Academic Experience: Try to Stay on Top – By responding to all classroom discussions no matter how short or quaint, please add something for students to digest. This will always make your instructors happy about what is going on in their classes. I try to maintain a positive attitude with everyone I respond to and adding some humor to their already stressed state.

Campus Resources: The online library is not the best and kind of hard to understand how to use it. The librarians that are available are not always knowledgeable on the useage of the library and sometimes you end up with the same answers as what you would recieve through the library links.

Campus Resources: Teacher's Assitants and Tutors – In my classes they have teacher's assistants which I have never had in online classes I have taken in the past. They also have tutors available 24 hours a day, which is also something that I have never experienced. I think that it is very helpful to be able to have a tutor at any availability because, not everyone has a schedule that can accommodate only daytime tutors.

Campus Resources: Always up, and They Notify You When They'll Update Systems. I've been in a university that did not take good care of their Information technology. It was up and down, the internet through the school was slow, and sometimes went down. Ashford University has always been up when I needed, I have hardly experienced any hiccups with their student portal, and contacting them when I need to has been relatively easy.

Academic Flexibility: Very Flexible With Academic Grades and Credits Transfers. I had been to two different schools spaced 10 years apart. All the credits from both colleges transferred to Ashford and what I have left to take is mostly required courses that either weren't offered at the first college, or that I had difficulties in at the major university. Ashford made the transition easy by having an advisor call me sometimes daily to check on me and seeing how I was doing and asking about whether I was having difficulties. So far, I can say that I have not had any problems.

Academic Experience: Great Academic Challenges With Positive Results – I have sat through classes where the teacher has no personality, bores the students, and chastises them for not performing to expectations. Then I have sat through Ashford University's online classes, where the conversations are engaging and positive, the discussions are very educational and thorough, and the Instructors challenge you to think beyond your potential. I like Ashford University for the challenging and positive academic experience.

Academic Experience: Great University for Those on a Tight Schedule – Maybe you are challenged or intimidated by the traditional classroom setting. I was. I ended up going into Ashford University to try the class setting and courses out. I will not go to another university. I will graduate from Ashford University because the classes are thorough and challenging in a positive way, the students are uniquely intelligent, and the instructors truly care for the students. I give this university the A+ it truly deserves.

Career Services: I feels that the class that I am taking our focus around the real world. The professors that are teaching the subjects are working in the field. If I have a question about my class work or written assignment the professors that I have had has gotten back to me in a timely manner and with suggestion on how I can tackle the home work. I am very happy with Ashford University.

Overall Experience: Overall I Am Happy With My Choice – I like the fact that the courses are only 5 weeks in length. It is easy to post in the forums.

5 College Junior

Student Body: Amazingly Comfortable – Everyone seems so able to communicate openly and readily. There are a few single mothers such as myself. Everyone allows the education process to flow smoothly.

Online Courses: The workload is amazing and so easy. They continue to follow up and check on me. The school makes it so simple to stay on top of my projects.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Glad I Followed Through – So glad I decided to follow through with my education and how easy the whole process has been with the advisers. I really wish I had done this much sooner than I ended up doing.

Academic Experience: I Like My School! I really enjoy doing my work and their online program is great. I find that the work load is manageable and the interaction between students that their online program demands is great. Very important!

College Sophomore

Campus Resources: I Am an Online Student – I have no clue about campus resources. I am going to school through their online program.

2 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: Not Great at Getting Back to Students – I have found that their financial aid center takes forever. My stipend was over three weeks late but Ashford got their money from my loans asap. I didn't like the lack of communication either. However, my admissions counselor is amazing. To this day, if something isn't getting done, she handles it asap! She gets the other departments that lack in their turn around time going!

College Sophomore

Career Services: I Don't Know Yet – I am finding out that they seem a little overwhelmed. It took quite some time for the person looking at my resume to get back to me. Not her fault though! It seems like they need more employees. I did however get pretty decent feedback from her when she responded. And she did let me know it may take a bit for her to get back to me. So far I'm ok with the process.

2 College Junior

Campus Resources: Not Aceptional – I requested a tution credit because of a hurican and never even recieved a reply about the status.

5 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: No Complaint – Overall the convenience and flexibility is whats helping me. The school officials understanding the importance of education, as well as everyday life and it seems that they try to accommodate us, and encourage our continuous education. Nothing about Ashford thus far has been of an hassle, and it was very easy to transfer my credits over.

Student Body: Diversity Is Important – I have met people here at Ashford, from different social economic back grounds. The age group varies, we have full time working people, to homemakers and individuals self employed and so much more. And amongst each other in these classes we all have the same focus to get these degrees so that we can make changes in our lives and others. It's very nice.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: The resources provided from the school are good. If technical problems are to occur we are usually made aware of the situation through an email, a week or more before the maintenance is to occur. Overall I am pleased.

4 College Sophomore

Student Body: Good for Busy Students – I have found that a lot of my classmates, myself included, have full time jobs, are retired or outsourced, or in the military and the flexibility of online classes has been a good way to get an education. I sometimes miss the personal interaction that I may have if I were sitting in an actual classroom, but the fact that I can do my classwork in my pajamas kind of even things out.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I Have Enjoyed Most of My Classes! I am a Social Sciences major and though I have not quite gotten into my "core" classes yet (almost there!), the information that I have learned so far has been very helpful and I know that with my field of study, I will definitely use what I have learned so that I can counsel others. There have been times that I thought I was going to go nuts with all the writing, but all in all, it has been a good experience.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Overall a Good Experience So Far – It had been quite a few years since I had attended college and I was skeptical at first about taking all of my classes online, not to mention the quality of education I thought I would receive versus sitting in an actual classroom. With all that being said, I must say that I have been pleasantly surprised with the professors and the teacher's assistants so far. After I had taken a few classes already, I have found out that quite a few of my friends and coworkers have taken a lot of their classes online as part of their degree process; so I am glad I finally got over the fear and took the plunge to enroll at Ashford!

College Freshman

Campus Resources: I Am Taking This Class Over the Internet – I have not opinion about this topic, I am taking my classes on line and not in a physical school.

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: Library and Internet Research on Campus – The information they have at their internet library is fantastic.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
