3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: The town is large for my standards but has a small feel. Pleasant downtown area. Not many unused buildings. There are quite a few food joints. There is a lack of retail stores, there is no actual mall.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: The students living in dorms are very limited when it comes to who and when for their visitors. There is a no possession of drugs or alcohol and no use of tobacco allowed on campus.

3 College Sophomore

Computers: There are many computers available through the library and academic buildings. The wi-fi is available throughout campus except for the dorms. The students living in dorms are assigned a signal ethernet port which is limited to 5 mbps. Haven't had problems with the network failing. You are required to install a Cisco program on personal computers to access internet.

Health & Safety: I have not used the health office personally, but have friends who were taken care of very well. The campus police are always patrolling whether in cars, UTVs, or bicycles. They even do random walk throughs of the dorms.

4 College Junior

Diversity: There are definitely diversities between all of these groups, but it seems as though everyone gets along and is accepted for the most part. This is another thing I love about ATU.

Athletics: I love both kinds of sports, the varsity and the intramural. Many people seem to support both. Anyone is welcome to the intramural. I actually got to fill in at a softball intramural game a couple weeks ago. I loved it, and I will probably play this spring!

Scholarships: I am thankful for the financial aid I received, but it was not enough to live on campus and possibly not enough to finish school. I am a first generation college student, and I would REALLY like to get the full experience and finish to set an example for my two younger sisters and future children. This is why I am applying for more scholarships.

4 College Junior

Academics: I am mostly taking general eds and one online class pertaining to my major. It will be like this most of my years, and I love it.

4 College Junior

Academics: I love all of my professors. They definitely challenge me but nothing unbearable. I spend a lot of my time in the library doing homework though!

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: There is definitely a variety of guys and girls here. Most people dress casual for the most part and dress up occasionally.

Overall Experience: I love this school. It is beautiful, not TOO challenging, has great teachers, and has great students. The only thing I would change would be to live on campus so I could get more involved and get more of the college experience.

4 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek life is a pretty big thing on campus. It seems like a good way to get involved, and I have considered rushing for it next semester.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: I do not live on campus because I cannot afford it right now, but I really hope to be able to in the future. It is easier to get involved and is more convenient when you live on campus. The cost is way too much though.

3 College Junior

Parking: I am living off campus until I can afford to live on campus, and the parking for my tags are away from everything. The closest ones fill up quickly!

4 College Junior

Computers: There are plenty of computers on campus that work properly! There are like a billion computers on all three floors of the library, plus the ones in the labs around campus. The printers have only been down once I think. I bought a laptop, but I haven't had to use it much at all.

4 College Junior

Facilities: I spend most of my time in the library studying. The first and second floor are blue zones. These require minimal talking and no cell phone use. The third floor is green zone, so it is better for group work.

Facilities: I think one thing that sets us apart from all of the other schools is are trees. ATU has so many trees! It's beautiful though!

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: Well since I have already got a parking ticket I know that they are strict on those. (I didn't know it wasn't my parking area though) I also know that professors like their students to come to class. I know of some people that have got dropped for missing too much. Some professors even give points for coming to class.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: The caf is okay. They have plenty of choices. They even have ice cream, but it has went a little downhill since school started this semester. I like Baz-Tech a lot, but it is too expensive to eat there everyday. I hear lots of good reviews on the sandwich place in there, but my favorite is the Chic-Fil-A!

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: I grew up at in a small town just thirty minutes from here, so I like how close it is to my family. I also think they have good choices of places to eat in Russellville like Whattaburger or La Huerta's. The shopping is okay, but most people have to travel to Conway or Little Rock for the best choices. The overall environment is really good because most people are helpful, trustworthy, and friendly.

Weather: Well for one thing, the University is located in Arkansas, so it's hard to tell what the weather is going to be like! One day it is hot, and the next day might be freezing. I walk to all of my classes, so if it is cold I freeze, and if it is hot I sweat. I bought a poncho for when it rains!

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Honestly, I think that the safety on Arkansas Tech is wonderful. I always see the officers driving around, and someone was sent to help me BOTH times I have locked my keys in my car this semester. I am a girl, and I feel like it is safe to walk anywhere alone. Maybe not so much at night, but I believe that pertains to anywhere!

2 College Junior

Transportation: There are no taxis or buses for Tech, you have to drive everywhere.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: off campus housing was alright depending on the place where you lived.

4 College Junior

Academics: My major was pretty cool, had lots of fun. We were able to do alot of fun activities such as workouts and sports games.
