Tuition & Financial Aid: I wish that there was more communication with the assistance of financial aid.

Campus Resources: Overall Good – I have experienced a couple network problems. Sometimes I will have to close the window down that my class opened in and re-enter it. However, it does not really delay my work.

Online Courses: My Online Classes – Without online classes I could not go to college! I worked as a hair dresser full time. Without the flexibilty in scheduling I would not be able to do this without taking away from my work schedule. I have gained the confidence I need to change fields. Now I am starting a small business that will go where my degree is taking. Ashford on line rocks! Several of my clients at the salon go to ashford on line also.

Academic Flexibility: Transfer Credits and Convient Classes – Because I go on-line to Ashford I can enter the classes in my time. So the schedule works with my life which is awesome!

The staff at ashford Worked so well with getting my credits transford from my former online college. Where I was a number and things got way messed up as I was leaving their program. I had a small delay in starting due to financing issues but my academic at that time stayed in touch and kept me up to date on everything. At first my state did not accept my chosen feild so they worked with me so I could still have what I wanted with an acceptable program. Then my state accepted the degree I truely wanted and Ashford staff had me ready to change over before the date of acceptance. so transition was very smooth. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this school. The best part is even though I am an on-line student I am treated like a person not a number.

Academic Experience: I feel the workload is just right, not to much to overwhelm a student who hasn't been in school for many years but it is enough to keep it interesting.

Overall Experience: I Have Been Treated Like an Individual With Brains. Many schools have treated me with some type of negative approach when I compile all of my paper work and present it coherently. It seems to cause some people to become hostile, but at this school I was given my accomendations.

Campus Resources: I had taken previous online classes with another college and when I switched to Ashford, school actually became me enjoying learning and filling my mind with new knowledge. The main thing that truly made it enjoyable was the organization of the class. There flow of the page was impeccable! The network is good as long as your internet connection is good, and Ashford even has a mobile version when you are not at home.

Online Courses: Online courses have been a miracle to my life! With being a stay at home mother to a three year old and being a one car family it is nearly impossible for me to go to school, but online courses changed that. I have been extremely more successful at Ashford, with my one of my highest GPA's. The relationship with the instructor should be minimum, but very helpful. They will direct the discussion boards and give feedback to written work. The majority of the class is self taught by following the readings and videos given for the week. The written assignments are geared toward critical thinking. The entire online environment is amazing and I feel more knowledgeable than ever.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The education that I am receiving at Ashford University is definitely worth the tuition that I am paying. My financial aid covered the majority of my fees and it was very easy to get set up with financial aid. My only concern with the school is that they do not offer any kind of loans through the school and it is almost impossible to get one for the school. I am a stay at home mother and it is hard for me to pay any extra for my classes. Because of this, I am working extremely hard to get scholarships! I think that the school should offer extra loans to cover the extra costs that financial aid does not cover.

Online Courses: Course Organization – I transferred to Ashford last January. Their on-line 5-week programs are extremely well organized and allow you to easily work them into your schedule. My books have been on-line and everything is stream-lined to make things easier to mesh into your daily routine. The 5-week programs are allowing me to aggressively pursue my degree without wasting time learning at a normal 12 wk pace.

Overall Experience: Motivated students desperately needed! I chose an online university because my local options are quite limited, and so my overall experience at Ashford has not been terribly bad so far. The site is easy to follow, classes are straightforward, and the professors are quite knowledgeable in their respective subjects. My only real complaint is that my peers often take the classes with very minimal effort, so in the weekly group discussions there really is not the development of ideas and opinions that I would like to see from an institute of higher education. Additionally, the school material is quite brief and concise, which is great for the quick-fire classes, but often leaves me seeking other books and texts to understand the course more thoroughly.

The lack of discipline has me worried about my future when I do graduate, since I am aware that many workplaces do not take online courses seriously. Really it makes me wish that more serious students were enrolled, rather than those who seem to think of this university as a painless alternative to a 'real' college.

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
