GO TO A NEW SCHOOL I WOULD.

Online Courses: Time Management – I had somewhat of a rough start getting used to all the typing the work for the discussions each week. Making a schedule helped though.

Academic Experience: Online Classes – I'm taking a full college course online. Its been fun so far. It is a lot of writing and I need the practice.

Campus Resources: Ashford University resources are very helpful and simple to get to. I will be completing my courses online so resources are just a click away. I've completed the virtual tour of how to get to all the resources that my university offers and it's very convenient for me. And if I ever need help I can always contact each resources by phone or my email.

Academic Experience: I enjoy the course I am in. I think I am taking a lot from it. The professor seems helpful with his points. Workload is about what it should be for a serious college course.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Currently I have not received my financial aid yet. This is my first time enrolling into college and I'm really excited. I'm a mother of 3 so I will be completing my college courses online. My transcripts are in process right now of being faxed to my admissions counselor and from there my enrollment will finally be processed. I haven't received an award letter via email because of my enrollment being delayed. My tuition is more than $24,000.00 and I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the cost because it's thousands of dollars. Currently I'm unemployed and I'm a full time homemaker so most of my time is with my kids and I love taking care of them. I love interacting with children and it fills me with joy to know that I can help children in anything and everything that they do. Furthering my education in early childhood education is a great opportunity and this field I believe is in demand. Hopefully I qualify for the full pell grant and I'm currently seeking help with a free scholarship(s).

Campus Resources: I just started and am only in my first class, but the staff as far as my advisor goes and financial aid assistants have been very helpful. Enrolling in school and getting financial aid went quite smoothly. I think that the class I am in right now is a very good class. Even though it is an online course it is challenging and I think I am getting a lot from it. I like the support I can get from fellow students on the Facebook page or on the discussion posts in the classroom. Overall my experience has been pretty good.

Online Courses: My Online Experience – I like the freedom to be in the classroom for only 2 days per week. I wish I had quicker access to the advisers however,a nd I wish these student loans were non-existent!

Campus Resources: School Spirit, What Is That? My school seemed to ber7 really be excited that I was planning on attending. After they got me in the door and everything, they seemed to lose interest in me. They don't answer their phones, when I call with a question. As well, if I leave a voice mail, I still don't hear from them. I would not recommend this school for anyone who is just starting out in college. They are great at pulling you in, but not at keeping you there.

As well, the instructors do not seem interested in their classes. This school is online, but the teachers can't even seem to use spell check themselves. They get onto you if you mess something up, but can't even correct themselves. If you let them know that they made a mistake, they get offensive and pissy.

Academic Experience: Academic Experience – All of my academic experiences have been very good with the aspect of when I was having some issues they were there to help

Tuition & Financial Aid: When the tuition went up we were notified at least two weeks in advance.

College Freshman

Campus Resources: As stated before I am starting on March 27th. I do not know every little detail about the class rooms, I just know you obviously need a computer to do online schooling.

College Freshman

Overall Experience: I am enrolled to start Ashford on March 27th. I choose this school because #1 they offer the field I want to go into. #2 you can double or triple your classes every 5wks which can make you time in school go by faster. #3 I have had a wonderful admissions counselor talking to me for a couple months answering every question I had before I made my decision. If I had to make a decision over again, yes I would choose Ashford University.

3 College Freshman

Campus Resources: the library is very small and the students at the desk aren't very helpful. when i have questions about homewrok assingnments the tutors at the student center really make it a rough time and sometimes aren't useful.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: College Life – The reason why I chose this school was because the tuition was completely free. But my experience here has not been the best. The community is very dead and it wares off on me. Although there are many school activities and games to attend to, it doesn't feel at home.

College Student

Career Services: Haven't reached this point in my Ashford experience yet.

College Student

Overall Experience: I am just entering Ashford as a freshman, I don't actually beign classes until next week. I have had a good time learning about the school, and all staff has been very helpful. I look forward to starting classes.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Online Learning Teams – I have attended online schools that require you to participate in online learning teams with others in different states/time zones. If one person failed to contribute to the group, the entire group would have to pick up the slack. I LOVE the fact that Ashford doesn't have these teams. You are responsible for doing your own work and you don't have to worry about other students. I am a busy mom and wife, working a full-time job, and going to college. I do not have time to write part of a paper that another student didn't take the time to do. I am responsible for enough people in my home, without being responsible for my classmates in other areas of the country.

5 College Student

Student Body: Student Diversity – People log in from all over the world. I am enrolled in online classes and every one gets along.

4 College Student

Overall Experience: The school is very active. I mean everyone participates. The teachers make sure that you are not slacking with your work and your advisors check on your progress form time to time as well. I wouldnt change it so far because i was warmly welcomed. My favorite experience was the introductions.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
