Majors: There really is no official guidelines for the premed program. There is no specific GPA, no recommendations needed, or anything that would distinguish one student from another as a better applicant for Med Schools. When compared to the strict requirements for the Nursing Program it is a bit disappointing and gives one the sense that their achievements and goals mean little to the school.

Majors: Armstrong takes pride in their science programs and puts extra effort into making the labs a hands-on learning experience; however the pre-medicine program is nothing special. Compared to other universities, Armstrong is lacking in the fact that there are no special advisers or MD's in charge of the program so you really don't get the feeling you are prepared for the MCAT or get help preparing your applications for Med School. There is a pre-med club that invites MD's and other guest speakers on these subjects, but that's mostly organized by students.

Campus Strictness: There aren't many campus policies and the police are relaxed. Although we have events on campus, it's rare that anyone decides to be disorderly. AASU is a tobacco and alcohol free campus; this is the main enforcement here.

Computers: The technology accessible on campus is essentially the best thing about AASU besides the vegetation. There are a variety of laptops and computers available for students and even guests. Students don't really need a personal computer or printer because the library and computer labs have flexible hours. I still recommend having one for when there are late night/ early morning work studies. The WiFi strength is great too, despite it disconnecting sporadically. Our IT team is also excellent with their constant updates.

Transportation: The CAT, Chatham County Transit, buses do a good job of being around every half hour at decent hours for AASU. The only set-back is that the bus stops are distant from the dorms and students don't get discounts anymore.
