Parking: The parking at Arkansas Tech is not anywhere near ideal, but much better than many schools, especially in the state of Arkansas.

Weather: Warmer Climate, but Floods When Rains – The climate in Arkansas is typically on the warmer side, but the Arkansas Tech campus tends to flood when hit with a decent amount of rain

Academics: Why Tech Is Amazing – I transferred to Arkansas Tech as a skeptic. I didn't know what to expect, at all. However, transferring to Tech has been the best decision I've made in my collegiate career. It's not too big, not too small, and the people here are down-to-earth southern people. There's something for everyone as well. There's athletic places for people to exercise, there's places for people to study, and much more. The Greek life is amazing as well. They're cool people, and very helpful with the entire process. Overall, Tech is great.

Nightlife: Tech does not have a nightlife because there is nothing to do in Russellville since it is a dry county.Someone might have a house party but its not a gurantee that anyone is going to show up.

Majors: I Enjoy My Major – I plan on getting my masters in Early Chilhood Education and becoming a Kindergarten teacher, which I'm very happy with because I do believe that Tech is capable of teaching me the information that is need for my career. However, I do have my concerns that I may not find a job not because of the school I attend but because of the economy even though teachers are always going to be needed.

Academics: Multiple Options for Help – The professors are wonderful and are welling to help in any way that they can, there are many curriculums to choose from and they have multiple study areas for students and turtors for just about any subject needed.

Campus Dining: Ok but Repetitive – In the beginning of the semester the food is great but as the semester goes on they start to serve the same thing over again and on the weekends your stuck with nothing but fries and pizza. Its almost as if they do not care what they serve any more.

Academics: The Professors Are Really Knowledgable About Their Subjects – Tech has wonderful professors and that is one of the reasons why I enjoy Tech so much. The professors are really knowledgabale about their subjects and when they teach you can really tell that they enjoy their jobs and if you do not understand the material then they are more than welling to go over it again even after class hours if you still do not understand the information. Not only that but the professors give you full depth details on the subject that way it actually sticks with you when you live the class.

Campus Dining: Average, but Could Be Better – They have good cafeteria food, but is very predictable when knowing what is on the menu. There is a good selection at the Baz-tech, which have five different fast food places. They should change up the menu every so often at the Cafeteria and maybe another little restaurant or fast food place. The Cafeteria is always crowded at lunch time and there is always a long waiting line if you don't beat the rush.

Weather: We get the strangest weather. It can ran one second and be clear and sunny the next. The temperature now is usually in the 100's and everyone is desperately wanting it to rain, but I bet once the fall starts it will still be warm til late October or November and then the temperature will completely drop afterwards.

Parking: The amount of parking spaces during school hours by classes and cafeteria are always filled up, but thin out late afternoon. Usually need to park around the outer campus, but walking distance still isn't too bad. Areas of parking for those who live on campus is decent, but think that those who live off campus get the best parking areas.

Computers: Could Have Better Better Internet – At Tech, you can always find a computer open no matter what time of day or month. They are very useful and help out a lot when in a huge rush or need to do school work on. The Internet though can be a lot better. The Internet is really slow and freezes up on you. Plus, Don't like having to sign to obtain Internet on personal computers.

Greek Life: Greeks Don't Do Their Fair Share – The Greek life at Tech makes it look like they are only trying to buy friends, which they don't really care about anyway. They only want to do what will benefit them and not the college and community. Everyone who isn't participating in Greek life thinks it is dumb and a waste of time and money.

Majors: I have not personally had an internship, but I plan on having one soon. I believe that it is necessary in decideing whether I want to continue in this field or if I should change. Interships allow one to experience what it is actually like on the job everyday. I think they are crucial in learing. Some learn more with on the job training than they will just sitting in class. Internships will help with in class learning.

Majors: My particular major is not at Arkansas Tech but my program that I am in is helping me to decided if this is the career path I would like to take. Tech has wonderful advisors who do everything they can to help students make decisions that benefit them. (the students). My advisor was awesome in looking up the classes that I would need to take here that could transfer to a different school if I so happened to deciede to stay with the Radiology major. He was patient and understanding when I explained to him my situation.

Drug Safety: Drug Scene – The drug scene at Arkansas Tech is very low. Not many busts happen. Public saftey is always on their toes and very good about keeping the students safe and away from drugs.

Scholarships: Working with financial aid at my school is very easy. The ladies in the office do everything they possibly can to ensure that a student gets all the needed paperwork in to recieve scholarships and financial aid. They are in good spirits and willing to help. Some tips I have for getting financial aid would be to fill out every scholarship that applies to a student. The worst thing that can happen is someone else gets the money. Filling out scholarships and recieving financial aid will help greatly with expenses of going to college.

Parking: The parking permit at Tech only costs $30 for the whole year. You get a certain color tag depending on where you live. And you can park in the parking lot that matches your tag. If you park outside of your color then you can get a ticket. If you live on campus then you don't need to drive to any of your classes. Most buildings are in walking distance of all the dorm rooms. If you don't like walking then ride a bike. Parking can get bad, especially if you are late for class. Show up early if you want a space close to your building but there is always a space available. The fine amount really isn't that bad but no fine is better than having one.

Local Atmosphere: Great Town – Russellville is such an awesome town. I'd call it a city/town. It's not so big that there's traffic everywhere you go, but it's not so small that there's nothing to do there. It's got several parks and playgrounds and natural hiking and biking trails. There are two disc golf parks, which is a student favorite activity, plenty of basketball courts, tennis courts, a golf course, and places to swim. It seems as if everyone in the town is active, from mom's walking with strollers to elderly couples taking a stroll. There is a movie theater and several restaurants to choose from. It's a great place to go to school. Alumni of Arkansas Tech are making donations all the time. Russellville is a perfect family town.

Drug Safety: Drugs and Drinking – Drug usage at Arkansas Tech doesn't seem to be a problem. Of course there are rules against it. No drugs, alcohol, or weapons on campus. If you get caught with any of the three there are consequences. People throw parties, it's college. Underage drinking does happen, it's college. But usually people are responsible about it. I don't agree with it and there are parties on campus that involve no alcohol whatsoever. There are several youth groups to join to help people steer away from those things and to make other students aware that it is not good.

Campus Strictness: Public Saftey – The campus security is pretty decent. They are really sweet, until you get one of officers that are the worst ever. Majority of the officers are really nice in person especially if you get into trouble on campus. They walk through the dorms and would even carry on conversations. If anything does go wrong, majority of the officers come in and help. They are always there for you.
