Academic Experience: Planned Out for Me – One of the things I appreciate about Ashford the most is that they do my entire schedule for me. I don't have to rifle through a course catelog and hope that my classes I need aren't full. I am completely registered through my graduation date. I don't have to worry about taking any unnecessary classes.

Academic Experience: Love This School – The admission counselors are wonderful, they are military friendly, and the textbooks for class are easy to use and interesting, unlike most textbooks I've seen throughout the years

College Senior

Career Services: Services Are Provided – They have those services but I have not really looked into them. But what I have read it seems to be at my advantage to look into it more. The services are there but nothing is guaranteed the person still has to do most if not all of the work.

Academic Experience: Love My Major – I am a healthcare administration major and I love all that I am learning. There is so much to learn in this field and I love that we are ask certain questions for discussion because it expands my knowledge on the career that I have chosen. Awesome.

Overall Experience: Slow Responding Professor – During this class the professor was absent and she took to long to respond to the previous assignment that when it was time to do another the grade was basically the same because we didn't get a quick response. Also the school is pretty predictable with online classes that it gets pretty boring.

Academic Experience: Great Teacher – I received this grade because I turned in my assignments and I responded to the required number of students. I also understand the mechanics of writing a great essay.

4 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Quick and Easy – The university has a list of financial aid programs that you must fill out. Honestly, the only one that took awhile to fill out was FAFSA.

5 College Junior

Student Body: Melting Pot – From online introductions, I have 'met' people from all walks of life and from all over the country.

Online Courses: Time Management – There seems to be a lot of work but as long as you space your work throughout the week, you won't get overwhelmed at the last minute. It is up to you to submit your work so keep track. I have to say, I have always got a quick response from the instructor with every question I have had. If you see a problem with getting something finished, contact your instructor and more times then not, he/she will be able to help you.

Online Courses: Work Load – I was concerned on how the transition from learning in a classroom to learning online. Turns out it was not that hard. Knowing how to navigate through out the classroom and textbook help out a lot.The online classroom was very easy to get around in and familiarize yourself with. The work was moderate, at times it was easy then at others you had to search into your textbook for answers. Having to do that helped you transition from high school learning to college learning.

Overall Experience: I absolutely love my school. From the first phone conversation to now, as I enter into my sophomore year, I have felt like it is home. The staff have all been very kind, caring, and personally involved in my education, choices, and respond warmly to my seemingly endless questions. I could not be happier with my choice of Ashford University. I would recommend this school to anyone who is looking to further their education. You can not ask for a better opportunity.

Student Body: A lot of studentshave good jobs and are bettering their education.

Academic Experience: Good Classes – The instructors at Ashford are very well educated and seem to very good teachers. I am a jouralist major and the classes are bringing me closer to wat I can utilize in myfield.

Overall Experience: Happy With Choice, However – I am told I have to order books eperately when could order the online book throgh them. I am not sure of th changes.

3 College Junior

Career Services: Hunt for Information – Career services include help with a resume and some job openings, tips on looking for jobs and applying.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Finacial Aid Department Needs More Organization – I turned in all my paper work before hand. I was undecided about attending Ashford at first, after hearing

Academic Experience: Classes Are Good – All of the classes that I have taken has been related to my major. I love the fact that I do not feel like I am wasting time taking odd classes. I also love the fact that I am learning so much. As a child my mother always told me that I thought I knew everything and I disagreed but now I think that she may have been telling the truth because I did not realize that I had so much to learn. I thought that it would be very easy for me to major in Early Childhood Education because I had worked in a DayCare for so long but I still had so much to learn. I feel so much more equiped and qualified already!

Overall Experience: I love my school. I like the way the teachers interact with me and how the other students and I learn with each other. I love conversing with other people that have goals and dreams that are similar to mine. It is very encouraging to hear that others have issues in their life but they are still striving for better. I love the fact that most teachers at Ashford actually care about you and looks at me as an asset of the future and not just another student trying to get a grade. I am studying online so i do not attend many events but because of the way we communicate in our classrooms, facebook, and twitter. I do not miss the campus life. I do not feel as if I am missing a thing. At first I was attending school online because I did not like school and was sick of going to class and working a full time job but now I can honestly say that school isn't so bad after all.

Academic Experience: Outstanding Professors – the professors are very understanding and every question that I may have is always anwered. I wouldn't change anything about my experience here so far.

Overall Experience: Great School to Attend – This is my first time taking online courses and I really am enjoying myself. It takes a lot of reading to understanding to want to get a degree this way.

4 College Junior

Online Courses: Great Experience – I really enjoy taking online classes because of the convience it offers.

3 College Junior

Online Courses: Depends on the Instructor – I have attended 3 online classes at AU and have come to the conclusion that, your online class experience depends how active your instructor will be, as well as yourself. Just like any traditional class, you activeness in the classroom will play be role in the outcome at the end of the course. Also, just like traditional classes, it is important for the instructor to be active with the students to influence a positive outcome at the end of the course. I struggled for a descent grade in one of my online classes and I feel it was because the instructor was not very active in the course. Many times I wanted to know the answers to questions and confusion of other students but never got them. Instructors should be required to be more active in an online class then students, to ensure course quality.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Transfer School – My school is a good school to get your mind ready for attending school again. The introduction to my school was smooth and easy to comprehend. There was a lot of support during my enrollment proccess, but not so much now that Im into my fourth class. AU is a good school to get started with when returning to school. You will definitely end up transfering schools either before or after aquiring an associates degree.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: My Experience – I have had nothing but good experiences from applying to being a full time student. Everyone is very helpful and really provide what is needed to get through classes. My instructor are easily accesible and any questions that I have are answered promptly. I could not ask for more from an online school.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Work Out and Food – the gym is always open but the cafeteria close so early

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
