Campus Resources: My school offers online classes at an accelerated rate. Each class is 5 weeks long which allows you to breeze through required classes at a faster pace.

Online Courses: You do cover a lot of material in a five week span and if you make the commitment you will get a good education.

Academic Flexibility: each class is 5 wks and the assignments are posted right there so if we want to go beyond 1 wk at a time we have that option. We only need to log in 3 times per wk to comply with academic requirements, so it's easy to comply as we have 1 weeks worth of assingments at a time and in posting of answers we post on thurs, then on the last day of the wk our exam/reports are due.
I like that there is flexibility in submitting my assignments as they are due on certain days so I plan my studying accordingly. And if you need more time on an assignment all you have to do is ask, the educator are understanding when life gets in the way as it happens to everyone at some time or another

Online Courses: Well, three days ago I enrolled at Ashford University online classes. I live in San Antonio, Texas and I have been trying to finish college since 1985. I figured this was my only chance to get my bachelors degree because of my age. I really enjoy talking to my couselor, he made it easy for me to make a decision to want to attend the ashford online dregree program. I am really excited to be a part of this degree now. I will not give up until I finish, I am very much determined to accomplish my degree plan, which is Criminal justice and social science. I look forward to having a good year. Thank You,

Online Courses: Online Course Differ from Traditional course because it is of the approach of the instructor. An online instructor have to develop adequate means of communication for the students, because they aren't readily available as an instructor would be in a traditional setting and the overall environment. Student with online course have to be self starters and self motivated, and have good time management skills in order to be successful with their online course.

Academic Experience: Be sure to allow plenty of time to do your work. I take online classes at Ashford. Some of the assignments can be a little time-consuming and are hard to get submitted ontime if you do not allow ample time to research.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I am an online student with Ashford University. I have no problem with the instructors or the classes. However, I have had some challenges finding answers to questions about my education that were not specifically related to a class. My previous advisors did not seem to be very knowledgeable nor did they act like they wanted to help. I have just changed my major so I have a new advisor who has been very helpful so far.

4 College Sophomore

Career Services: They help you with resumes. And you can do job searches

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: I enjoyed the flexibility of the classroom. I was able to take two unsuspected breaks, and still get all my homework done. I was able to complete the work a head of time and then submit the assignment at a McDonald that had WiFi. Also all my previous credits transferred.

Online Courses: I found the material that we went over to be pretty easy, as long as you followed your work with the use of the book. The professors usually would explain the assignment clear enough. The other students was the best part. We all were new at it so we would learn together. Responding to the other student allowed me to have a more open view point. I just found that sometimes the teacher was not precise as to what they wanted and the test were too easy. Open book!

Tuition & Financial Aid: It is a bit expensive for what I wished to pay. I also was not happy with them when they would send me my pell grant, and then take the full amount of the tuition in student loans. They should have used the pell grant, and then take the remaining out in student loans. I am not happy. They also change the tuition fee every 6 or so months. No locked in fees.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I received financial aid. Ashford University made it very simple, and easy to get started. There are no hidden fee's here either!

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
