Online Courses: Online courses through Ashford provide access to our classroom at our convenience. We are able to interact with our instructor and peers via discussion boards each week or through email if/when necessary. In my experience, most courses have been a wonderful learning experience in which I will value after graduating. I would highly recommend Ashford to those interested in online learning.

Online Courses: Once I got into the process of following the rules of the online classes, I began to fit right in. The discussion boards were complete and open for discussion by the other students as well as the instructor. I learned how to manage my school time, personal time and other necessaries.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition for me is great. I just recently transferred to Ashford from a school that had me thinking I was going to have to quit. After coming to Ashford I believe that I will be able to finish my degree before my loans run out as well.

Campus Resources: I think it is very good that Ashford offers resources to their students that have disabilities as I am currently one of them. Also I am quite sure that when I begin to writ my essays for my courses their writing center will be helpful as well. It is always good to have sources like that.

Academic Flexibility: I start classes his week so I can't really give it a grade yet, but from the looks of it the school will more than likely start out with a B from me.

Online Courses: Online classes work best for me because I am able to be at home when my kids get home from school with all my school work done. I can get it done as soon as they leave for school and have the rest of the afternoon to do my housework, go to the doctor, etc. If I had to be in a classroom I could not do it. I have to be able to get my kids if they get sick and be available for a conference with the teachers should a problem arise. I could not do that from a classroom setting.

Academic Experience: Professors are available through email. You can leave a message and they usually get back to you within 24 hours. I have not had any questions except for one, and the professor was quick to respond to my email.

Academic Experience: My classes so far have been very enlightening. The first two were refresher courses that went along with my major. All the classes I have taken so far go along with my major. I have not taken a class that does not have to do with Early Childhood Education. The classes are not overwhelming. The materials are very good.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Its a pretty easy process. But i've had a headache trying to get my transcripts to the school. Then it's the stipend process. They take a long time to post your stipends to your account and to release the balance to you.

College Freshman

Student Body: I can't really say because since i am a distant learning student i really can't interact with the student body.

Career Services: I get the best services at my school I don't know much about the career services but the education is wonderful.

Campus Resources: My experience is limited to online courses. However, Ashford University has a great team of tech's that are available 24/7 to answer questions. AU provides notice in advance of down network time, which are rare, and notice of upgrades to online resources, such as the online Library for resources.

Campus Resources: Ashford University (AU) has a wide variety of academic programs available for students to pursue. AU provides online degree programs for individuals that are unable to attend through a traditional classroom environment. AU provides assistance for military members and their family members.

Overall Experience: I like that the online classes are 5 weeks long but I do worry about the fact that there are never any test in majority of the classes but a 8-10 page paper is do in every class at the end of the 5 weeks. It doesn't seem like there is enough time for the papers.

College Junior

Career Services: I don't know of any because I was not told of any.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I believe that I am getting a good education at my school but sometimes it worries me that we have no test and all we do is write papers for every class. Also I feel like for these classes I'm taking to be online and to be only 5 weeks long the tuiton is quite high.

Campus Resources: My school made getting my degree easy. Advisors always treated me like a person, not just another student. I liked the workload and the grading style. I enjoyed pushing myself to complete assignments on time and being focused on reading and writing.

Campus Resources: Advising is poor. Information is difficult to get and advisors have changed repeatedly in my time there.

Career Services: No career placement. They offer classes, and information about job hunting but that doesn't compare to other schools.

Online Courses: I really liked online courses. They were more focused on reading and writing and participating in discussion groups, all of which have always been my favorite parts of school. Some of my courses didn't even have tests and most only had the occasional 10 question quiz. I think that writing in the discussion groups helped me open up more than I might have if I had been talking in person. I didn't have to worry about someone cutting me off or having to figure out the best way to word something because I had time to re-read my responses.

Overall Experience: I think that online learning is not for everyone. The way that school was set up for me I was required to be very self-motivating and I had to do a lot of reading and writing. Fortunatley, I love to read and write and excell at both so Ashford was a great fit for me. I would go back again, but I did kind of miss not sitting in an actual classroom.

Overall Experience: I think Ashford cares about their students and want them to succeed so they keep in touch with their students to make sure they are learning the proper discussions and assignments, also try to help studing for tests. They also try to give accomadations where ever you need the help.

Academic Flexibility: I have had an overall great experience with Ashford. I love how flexible the classes are. If im not tired I can stay up as late as I want to work on school work. I think convenience is the best to describe Ashford

Tuition & Financial Aid: Overall, I was happy with the tuition and financial aid process. The only thing I didn't like was the one time technology fee.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
