Academic Flexibility: Course Selection – Although I thoroughly feel challenged as an Ashford University student; I wish there was more flexibility in the choice of courses for online students. I am majoring in Psychology and am close to earning a bachelor's degree and would rather have had the opportunity to choose some of my courses. Being a Psychology major means I have to take the courses that they schedule for me and this feels a bit confining to me.

Campus Resources: College Class Advisor – My adviser has been very personable and reliable with me. I had alot of issues because I had NO CLUE what to do! Austin is the best!

Campus Resources: I Had Some Problem Getting in Touch With One of the Advisors. As for the tech support Ashford is the way to go! I enrolled blindly and had no idea what where and how of anything going back to school online! I do like my classes at Ashford and would reccomment them for an online college

Tuition & Financial Aid: There are not much finanical aid that is available with them. You can get loans and so forth.

Overall Experience: Happy With Experience – I am very happy with my univeristy. I think that this a great experience and anyone who is dedicated to online courses needs to attend Ashford. Everyone faculty, support, advisor are all wonderful people to work with and very helpful.

Online Courses: Introduction to Algebra – I enjoyed taking this class. I did get help from my instructor when needed. I found that I think that it easier for me to learn at my own pace online than i a class room. I get more attention from the instructor one on one verse than in a classroom environment.

Academic Flexibility: Credit Transfer – Some of my credits transferred. Many transferred as miscellaneous.

Campus Resources: I use the library site for my online classes. It is very convenient. I have not had to ask for assistance, but I can email questions if I need to.

Academic Experience: Satisfied With Online Classes – I'm on my second online course and so far its fine

Academic Experience: Instructors are generally great and experienced and helpful. There is lots of reading and writing and much to be learned in a short period of time. It is a challenge but achievable none the less

Academic Experience: Offers an interesting and challenging educational journey with a variety of degrees and choices of classes, start dates, and Instructors. The classroom is easy to use and materials are relevant but expensive

Tuition & Financial Aid: Finacial Aid Office & Tuition – Ashford Admin is very helpful in obtaining financial aid in order to get started. The tuition is incredibly expensive in comparison to a local university. Books are also very costly unless a student can find them used. Some books can only be purchased online from Ashford which in somewhat of a monopoly and takes away a student's choice to buy used and save money. The admin at Ashford is not so helpful in any way once a student is enrolled. Services leave a lot to be desired. Most Instructors are quality but a handful are below average.

Online Courses: Time Management – As long as students use their time wisely, the courses are not overwhelming. I work full-time and manage to complete my discussions and assignments on time. I sometimes fall behind on the readings because the courses are only five weeks and weekly readings are often four to five chapters of material. I like being able to have an online course; it is a lot more flexible than a traditional class would be and can be challenging if your time is not managed properly.

Campus Resources: Online Campus – Ashford does have a campus in Iowa, but I only attend online. There is extensive materials in the library, and several resources listed for students who need help.

Tuition & Financial Aid: May Not Cover All Costs – I was able to get financial aid through my school, but was also told I may end up having to pay toward the end of the year. I also have a lot more books to buy for each course and have not received much for reimbursements as I did in my previous institution. I like that the tuition is less at this school, but I feel like I am covering more costs out of pocket.

Academic Experience: Classes Are as Expected – Aside from the first course, the classes are what I would expect for my major in Health Care Administration. Everything I have learned thus far has been directly related to my major. I find most the the material very interesting and have learned new things. The workload is fair, usually one to two discussion questions and a quiz or essay, sometimes both each week. The course time is only five weeks, so students must utilize their time wisely.

Academic Experience: Instructor Feedback Weak – I really enjoy Ashford online. The instructors have all been very friendly and willing to help. However, whenever I have received feedback on essays I do not get specific reasons as to why something is not correct. As an example, a recent essay was marked down for minor errors in APA format, but I did not know what errors I made because no details were given. After I asked the instructor, she did further explain what errors I made and suggested I review the APA format guide in the writing center. I have had similar issues with other instructors where I have asked a question in regard to an assignment and was given a generic answer with "I hope this helps" attached to it. I don't want to disrespect the instructor, but that type of response does not help. I understand classrooms are large and answering every question takes time, but a little more specific answers and feedback would be better.

Overall Experience: I Liked the School Would Recommend It to a Friend – I found that Ashford was a good school that helped me get back into the swing of things and I feel that it is a breath of fresh air for people in a similar condition as me. I would recommend this school to friends and family but it is time to move on to other schooling options.

Career Services: They Have Not Helped Me Out Yet – They have given me the tools to succeed but I feel that could help me to go to a better school or get the job I desire.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I Really Had a Good Overall Experience Here – I liked Ashford University and feel that they challenged me and had me reach down and dig to make good grades. I did have some problems in the process where they mishandled my money and caused me a lot of stress and feel that the way they handled that situation was wrong.

Campus Resources: Ashford has a nice online library that I use quite often! there are many difference search engines and it is available 24hours which really helps me be able to work on my papers and etc at anytime I need to instead of going to the library at certain hours.

Campus Resources: I attend school online and out of the four years I have been with Ashford I beleive I have had one time when my classroom did want to load. Nothing major at all!

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
