Academic Experience: The experience I have had so far with my counselor at Ashford University is wonderful. He was able to answer all of my questions and concerns and if he was unsure about someone instead of saying I don't know, he would promptly direct me to someone who could better help me. Every time I've called and was unsuccessful in reaching him he would promptly return my calls and I called a lot in the beginning when starting my paperwork and enrollment process. :)

Career Services: The quality of the career center was very helpful to me when working on my Masters degree in Early Childhood and Special Ed. It was very easy for me to maintain high quality services, as well as enhance my opportunity to be placed in a school setting of my liking. The alumni network is pretty awesome. I still receive newsletters and information in mail about different sources of information or I can still go to the school site to view info as well. The job prospects I have yet to explore. I started working in the field of early childhood education, and with the degree at hand I have new opportunity to become part of the special education department on the job.

Student Body: Honestly, I was an online student, but at the time of graduation the student body did a great and wonderful job making the students feel welcome, very resourceful, and the school website was very helpful and easily read to finding the information you need. If there wasn't any information available, calling for the right answer was at ease, and the student body knew what they were talking about and how to find the right resource person for further guidance.

Student Body: most of the students i have encountered have been from some branch of the military. they are usually from the Eastern part of the United States. i feel like i am the only westerner that is online sometimes. it is okay though i am not afraid of being alone. :0)

Academic Flexibility: i believe that is the grade i was to receive with one pf my previous classes and i was stumped because i turned all of my assignments in (so i thought). i found that i did not submit my assignment, it was already finished i just spaced it. it was 15% of my grade and it knocked the grade from a C to a D+ and it was not acceptable to me or the school. to make it short i emailed the counselor and the instructor for that course and asked what i could do about turning it in. my counselor suggessted i get a hold of my instructor first and then if that did not work i could always appeal my grade with the proper forms. i then emailed my instructor and he did accept my assignment then he graded it and gave me a grade i felt was appropriate for the work that was submitted. i was pleased that he allowed me to turn it in and that i did not have to go as far as an appeal process. I thank the both of them for their understanding and patience with me.

Academic Experience: I have enjoyed the interaction with other students and instructors. The work is not difficult if you put in the time to read the material and do the work.

3 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: I enjoy the staff and the courses are not too hard. You definetely get out of them what you put into them. The financial dept is a bit confusing however.

3 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: The reason why I choose this school is because of the affordable tuition There is no hassle or pressures when attending school online. You are able to work at your own pace

5 College Senior

Student Body: The only student body interaction I have is online. But the students I interact with have all been nice individuals who have given helpful feedback on our discussions. I have not encountered any bad situations.

Campus Resources: The availablility of Ashford's online courses has always been good. Even with natural disasters they still managed to keep everything up and running so there was no delay in the courses. Labs are easy as well, very simple to access and complete.

Tuition & Financial Aid: To be honest, I'm not sure that the price fits the quality and depth of the material. Each course costs over one thousand dollars, and the price seems to rise every year. On top of that, my financial suddenly dried up, leaving me - without a fair warning - in the terrible position of having to find alternative ways to pay for this. I have enjoyed myself at Ashford, but I can't say that I would recommend it to anyone else.

4 College Freshman

Student Body: I am enrolled in the online portion of Ashford and find that most students have full time jobs and family's, They are working on there education in there free time, they have to be dedicated because it does take time away from there family's but will pay off in the end.

4 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: I am still new at Ashford but have not have any problems as of today regarding my financial aid

Online Courses: The classroom environment is wonderful at Ashford! Not only do you have the discussion boards for interaction, but they even provide a Cafe' for the students to hang out! It is a great way to get to know your fellow students.
The professors are very excited to instruct and their correspondence is fantastic! Some allow you to contact them via telephone, while others prefer email, but either way, they are quick in responding and very helpful!

College Sophomore

Career Services: As of yet I have not availed myself of the career servises at my school. I am a rising junior and will not start looking in that direction until my senior year.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I thought I would get a little more financial aid. I heard about some stay at mom mothers going back to school not having to pay a dime. I was able to get some, but got awaking when I saw I also had a student loan about $11000.

4 College Senior

Online Courses: I was very nervous when I started taking the online courses. After the first two classes I was able to set a routine. The work load is a little high at times, but I am able to work it out and the teacher understands that we have a job and family as well. They are willing to work with me when needed.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: My experience is so new right now that an A is what I see as being the grade. I can't give much detail as to any aspects of the program internships/job opportunities as yet due to I just started my program.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: The academics offered are excellent. You have the choice to take one class at a time or two if you desire. Taking one class allows you the time needed to study and concentrate on your subject. Advisors are constantly in contact with you insuring that all is well. Instructors make themselves available to make sure each student is okay with the class and the work assigned.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: We don't have any computer labs. The speed of the school internet is great. We have had problems with but nothing major.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: The fact that my school has a libraries online is great to where I don't have to go to a public library. I would love to go to some of the campus activities but I stay in another state.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: I like the fact that if something happens to you like a illness or problem in the family. They don't hassle me and when I was ready to get back in school. They were great about getting me back in school. I wish I could visit the campus but I live in another state.

4 College Sophomore

Online Courses: I love the courses, the only thing is that it takes a lot of work to have you in an A grade. It only takes less than 1% to drop it 10%. It's fun to comment on all the students work and critique each other. For some classes, the workload is a lot. I had classes with up to 5 big assignments per week on top of a Test at the end of the week. This is not to include all the reading required. Overall, It's an experience that only prepares a person for the future, so it's worth all the effort.

Overall Experience: Going back to school was the best decision of my life, and Ashford helped make that possible. The online classroom was perfect for my busy lifestyle, and the heavily research-oriented coursework helped me learn and apply the information I was absorbing. I not only feel a sense of accomplishment, I feel as though I have learned a great deal!

Ashford University provides a great learning experience in a very unique environment. If you ask online Ashford students if they're happy with their choice to attend school there, most would probably say that they would do it all over again if they could, mainly because of its flexibility and convenience with schedules. The instructors are helpful and respond to questions in a timely manner, usually within one to two days. The instructors are helpful and encourage students to constantly look for better answers. Online classes are very convenient to students with complicated schedules; students can complete assignments at their own leisure, yet within the time constraints of deadlines. Most students find no problem completing their assignments.

A drawback of being an online student is that you don't have the opportunity to really check out the organizations or physical resources Ashford offers. However, the University does have an online library that students can go into from the Student Portal. The library is easy to use, and students can usually find most of the sources they need when writing a research paper. Even though it isn't your typical college interaction, the instructors and classmates are friendly and very helpful when you have questions. Students are able to help each other in unique ways. In one case, a student didn't have her book for class yet, and another student was able to scan a copy of the assignment and e-mail an attachment to her. Classmates are also helpful in post discussions and give each other timely advice and wisdom.
