Online Courses: I was a little skeptical about taking online classes at first, but once I had my first class behind me I understood the benefits. I was not sure how the class participation worked, but I have enjoyed the peer-to-peer interaction as well as the professor/student relationship. During my discussions with fellow students, I have developed a better understanding on certain topics. I also like the fact that you can contact the professor privately when personal issues come up that prevent you from submitting assignments on time.

Academic Flexibility: One of the things that I liked the most was the ability to transfer in more classes. I looked at other schools like Phoenix and Walden and I was not satisfied.

Academic Flexibility: I chose to attend online classes through Ashford because of the flexibility and the fact that I did not have to log in to the classroom at a certain time everyday to receive credit for participation. I am a mother of three and have a very chaotic life that leaves no room for attending classes on an actual campus. Online classes through Ashford have been much more convenient for me.

Online Courses: Online classes are a whole new ball game when your referring to traditional classroom experience. Many different aspects that I've noticed different as far as from just classroom disscussion's allowing you to view different angles and professor giving input compared to online it's more all about just a topic to try and cover one of the topics in that weeks reading when there was many different topics. It's harder to cover all basis and you have to be more displined to do online because it's all self paced but with deadlines.

Academic Flexibility: The main reason I chose this school was because of how easy you can work around your personal life. The credits I had from my high school transferred without any problems.

Academic Flexibility: The schedules for classes are flexible, but the due dates are not. When an assignment is due, that is it. Overall, I like that I can do the work on my time instead of when the school says so.

4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: I have not had any issues with Ashford at all. The faculty has always been very helpful in answering any questions. The flexibility of attending class when it fits into my schedule is a great thing.. Sometimes the due dates are hard to meet but it is part of being responsible.

Academic Experience: The instructor does a good job of explaining what is expected of you for each assignment. If there are problems then one can ask questions and the questions are answered promptly.

4 College Sophomore

Student Body: This school focuses on adult learners and for that reason there is no competitive edge you have to overcome. You are all there for the same reason. The responses that you get from other students are intelligent and well thought out.

Academic Experience: I give them an A on the class registration process I think that the way they get students started is actually helpful and benefit each student. They have an online open conference before you start your classes and people log in to the conference call an perform task with other students to ensure they know how to login to the classes and see where they do there home work.

Online Courses: This is the first time for me to take an online course. I do miss the interaction in the classroom and meeting new people and having our small discussion groups. I think it is more of a challenge and it helps me to focus more on my discussion questions and assigments.

Academic Flexibility: Ashford University online classes are so versatile for my lifestyle right now. I work 38 to 40 hours a week and I am a full-time caregiver for my ill sister.

Career Services: When I graduate in 2013, I plan on utilizing Ashford University's Career Center. I am 50 years old and I have had lots of job opportunities, but my dream is to land a job in a hospital or nursing care facility as a Health care Administrator, CEO or Vice President of the organization.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
